@@schwarg that’s not what he’s saying bro, it’s about the fact that when you go to school in the British education system, any and all individuality, thinking for yourself, questioning norms and creativity are ground out of you, unless it’s in the relevant subject, yet that’s still a joke as any artistic creativity shown that’s outside of the norm you lose marks for it, I know a girl I went to school with here, who was placed in the bottom sets for all her art classes, received no higher than a E at gcse for her thinking outside the box and creating and sticking to a style of her own, it’s not what they wanted and so her talents were trashed, she’s now a famous artist who travels the world to do commissioned works for murals or paintings all in the exact same style that she used for her exams, she’s just finished a huge ceiling piece inside a huge church in Cyprus that the country wanted only her to do, bit of a tangent there but the point stands, different means bad and if you only toe the line to the word it’s the only way you can leave with something, a lot of us may have left with very little because it wasn’t what they demanded, but at least standing firm on being creative, questioning norms and most importantly thinking for myself meant I was able to leave with my head held high. My teenage best friend passed away around 9 years ago. We were great friends, told each other everything, and still I miss him like crazy. I found an old box today that had an old CD case in it and I found a CD he made for me around 15 years ago called “Lars and the bastards”. I never listened to it and got rid of any CD player I ever had many years ago so I took to YT to search this band. I have tears in my eyes, this reminds me of stuff we’d listen to as teenagers when we’d go to shows, rip up all our clothes, dye our hair just to piss off our parents. Times were so good back then, feels like yesterday

I've been listening to this album A LOT lately and it just doesn't get old. From skateboarding in front of my house to "Dead American" in 2001 to blasting this in my car in these modern times of isolation, it's a certified classic.

The only reason that I was not hit was because I jumped back very quickly. I didn't tell the cops until they came to our house after a robbery and I then they told me it had been happening a lot then. That was 2004. It turned out that there were more reports about similar incidents. It was either a strong pellet gun or a 22. It wasn't the first time I had a gun pulled on me from a moving car, but was the first time they fired. If I hadn't jumped back I would have been hit.

Montreal punks were always welcoming and great to me, even though i could'nt speak a bit of french. They'd always invite you along to thier punkhouses, share dope, booze, or their squeegy corner, even if it had 7 people already waiting in line.
Used to call Montreal the last rock n roll city in canada...long after the anglo cities had embraced hip-hop oriented fashion and culture, you'd still find beautiful girls in classic miniskirts and studded belts in montreal, and street punks who still knew how to rock n roll.
Went to my first real punk show at this place called backstreet underground...you went down like 2 stories under the street from this door in an dark alleyway, and there was wicked street punk bands and mohawks and chelseas everywhere...fucking awesome people
