People used to think I was weird because I was the only black kid in my school who loves rancid. But seriously you can't beat how good they were
Yes u can

Just spent 17 days in the hospital after going into cardiac arrest and dying. Lucky to have been revived with CPR. Listening to this song daily gave me the strength to get through this ordeal.
welcome back.
I hope you’re still rocking dude
@@reelgangsta1851 I’m still rocking it.
here's a good one for you man! glad you're still kicking!! ruclips.net/video/mwsd20dZ6nU/видео.html
I'm on my "fiancée"'s account here, but I'm a 31 year old woman. Im on my way out for what feels like is way too early due to a liver and kidney disease, which makes me feel lame because all of my prior attempts didn't work and now that its happening, I'm oddly not ok with it.
ANYWAY - my original point to this comment was to say that I listened to this song and album sooooo much each time I got hospitalized. Its absolutely both crazy and awesome how music can be our tether back to life and how it affects us all. Its cool (but also not cuz I wouldn't wish it on even my worst enemy let alone a stranger) to at least hear someone else say what I think.
Please believe me when I say I genuinely hope things are getting better for you.
So nostalgic for me. Had some
Of the best times in tony hawks underground 2 playing that game for hours listening to this song
Ah yes grinding and kickflipping through barcelona. ;(
those games always had some killer soundtracks.
and also NASCAR THUNDER 2004
Nooooossa, eu também, por horas e horas, nostalgico!!
Me too brother playing it again now !
Moved across the country, by myself, sprinkle in some quarantine, and rediscovering my punk rock favourites has been cheering me up
Safe travels brother!! Where ya heading? Driving or hoping lines? Holler back!!
Yes sir!
Dude same. And discovering how awful LA people are haha. I'd keep the quarantine and head back east if i could. Good luck to you!
Gar Weber ... Same dude! Moved to the west coast this year and as soon as I put this punk mix in a few days ago I got a better job, got approved for my first home and just feel fucking good. Wishing good vibes to everyone out there. There’s some good folks in LA, just stay inland and try and find middle class folks. The rich and you tubers ruined the city back in the early 2010’s but still has some really down to earth people.
Love to you! And good luck. I left las Vegas 2 months ago...after 27 years of growing up there because its rancid. 🙈

Me in 2019: I still fucking love this band

Punk is not just a kind of music, it’s a way to live
Yea Punk basically turns you into a piece of shett
I was a heavy metal all through HS at age 27 became PUNK I think I will die as a PUNK, cant believe I was not a Punk as a teen😞 I don't dress like a punk, I wear a short, dress pants and dress shoes, but my in mind I wear all black and I have a mohawk
This is the furthest thing from punk lol.
@@BlueMoonLightDreams I didn't start listening to it til I was almost 30. I must not have had access to all the all the music when I was a teenager I guess what I heard I didn't like, but now I listen to punk all the time
@@davidpayne423 SAME HERE! now is punk all day
I saw these guys in an abandoned church in El Paso Texas in the 90s. 1/2 the room was skinheads, and the other half were cholos, and then me and 9 of my punk friends. Lars smelled SO bad. It turned into a giant fight, I got kicked in the face, and then they stopped the show. One of the best nights of my life.
Had 8 years sobriety. Blew out a couple years ago during nasty divorce and watching my kids go through it. This song single handedly brought me back. Thanks for all you guys do, means maybe more than you know to ppl like me

A salute to my late friend, Patrick "Trench" O'Neill. He rests now, next to his sister, in Ontario. You won't be forgotten. He was a true friend, and he stuck by me, through thick and thin. Rest in peace Patrick O'Neill. 🕯🕯🕯🕯
The weekend before last we had a gathering for my best friend Maddie who died of cancer. Her only request was "Play fucking Rancid!"
We put her urn on a throne in the middle of a field on her mom's property, lit a huge bonfire and played Rancid's entire discography. We got drunk and told stories all night. Some of them might have been true!
Thank you for blessing the world with 52 years of your love and passion, Maddie.
Matt freeman is one of the best and most underrated bassist..
Many people don't want to apreciate his talent, but he's one of the best Punk Rock Bassist.
indeed , It is one of my biggest influences on bass , he have a unique way of playing bass
Not just in punk, i´ll say in terms of rock culture, Matt is one of the greatest.
Ska and punk bass king forever!
Santiago Gamboa Devotto You don't know who is Cliff Burton right?
punk isnt just about being rebellious and saying fuck all,its also avout speaking you mind and sometimes sharing your feelings , my point is its a great song with a good message and I'll be in love with this band till i die and possibly after that , thanks to this amazing band for making the days a lil easier, "when i got the music i got a place to go", truer words never been spoken
True. Check out bands like off with their heads if you want punk with a message
deaderthendead041 oath. This song makes me think of my friends. The ones that liked rancid but this was our jam, our song we yelled in each other's faces, the song we wanted to hear. Punk has so much love it's shocking that people consider it so brutal.
Likeabadgirlshould X agreed,i never knew that i identified so much with punk especially ska and how it's open-minded and accepting of anybody,
basically like if you're cool with me I'm cool with you kind of attitude doesn't matter if you're a punk skinhead a hooligan a rude boy whatever you want to be called, its about being cool to one another and trying to enjoy the time that you have on this world with everyone else, I hope you always enjoy Punk and have a good life you sound like a good person👍
You're describing art.. punk is one form of that. A badass raw form indeed
Feelings? Gay.
This was my me and my brother's song. We grew up listening to in on the Tony Hawk games. We always said it described out relationship. He took his own life a few years back, so hearing it is really hard, especially with the message of the song. I guess I wasn't there when he fell down to his lowest, and that hurts me a lot, but hearing this song makes me think of him and makes me smile
this story hit me hard
Thanks for sharing...sorry for your loss buddy...I seen rancid first in 2001 in Ireland and blew my mind been a fan for over 25 years ..they have great songs of comraderie which which hits hard brother
Same exact situation brother. RIP to yours. He's still there to help you back up. As is mine.

