My old man used to play rancid on our drives all of the time. The feeling of the subs the smell of the 6.0 hearing it spool and take off. God I miss being that age. I miss that truck. Here I am 12 years later at 17 years old listening to it again. I’d do anything for another night like it. 😔
The weekend before last we had a gathering for my best friend Maddie who died of cancer. Her only request was "Play fucking Rancid!" We put her urn on a throne in the middle of a field on her mom's property, lit a huge bonfire and played Rancid's entire discography. We got drunk and told stories all night. Some of them might have been true! Thank you for blessing the world with 52 years of your love and passion, Maddie.

Was always to hard core for rancid but i can say in 90s one of these guys used to come to height street and get us street kids drunk off 40s. I will always back them. SF/SF
I watch this.. and i remember the family we skaters n punkers had/have.. especially the 90s... I feel lucky to have this music in my life for 25 plus years... These guys are seminal..
This album was controversial upon its release with many fans citing it as the SELLING OUT of Rancid. I was a freshman in High School when this came out and it divided the punk community, mainly due to their association with GOOD CHARLOTTE and Kelly Osbourne in the video. I personally loved this album as a 14 year old skater and bass player from Miami. With Rancid being seen as one of the last of the true punk bands, this really divided a whole fanbase. They were actually booed at Warped Tour that year in 2003 in West Palm Beach. I still jam it. I'm older now and I say WHO CARES!! IT ROCKS!! INDESTRUCTIBLE!
I never got the hate for non hard core punk. I mean the Ramones were never Hardcore. And they are as punk as it gets. I love The Ramones, but I also like the Sex Pistols, I like the Clash, but I also like the Exploited. To each their own I say. But one can't dictate what's punk and what's not. Green Day and Rancid are both punk to me. Eff what everyone else says.
Hey bro, I feel you so hard there. This last year I lost my house, car, wife, and job, so I get it. Just fuck make, jam this shit when you're feeling low, and get the crew to pick you back up man, that's the only thing that's saved my life in the last year.
Sure sign of a good song: when you've never heard it before, like I hadn't heard this one until today, and you still feel like you've heard it a thousand times. Looks like I might have a new favorite band on my hands...
Saw them live with Dropkick Murphys last weekend in Atlanta. Most energy I've ever seen in a crowd. If you get the chance to see them, you definitely should

I'm gonna a always thank rancid for finding a me a good mate. I wasnon the bus with a small guitar amp plugged into a cd Walkman with out come the wolves playing, the dude was behind me tapping along and got off at the same stop. 28 years later, he's now a close mate an old married to a high-school friend ❤️ thanks punk rock x
I was 14 year's old when i first heard thus song, and discovered rancid on kerrang tv summer 2003. I've loved them ever since! Last night i had quite the emotional dream Tim Armstrong was doing a show, and he was crying saying it was going to be his last show due to cancer 😢 I was sat with him crying, and saying what an honor it was to not only meet him, but to be a fan of his since i was 14 year's old seeing him cry was hard he looked so heart broken of course you would be, but he was an absolute sweetheart showing appreciation to a fan why i love the guy he has heart ❤ 🥲🤝🫂
Don't worry about me, I'm gonna make it alright Got my enemies crossed out in my sight I take a bad situation gonna make it right In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light You see it's our style to keep it true I've had a bad year, a lot to go through I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She's not the one coming back for you She's not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend [x2] It takes disaster to learn a lesson You're gonna make it through the darkest night Some people betray one and cause treason We're gonna make everything alright Well the worst of times, now, they don't phase me Even if I look and act really crazy I went way down, she betrayed me Now my vision is no longer hazy I'm very lucky to have my crew They stood by me when she flew I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She's not the one coming back for you She's not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend [x4]
it's not about how far down you fall, it's about whether you get up or not. Nowhere to go but up when things are looking down. Bad streaks don't go on forever if you stay positive and find good friends
Sparing the dark details, this song played a large part in saving my life. I owe Rancid, and punk rock as a whole, my eternal gratitude.

Theres a music rehearsal stuidio. The rancid quote "in the shadow of darkness, i stand in the light" is torched into the sighn. Nice huh?
Op Ivy and Rancid will forver be iconic 💜💜
Was always to hard core for rancid but i can say in 90s one of these guys used to come to height street and get us street kids drunk off 40s. I will always back them. SF/SF
These guys have such a great chemistry... you can't help but feel inspired when listening to them
Been listening to rancid for 2 decades and still absolutely love them.
Well, fuck what people say. ..Simple solution.
My job is a mess, and my relationship for the past year is on the verge of ending. I wasn't expecting to come here for solace, but I think I found it.
Don't give up. It will get better. Take one day at a time.
Prolly give up on that relationship brother
Hey bro, I feel you so hard there. This last year I lost my house, car, wife, and job, so I get it. Just fuck make, jam this shit when you're feeling low, and get the crew to pick you back up man, that's the only thing that's saved my life in the last year.
Stay strong sometimes life sucks it will be fixed everything is gonna be alright stay punk and positive and be yourself mate♡♡♡
Same here; my auto shop is failing and I think my husband is no longer in love with me. The song just ended now I’m sad again.
Love this band ,,their music still helps me….
This song warms up my lil' heart. This goes to my dear beloved friends too. ❤️❤️❤️
If i fall back down, you’re gonna be my friend, this song always makes me better in every bad situation
"In the shadows of darkness, I stand in the light"
I'm trying Rancid, I'm trying my best
How you doin now?
So happy I just found this song again. This is helping me through nursing school.
If you get the chance to see them, you definitely should
Just came back from their concert! And this song while we all moshed was awesome! Went from shoving and going crazy to helping our bros get up after getting ran over and hugging while screaming the lyrics. BROTHERS FOR LIFE!!!
Happens at every show stop acting like it's exclusive to these pedos
J'adore cette chanson, avec une intro bass, elle déchire ! Elle me donne de l'energie en ces moments difficiles ou' je travaille comme une damnée ! pas de confinement pour moi et VIVE la BASSE !
Understood the last 3 words, I agree lol

I won't stop listen to that song. Triggers a lot of memories now. From the days I was still a teen😍🤘
This is the ringtone for two of my best friends who I’m still in regular contact with just because the dafts sods never fail to make me smile even when they’re getting on my nerves. Great song by a great band.
Even after all these years I still love Rancid
I love this song and video. Always cheered me up a bit during rough times. I'm recovering from a really bad car accident. Sure enough I'm here. It helps to have friends and family that's for sure. Rancid is good times.
This song is so helping me right now
Their sound just welcomes me home. I could never go too far. I could never lose too much. I could be dying, if I hear this band, I think I died all right. Proud to be Bay Area!
Still remember first hearing this when it came out, amazing song and whole record is a straight classic. Tim is just an amazingly talented musician, vocalist, songwriter and producer!
Dude this song is pop trash and it was Tim coming out to being a groomer. How ass backwards is your moral compass?
I'm a Classic rock and Metal fanatic but this song soothes me like no other in times of despair.
You and me brother
I got mad love for rancid. I met them at the Rialto one time. I got their autographs real cool dudes. 1:35 probably my favorite part of the song.
This song has been with me from high school to college to married and now showing this song to my daughter.
Damn I remember when this song came out when I was 10... my oldest brother was 18 and was such a punk. So glad for my brother for introducing me to great music :)

(in the middle of ocean) and with this condition now remind me about all my teenager's songs. Now I'am 33 yo and I still love my songs
Song is seriously so good. Has become more relatable as I've gotten older.
Rancid on the best....punk🤘🤘👍👍👍
I couldn't pick my friend up when he needed it. It hurts thinking about it, I want to have a good time with him man.
Rest in peace brother
When I hear this song, I have smile on my face in an instant. I consider this a happy song.

I play this song while skateboarding, it really relaxes my body when I listen to it❤
Oh please God let me see them play live at least once in my life.
42 yo fans outta Jakarta, Indonesia. Been a fan since the late 90s.
Poss
Icknt
Whenever you see them live and Lars hits that little “Dananana naaaa” part! Ahhhhhh
This song rules one of my faves by Rancid!
Saw these guys in concert for the first time in '96'ish. Have seen them several times after that. One of the best live bands out there. You can't help but have fun.
This song always, always, always cheer me up!
When I'm down this track makes me smile 😊
This song saved my life.
Belting song. Never fails to make me feel good inside.
What I love about punk is its rock n roll af while being hood af at the same time
This is accurate.
It’s sort of a ritual for me to listen to this before going back to school, it just makes me feel mentally prepared.
Do it, man.
@@shellybastion9974I'll wait five weeks and once my holidays end, I'll listen to this on the last day of the holidays

This is the 1st Rancid song I've ever heard and I love it.
I still love this song. It came out when I was in college
Tim Armstrong has an amazing vocal range. Such a unique voice!!
Rancid is the best live show I ever saw. They challenged us to name a song they couldn't play, and we tried, but they beat us! Wow!
Don't worry about me, I'm gonna make it alright
Got my enemies crossed out in my sight
I take a bad situation gonna make it right
In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light
You see it's our style to keep it true
I've had a bad year, a lot to go through
I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
She's not the one coming back for you
She's not the one coming back for you
If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again
If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend
[x2]
It takes disaster to learn a lesson
You're gonna make it through the darkest night
Some people betray one and cause treason
We're gonna make everything alright
Well the worst of times, now, they don't phase me
Even if I look and act really crazy
I went way down, she betrayed me
Now my vision is no longer hazy
I'm very lucky to have my crew
They stood by me when she flew
I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
She's not the one coming back for you
She's not the one coming back for you
If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again
If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend
[x4]
Thanks
You!
Are gonna be my friend!
Thanks!!
Cool

the ending matches the beginning which makes this song ENDLESS..
That’s why the lords of RUclips Vara Ed is with the loop button. Rock on forever, friend.
*graced us...... don’t know autocorrect’s logic with that.
I just love the punk rock energy that Rancid gives.Their music is truly electric! Long live Rancid \m/!
it's not about how far down you fall, it's about whether you get up or not. Nowhere to go but up when things are looking down. Bad streaks don't go on forever if you stay positive and find good friends
