BILLI BHATTI talks about if AEW plan to do CM PUNK vs COLT CABANA ruclips.net/video/Pdd9Iz6PGDQ/видео.html
Why would we be interested in that feud beyond it being a Punk angle. AEW had not given Colt any credible or interesting build. They have Colt babysitting and hanging with the Happy order(Aint nothing dark creepy or scary). Colt rolling with the Job squad 2.0. It doesnt interest fans beyond the fans who just want to see Punk wrestle.

you know its getting serious when Konnan breaks kayfabe and calls Disco, Glen
Konnan is always sneak propping Mexico and Hispanic wrestlers whenever he can LOL
Because they're blatantly overlooked
Yeah while it's huge in Mexico in the USA and other countries a lot of wrestlers will bite the lucha style and we don't know where it originated and when wwe brings them in besides like Rey they will turn them into a joke
@@ThaRealTruth Plus they ignore lucha's psychology as to why to hit the aerial moves or dives, etc.
In the US pro wrestling is associated with nerd culture. I would imagine in Mexico pro wrestling is associated with Macho culture. Disco has a great point
Very true
But disco complains about people complaining
Yupp bust out the forks and cheese grater culture. But most importantly Rockstar culture
Depends when..... I mean, in the 80's that wasn't the case. Even in the 90's. That's all post Attitude Era shits.
Wrestling isn't a big deal anymore. I wouldnt say modern "stars" are a flash in the pan though because I dont think they're even in the pan.
there are no stars anymore, it's just popular wrestlers.
If you are popular then you are a star. It’s like saying Indy movie actors are not “ movie stars”. I would say there are more “ stars” today than ever. Becuase you don’t need to even be on a national tv show every week to build a fanbase. You just need to see the reaction to some Indy guys when they debut on AEW. Many the live crowd already knows and recognize. That’s star power. Will we see mega stars like the Rock, Stone Cold,Hogan or Flair ever again? No of course not pro wrestling from style to presentation to the medium fans watch it on is completely different than previous eras.
I love Discos commentary. He calls today's wrestling culture for what it really is. A bunch of smart mark, geeks, who live and breath pro wrestling

High spots had meaning and were not expected as much back then and got the pops when needed. Today its just flippy and don't look as impressive.
I never thought that a day would come when I’d be listening to in depth wrestling discussions between Disco and Konnan. But here I am. These two guys are really entertaining and great. Love when they argue. :)
isn't it funny how the dirt sheets were all "WWE are burying Keith Lee by keeping him off TV!!!!" and then it was revealed that he was badly injured and even had heart problems?
Right. They said the same thing about Asuka. Meltzer claimed WWE creative had nothing for her, and then it was revealed she was injured. The internet wrestling community is trying very hard to build AEW up while tearing down WWE.
@@rleonardgreen78 And that is hurting the industry more than anything right now. The dirt sheets and wrestling internet community spit venom at WWE not realizing that WWE is to wrestling what Coca-Cola is to soda. In my part of the country(USA), the word Coke is shorthand for any flavor or brand of soda. So when fans bash, falsely or negatively report about WWE, to the casual person/ casual viewer/lapsed fan they are talking about all of wrestling making people not want to watch any wrestling at all. Hating on WWE does not drive up viewership numbers or ticket sales for AEW, Impact or any other indie promotion, it just makes people stop watching wrestling period.
@@spiderhamilton1 Exactly everyone is kissing Tony Khans ass, not willing to critique anything he does, and catering to a very small fanbase of loyal, vocal AEW fans that hate WWE and want Vince dead. Its freaking crazy to watch them attack and demonize the very company that has kept them relevant over the last 10 to 15 years
@@rleonardgreen78 Honestly, the vocal, persistent anti-WWE rhetoric is half the reason I don't watch AEW. The other half is the product itself. It tries to say it an alternative to the bad stuff we complain about WWE but it's really just the same stuff with smaller less well-known wrestlers and less production value. I had hopes for it in the beginning and still see some potential in it as an alternative promotion, but so far it's just shown why most of the guys that didn't get that big push in WWE that they and AEW fans think they deserved. Omega is a disappointment, Luchasaurus is the poster boy for AEW hypocrisy ( "real wrestling not sports entertainment" from the guy in the dinosaur mask), Miro peaked with Rusev Day, FTR is either gettin buried by the XVPs the Young Bucks(rumors) or they just aren't that good and charismatic, Adam Cole didn't get a main roster push and was stuck in a NXT faction yet moves to AEW to join and get lost in a faction, Ruby Riott/Soho will do what in the worst women's division in wrestling. And every other major exWWE guy is a former WWE world champion who had a major push. The hypocrisy is too much.
At least with WWE, I can like what I like, complain about what I don't like and not constantly hear about how bad the other companies are. And if anyone wants to bring up HHH'S "pissant company" comment, please remember he was making a Hall of Fame speech and taking a jab at his friend, a writer, producer, talent scout and coach for AEW, who was also being inducted into the WWE HoF at the same time.
@@spiderhamilton1 I agree, all the facebook wrestling groups have become unbearable. AEW has one of the most toxic fanbases in wrestling. They pretend like that shit is perfect and its mediocre sports entertainment at best and then they get mad at anyone who still finds something to like about WWE.
One problem is these crazy spots are no longer special. They refuse to save those spots for PPVs. For example, Taker could do dives to the outside but he saved it for PPVs and the rare TV brawl.
Ricochet is the only one who works so crazy yet safe at the same time. He's one of the safest workers in the biz with the style he's got. Sure he may get hurt down the line but unlike a lot of young guys, Ricochet knows how to adjust his style when the need requires it.

I'm Konnan and my cousin is Disco, we've had this discussion a bunch of times.
Why are they miserable when they are earning a good living?, the misery is fame and vanity. The reality part is that they all want to be and all feel they are Superstars. That mindset is destroying the business because it creates 50/50 booking. These wrestlers today are ridiculous and destroying their own industry. Not everybody can be a star or should be a star.
We need to stop agreeing with the bullshit because that is what is destroying the business.
because every wrestler seems to think that EVERYONE should get pushed at exactly the same time.
A wise man once said "The world needs ditch diggers too." Translation, nothing gets done without some jobbers to help.
I've literally been saying this for years and years everyone can not be pushed all at once these wrestlers have such huge egos I think it's a modern society problem everyone is entitled
Oddly enough, I agree with Konnan AND Disco. There are a small group of very passionate, nerdy wrestling fans these days but that's a good thing because the boys can get paid.
Disco wants to broaden the reach of wrestling fans. WWE actually tries to do this. AEW wants to super-serve a niche audience. Nothing wrong with either one.
I will say, hardcore audiences are responding mostly to fads. Fad wrestling feds always pop up. Whether it's GCW, AEW, ROH, TNA etc. its not a long term solution to mainstreaming wrestling.
it's true but at some point, there's gonna be no money left.
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL
Right. You gotta broaden the audience. WWE does a great job of catering to children and really getting to that audience. All these other indy feds are catering to 40 year old neckbeards with cursing and blood and extreme violence. Eventually it will bottom out.
If only the majority of fans on each side of the argument would realize this. For most fans, it's an "either/or" "my way or the highway" situation. AEW fans think you're simp for still watching WWE and WWE fans think you're a smark for watching AEW. Not all fans but the majority who talk online. It's always someone trying to defend their preference over the other and usually by trashing the other. At some point fans have to realize the different promotions are options for your individual taste and your individual taste is not the best of right way, just another way.
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL Well, how much is a place like GCW really paying their performers?
@@spiderhamilton1 I think different companies have things worth looking at: The whole Roman Reigns saga with the Bloodline is solid work over at WWE, TNA seems to have a solid roster of guys and gals that put up good matches worth watching, and AEW seems to be playing the the fantasy roster game now, so we get to see fan favorites come together. It helps we're seeing some NJPW crossover as well from time to time.
I guess I don't focus on one in particular, but I look at each from time to time.
I completely disagree with Konnan on this honestly... There are some indy shows that do well if they can afford some names, but generally speaking there isn't very much demand for indy wrestling.... And there may be a core set of fans who will dump all their money into watching these shows, but the audiences aren't growing at all.
also, why go to an indy show when you can watch one every week on TNT?

He clearly doesn't see that just having a die hard fanbase is not even remotely in the same hemisphere as having a casual audience. Disco is right
I think Konnan missed the point of what Disco was saying here. Konnan is definitely right in that the business is thriving more than it has in the last 20 years, but what Disco was essentially saying is that it is on an unsustainable trajectory, and he is absolutely right. You can only raise the bar so far before you can no longer perform safely. For over 100 years, the performers understood that. They understood that you need to leave some in the chamber. Though I loved watching it when it was happening, WCW bringing the Luchadors in was one of the worst things that have ever happened in wrestling. Many of the current generation grew up watching those matches, and attempt to do the things that those guys did. The problem is that those guys had years of training and grew up around that style of wrestling. The modern generation hasn't. They don't understand the psychology or the dynamics of the Lucha style, and they don't understand how to do it responsibly and safely. Most of them end up like Jack Evans, just doing random flips and dives for no reason. As it gets crazier and crazier, and happens more and more often, the fans become desensitized to it. It becomes "the law of diminishing returns", as Disco put it. There is a place for that stuff, but you have to use common sense when doing it.
This is gonna be a good one

Too much of this fandom is living in the past, it's like they expect wrestling to be the same as the attitude era or some shit and absolutely refusing to accept that wrestling has evolved over time. Yeah AEW fans can be a bit obnoxious and annoying sure but at least they normally have a positive and optimistic outlook on wrestling as a whole and they want it to thrive, not to mention the fact that it has been able to intrigue and bring back older wrestling fans that walked away because of how stale and uninteresting wwe was getting, whereas the people that shit on AEW will only spew out hate and toxicity, it's depressing and only scares people away from the community of wrestling "fans" if you can even call them that seeing as they are so keen to bury everything they can
@@SomeGuy-mt4hq You deserve an award. This is 100% facts.
The biggest problem is all these indierific promotions and even AEW have little experience or the dollars needed for some of these high risk spots.
Talk shit all you want about the "WWE Style" but it's safe and trained to the performers to have a longer career.
WWE also teaches economics to their guys to diversify their earnings after wrestling, because you ain't getting in the ring with a broken body, you ain't getting all these Twitch stream views after WWE.
I'll take a career in WWE and post-career opportunities over people chanting "This is awesome" because they sure as shit wouldn't be around when I'm broken and broke
I feel like i could count on one hand the number of safe people now a days. Almost everybody on TV in both companies need at least two more years before they should be anywhere near a camera. There are people getting legit hurt on every single show, and i can guarantee you that we are only told about a small fraction of them. That indie promoter sure as fuck isn't going to. These modern wrestlers don't understand how to work anymore. They think that you have to do that kind of shit to get over. Flashes in the pan, coming from a flash in the pan, is quite the comparison.
AJ styles has had one of the wildest high flying movesets in the world at one time, and look he is STILL putting on great matches all the time.
Disco wants all wrestlers to wrestle like the miz. Miz has maybe been injured once in his career based off how he wrestles, which isn’t a knock on him but after years and years of the same stuff it’s boring. Boring. Good for him for working “safe” but the guy is boring in the ring and I’d take a bathroom break every time during his matches.
wwe fans literally chant this is awesome at a regular superplex so I’m not sure how disco points the finger at “indie fans”. The crowd in wwe have overused that phrase more than any other promotion IMO, maybe because they have more air time but still that crowd is annoying, so to just say it’s indie crowds is lame.
What is wwe’s “sex appeal”? Lol with the exception of maybe 2, they don’t even let them have sex appeal, so I don’t know where the hot girls and wrestling thing is coming from other than the 1990s. Hey it’s 2021 btw.
So your complaining that the same people go to the show when the show is usually in the same key areas. Well yeah man that’s probably normal, if you tour bigger then yeah you’ll have a wider range of fans than you would if you have smaller tours, why is this big news?
AJ Styles does one move involving flying off of the ropes, so what move set are you referring to?

Without the Indies his wrestling career would have end after Vince cut from WCW
it's never good when marks talk about wrestling like it's real
Now this maybe was just a throw away statement by Konan but he said WWE isn't doing cool shit. After Disco stated the difference in fan bases. I just had to call BS on that because WWE doesn't over use "cool shit" for the the sake of "cool shit". Like Charlotte not to long ago did a routing back flip off the top rope out of the ring. They save "cool shit" for big matches. I remember this because not every damn match does it. AEW does alot of the "cool shit" every show. And what makes it worst in which even Konan agreed before AEW still does it they bunch up together to catch a dude flipping out of the ring. The "cool shit" ain't cool when u do it all the time and it looks fake.
And if you are going to have women on your show, that’s great. Treat them as equals and allow them to showcase their talent bell to bell.