Fuck you Curt. I love them. Reminds me of Tony hawk pro skater as a kid staying up til 1 am grinding on rails for an hour.
@Curt Detman oh wow legendary musicians not performing for free and actually wanting a living... get a life
Saw these guys in concert for the first time in '96'ish. Have seen them several times after that. One of the best live bands out there. You can't help but have fun.
I hear this and all I can do is smile. RANCID has been a constant soundtrack in my life. I grew up on these guys in the 90s and it still gives me that same feeling as when I was a kid hearing it. It truly keeps me young.
These guys have such a great chemistry... you can't help but feel inspired when listening to them
The sad part is I don't think non of my friends would help me back up again but rancid always does thank you rancid
This album was controversial upon its release with many fans citing it as the SELLING OUT of Rancid. I was a freshman in High School when this came out and it divided the punk community, mainly due to their association with GOOD CHARLOTTE and Kelly Osbourne in the video. I personally loved this album as a 14 year old skater and bass player from Miami. With Rancid being seen as one of the last of the true punk bands, this really divided a whole fanbase. They were actually booed at Warped Tour that year in 2003 in West Palm Beach. I still jam it. I'm older now and I say WHO CARES!! IT ROCKS!! INDESTRUCTIBLE!
Sparing the dark details, this song played a large part in saving my life. I owe Rancid, and punk rock as a whole, my eternal gratitude.
I still love this song. It came out when I was in college
Been listening to rancid for 2 decades and still absolutely love them.
This is the ringtone for two of my best friends who I’m still in regular contact with just because the dafts sods never fail to make me smile even when they’re getting on my nerves. Great song by a great band.

Hey bro, I feel you so hard there. This last year I lost my house, car, wife, and job, so I get it. Just fuck make, jam this shit when you're feeling low, and get the crew to pick you back up man, that's the only thing that's saved my life in the last year.

I'm so, SO sorry for your loss... I know hes looking at you and smiling for the privilege of meeting you and the lovely memories you both had. ❤
Keep strong
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure he is in a better place for you ❤
This song perfectly describes how i feel about the people around me (just the chorus though) during this time of my life...right now i'm fighting stage 4 colon cancer, and with people from the nurses and doctors, to all the family and friends giving their support giving their good vibes and prayers and the like, i'm actually beating the cancer....it is slow going and very tiring, but i intend to stay around as long as i can...so far ive passed a few landmarks they said i would not reach...so i am definitely a believer in positive thinking....
Whoa,....homie!... Bro, I...{{sigh of awkward speechlessness}}...that's some pretty heavy shit. I'm really, honestly, sincerely sorry that you've had to endure such a condition. But!,...its good to hear you're making & breaking landmarks like you say. Ya see,....{{sigh...}}...well, obviously you don't know me, but the reason it was (is) difficult for me to find words to broach the subject is because my mom eventually died of what started out as breast cancer. It got better, then it came back as melanoma on her leg, and then,....{{sharp inhale}}...then it spread to her brain and spine. From there, it was just a matter of time. Some time did indeed pass, until finally March 3rd of 2000 came 'round. All I have to say is that I'm just really glad I was there standing by her bed side. I mean,...yanno, it's a memory that is bittersweet, but the thing is,...most of the time people don't get to be there when a loved one dies. I was...so I consider myself lucky. Wow, okay! Sorry, lol...dragged on a bit more than I'd planned. So anyway man,...shit sucks, sorry you got dealt that hand, glad to hear you're improving on a stellar scale, and uhm,...well, I empathize. As I said, I have a rather intimate understanding of that bitch called 'cancer'. Oh yah, also,....Rancid's fuckin' awesome, am I right?! lol
Yah it's good to have good friends and family I don't know you but I'm with you 💯 love you treefeog218...but for me it's about addiction and I know that it's not the same just wanted to share

This band is one of the best of the genre ever. When I used to buy CDs i would just buy the newest album from my favorite bands and sometimes it went wrong. Not with Rancid. I got overconfident that some of my other favorites would follow suit and ended up with U2s last few albums.
Just came back from their concert! And this song while we all moshed was awesome! Went from shoving and going crazy to helping our bros get up after getting ran over and hugging while screaming the lyrics. BROTHERS FOR LIFE!!!

Don't worry about me, I'm gonna make it alright
Got my enemies crossed out in my sight
I take a bad situation gonna make it right
In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light
You see it's our style to keep it true
I've had a bad year, a lot to go through
I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
She's not the one coming back for you
She's not the one coming back for you
If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again
If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend
[x2]
It takes disaster to learn a lesson
You're gonna make it through the darkest night
Some people betray one and cause treason
We're gonna make everything alright
Well the worst of times, now, they don't phase me
Even if I look and act really crazy
I went way down, she betrayed me
Now my vision is no longer hazy
I'm very lucky to have my crew
They stood by me when she flew
I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
She's not the one coming back for you
She's not the one coming back for you
If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again
If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend
