Lars is the man I’m 50 now and every song and lyrics that comes from him are moments of my life and he’s singing my story struggles and suffering and success thank you for being a bad ass mofo and real as fuck
When Rancid did their first tour for the first album, he was hanging out with us kids in front. One Cool MFer. That first album is my favorite of their work
The only member in Rancid I ever had a conversation with! Such a stand up guy he came up to me instead of the other way around! I was really blown away by that!
You gotta at least once. They got me into punk with ''Let's Go''. I just saw them for the first time 2 years ago. It was everything i hoped it would be. My only regret is not doing it sooner. It just never seemed to work out.
@@ToddStong-tv1zg yea I’m gonna to chime in & say seeing them is a must! I’ve been fortunate enough to see them more times than I can count since ‘95 (I live 25 minutes outside NYC though so I have access to shows often) but my point is that all these years later-they still bring it! They are amazing live & I can’t recommend them enough! I’d love to hear back from you after you see them!
One of the best in the scene! I have been fortunate to see rancid many many times since 1995 and Lars with the Bastards & most recently when he did that solo tour! What a passionate man! True blue!
I saw him play a private reunion with Uk subs in morecambe about 2003 or 4. He had bloody fists from punching the literal street outside with The Warriors - some kind of game they were playing
If you want to see a totally different side of Lars, watch him in the movie "The Other F Word," which is about being a father and also being part of a punk band.
Met him in Tucson when his other band Oxleys Midnight Runners opened for the greatest punk band youve never heard of Malignus Youth. He didnt stick around long after the show but got to talk a little after his set.
I met Tim at the Loft in Austin Texas in 88 at Op Ivy. He stopped the show because some grunge kids were talking shut about my big hair Mohawk. Tim was shaved bald at the time. He told them I had more balls because I look the way I want and they all look the same. Next we drank Lone Star and hung our. Super nice person and a leader. Next time I saw Tim he was on Mtv with Rancid and he was rocking an identical Mohawk as mine. True story.
That's a kickass story!! I met Tim after a Rancid show in Houston around 2006. He was very friendly and took a pic with us, he was really fucking cool. That pic is one of my most prized possessions, lol
The people that call all the east bay bands that blew up around 92-94 "sellouts" or "posers" crack me up. Fat mike put it best, these bands didn't sellout but instead the music they had been making for years already got super popular. Definitely a unique sound that came out of the bay area that just happened to have mass appeal
I love Lars , he has my age Me and my friends we were badly punks and fucked up at the time , Rancid came out a bit later but before The Rancid there were only the old punk bands and they made it but they never sold themselves to the business as the grunge or theblater fake pop-punk bands
I have no problem.with him. He really does have some good tunes under his belt. But it does seem like he jumps around a bit in regards to scene/subculture. However.....life is fucking short, and who the fuck cares? Also....he is wearing a Slade shirt, so he gets more cool points by me. I need that damn shirt
I was introduced to Antifa via oi and the punk community 20+ years ago. I mean a lot of skinheads are right wing, but those are boneheads, or skinheads who think the right wing is beneficial to working class culture (which it's not). Right wing wants to destroy unions and Oi has always been pro union in my experience.
@@Buckseed dunno if this is a real question or not. You might not be from the US. But it's an anti-fascist organization that is sorta not an organization. I dunno.
Ska today skin tomorrow street punk next week……whatever trend is popular. And dont let the hot topic kids know your on a major label😮……because you can still print your LP sleeves to say hellcat. If that’s what floats your boat.
You can look at it that way if you wanna be cynical AF. Fact is for years hellcat was putting out bands we never would have gotten to hear otherwise. If there was no sincerity to their music it would have been smarter to hop on the numetal train back in the 90s.

This dude is the real deal! A true survivor! I’m 43 and have loved Rancid since I was a kid.
Great job with this Tome! Can't wait for part 2.
Yes! Keep Rancid coming! Tuning in
56 year old punk rocker, who has still have yet to see rancid in concert. Bucket list lol. Oi and cheers

Lars is awesome!
Great job. Can’t wait for part two!!
_See ya in The Pit_
My favorite punk band since 95'
Seen lars and the bastards back in the day and was one of the best shows ever

They would have never made it big, without Lars. 100% fact, he was the special sauce in the Big Mac!
Great video. A lot of clips Ive never seen before. Thanka for exposing me to stuff I havent seen before.

The hardcore band The Warriors?

That movie fuckin sucks though. Best part of the whole movie is Lars talking about his Skunx forehead tattoo and bringing his kid to school lolz.
@ that was my favorite part as well. He’s such a weirdo compared to the other parents at the school but it’s so awesome.
Lars is a true Punker 🤘
Lars I have been since I was a kid, a legend too underestimated for my taste, but this guy is great

Your videos are great
I'm sure I met Lars while he was with UK subs but I was only a small child. Amazing how I grew up listening to punk
It would be good to see him again. Hopefully Blackpool in August fingers crossed
Awesome
Whats the tune at 1:18?

Exactly! 😂
Why they saying he's a poser? I never heard this before.

That's not a counter argument
how could one of the leading figures in punk rock be a poser lol
Why does every punk doc try to push punkrockers to a left wing and left wing isn't working class lol. Punkrock is free and neutral
Thanks Clash for that
How do you figure skinheads are right wing? Antifa is listening to all my old bands.