just like the people who follow Grateful Dead cover bands, they're into it! doubt those bands are making too much money or recruiting too many new fans. but the ones they got are passionate! I'd rather make the big money than have a not so big super passionate/kind of broke ass fan base. amen disco right on this one
If I were the lead in a band... I'd prefer super hardcore followers, even if it's a small-medium amount.
I wish you guys didn't censor yourselves. Would be a much better listen
Ummm what if WWE didn’t horde profits and shared with talent and crew. We are in late stage capitalism where more and more value is sucked up to the top (VKM)
Well in buisness, the person the forks over the bulk of the cash gets the higher percentage of profit....
WWE can do that by buying & selling stock. How did you not know this?
I hate seeing big guys wrestle like Cruiserweights. Luchasaurus, Kieth Lee, Brian Cage. The wrestling style doesn't really work on the mainstream level. That high flying shit should be saved for big matches like how Undertaker only did his dive during big matches. Not meaningless Raw matches.
AEW wouldn't exist then.
that's why Lesnar was a star from day 1: a huge guy who worked like a machine.
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL and why he is still one of the biggest stars in the business, he doesn't wear out his welcome and he still looks like he would legitimately beat your ass. I was amazed watching young Brock hit a shooting star press, but I dont have to see that every single match. Bam Bam and Vader didn't hit their moonsault every match. Save it for big moments, so it leaves a lasting impression.
Wrestling is not ballet I hear wrestlers getting hurt even if they don't do high spots.
Some times Disco is on point. Here? He is way off base. Dude an Indy is technically anything that is not on tv or even network tv. Just becuase the Crash draws a big crowd doesn’t make it non Indy. Disco is hugely out of touch about this topic.
You could have had Nia Jax by her self on that thumbnail.
Keith Lee probably will never be WWE world champion but maybe universal or AEW champion
if he listens to advice backstage, he will be a champ. Vince didn't book him to hold his own against Reigns & Lesnar for no reason.
if Keith Lee could just drop that indy-pop style, he would be a huge star for WWE
IMO he doesn't need to change. There's no reason he shouldn't be in the U.S. title picture right now.
@@CoolCATs2814 come on man, he's got no personality as a babyface. He would bomb in a big position like that, I wanna see him have a heel run first. Give him MVP.
@@joetroller514 If he went heel, I'd rather see him go to SmackDown & be a disciple to Seth Rollins and/or tag him w/ Bobby Roode.
@@CoolCATs2814 i dunno man, Roode just seems so dull to me. Great shape but he's missing the ex-factor.
@@joetroller514 That's why I'd go back to the "Glorious" Bobby Roode persona while being one of Rollins' disciples along w/ Lee. The "Bask in His Glory" is very preacher-ish IMO & the three would fit well together.
Glen relax!! You had me until you lost me
time stamp it
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL 1:25 he had me when he talked about how these guys are going to cut their careers short with the crazy bumps they take. he had me there. by 4:50 he lost me. If you Don't go to indy shows you don't work indy shows, How do you speak on the landscape of indy shows? the clips and tweet Aren't enough. then rest of what he was saying went down hill..
Disco tried making half a dozen different points to be right about something.
Todays wrestling is 90% aerial acrobatics, its running from high spot to high spot and for those who cant do it they resort to hardcore matches. Story telling is all but gone imo
And the crowd is often not invested in the match psychology, but awaits the next ooh-spot while sitting on their hands. When the spot-meter reaches the top the "this is awesome" chant starts as preordered.
You saw that with Darby and Punk even if Darby likes the acrobatics. You saw it with Miro and Kingston you see it with Christian and Omega. And you see it with every Roman Reigns match. Edge & Rollins. Methodical, work holds and work toward your spots, don't just jump from spot to spot.
that's why i still prefer WWE stuff
@@johansvanborg5870 I agree the acrobatics have killed the story telling and today's wrestling is like going to a racing event becase you're waiting to see an accident. None of these wrestlers have studied past wrestlers like dynamite kid to see how they'll most likely end up.
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL you prefer the same matches over and over?
Disco needs to SLOW DOWN and let people talk..
SETH ROLLINS. Send the guy back to developmental.
who's he hurt lately?
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL Lately? It's about the massive track record he has of failing during big matches and that he hasn't adjsuted style. Are we just going to wait for him to screw up again like he does every few years?
Disco lowkey so right...
Wrestling is a debt concept
