Galvatron returns to assume his leadership of the Decepticons once more. He meets the Quintessons, who offer him a deal he can't refuse. Meanwhile, Rodimus enters the Matrix, where he discovers what role the Quintessons played in the Transformers' creation on Cybertron eons ago. Now, the Quintessons' goal is to regain control of Cybertron and destroy every Transformer in the galaxy.

Optimus Prime always tries to find the best way, while Rodimus Prime just goes for the shortest way, even if it can be deadly dangerous for himself.
Well, one reason to love Rodimus, but also why he gets the most blame.

At 14:10 the history of Cybertron's origin as a planet sized factory for the manufacturing of robotic product lines-- military hardware and consumer goods, is the best version for a Transformers' origin story ever. It's relatable because it's the story of many rust belt city neighborhoods in America which were intended only as living quarters for factory workers. Not a permanent village for generations of families.
In this take on the origin narrative, are obvious motifs dealing with slavery, working class struggle and revolt against industrialists. The eventual obsolescence of manual labor, leading to mass unemployment then blight which turns to urban warfare among the unemployed masses which then justifies the State militia on Industrialists' payroll to either descend upon this surplus, unemployed labour pool to physically destroy them or be overthrown!

Nah. I prefer the comics version. Simon Furman is the greatest Transformers writer of all time.
I can see pros and cons for both origin stories.
This version is more Saturday morning TV friendly. The Primus/Unicron origin would ruffle the freak out of the religious groups and bring even more hate to the series from parent groups.

Much better than the weird religious stuff they come up with later on. I never liked the concept of the "spark."
I love this origin because it's tragic but also makes the Autobots very heroic on a deep level in their quest for peace and the way they respect all life.
The Autobots have made their existence full of meaning and it does not matter to them if its a Sisyphean task they will try to restore cybertron and bring peace between the Autobots and Decepticons leaving the universe a better place for them being there.
The origin also gives the Decepticon quest for conquest a great backstory, they are not good guys but you can see that their quest for conquest is at it's base a quest for safety, and their hatred of weak creatures is a hatred of themselves for having been weak.
10:02 So that’s why the Decepticons were monitoring garbage truck trajectories in “Surprise Party”! Galvatron never got over this :-)
This episode establishes the true order of the Primes: Primon, Prima, Prime Nova, Guardian Prime, Zeta Prime, Sentinel Prime, and Optimus.
I’m guessing Alpha Trion doesn’t count on account of being one of the original 13 primes.

2:08 is the scene with the most visual errors in the whole show. Motormaster is coloured like Kup, Wildrider is coloured as Blurr, Octane is coloured like Grimlock, Snarl (AN AUTOBOT) is there, but he's coloured like Rodimus Prime an there are generic Decepticons coloured as Blaster and Wheelie in the background, along with a guy who's entirely red.

Five faces of darkness was a great story with some of the worst art. I wish the studio that animated call of the primitives had done this mini series.
I would say that Wildrider is colored more like Shockwave.
Fun Fact: At 15:35, the two generics (ones colored like Elita-1, the other looks like a feminine version of Bumblebee) that are among the crowd are Beast Machines: Transformers's Strika and Transformers: Expanded Universe's Glyph.

I never purchased a Bumblebee figure until just recently when they released an origin vehicle mode. I love their Cybertronian forms so much more.

Unless you followed the marvel comic and most subsequent versions. In which case, Primus baby!😎 Actually this is kind of an interesting point. Beast Wars is ultimately a sequel to this show. However, much of the lore referenced in BW was taken from the original comics. So things like Primus and sparks exist retroactively in the G1 cartoon, meaning the Quintessons were horribly mistaken.😂

So there is a big discrepancy and talking point in regards to Megatron creating the constructicons in first season yet in season 3 shows megatron being created what looks like the constructicons but if ya look close, are they? For continuity sake, maybe they are robots similar to the constructicons who build and creat… but aren’t actually them

Megs in war dawn had a lot of drones
All the seekers looked alike and all the reflector bots and insecticpn clones
They were on Cybertron with Omega Supreme in the second season. So Megatron maybe rebuild them on earth, that's at least what I can live with 😄👍🏼
Just like Optimus created the aerial bots but the aerielbots saved him before he became Optimus prime and was Orion pax. I think you nailed it, they looked similar, died. Megatron built them bodies again.

No, they are the same constructicons. In the first season of G1, Megatron did not create them, he only summoned them from Cybertron. But the Constructicons didn't create Megatron too. They just rebuilt the miner's body (whom Megatron was originally) into the body of a warrior. After that Megatron took a name for himself and was born as a person.
So great that all the awesome cartoon episodes are being made available now. On the HASBRO RUclips account we are able to rewatch a lot of the Gi Joe episodes. Will these and the Joe episodes that are not on there also become available on this RUclips channel?
I totally agree because growing up I didn’t see every single transformers or gi joe episode because back then I was either in detention or some after school program and we couldn’t afford a vcr then either I’m glad these are on RUclips I have a childhood to catch up on lol I remember gi joe coming on at 3:30 and transformers at 4 lol

To this episode's credit though, I really enjoyed seeing the history of Cybertron and how the Transformers came to be. Its lore is actually quite fascinating and in depth.

this is one of my favourite episodes just because of that lore bit. I really wish that more transformers would actually explore the history of cybertron and the reason for the war. The idea of cybertron being a factory is my favourite lore detail in all of transformers

Galvatron has Megatron's temper and his ability to transform himself into a cannon with blasting power and his mind can easily get changed awfully a lot more than he could have done with no problems

Considering there are more than six of them in that scene, I'm guessing they're not really Constructicons, but just random characters using their models.

Aaand that somehow did not come when Cybertron was only defended by Shockwave and a bunch of drones while the bulk of the autobot and decepticon forces were still lost on earth? I mean with all do respect for the guy, he lost the planet to the combaticons once, but the combined forces of quintessons are apparently weaker as a single decepticon combiner team.
The quints had their own planet as we saw in the movie
Shockwave might have fought the quints no telling what happened in that four million year gap in between when the tfs on earth on earth was dead ND reactivated
As we learned the beast wars happened in that gap while the autobots and deceptions was offline in the ark
There was lots of quintessuns and they all looked alike so different groups could have tried to retake Cybertron but failed

Season 3 was memorable in some ways, but I prefer Seasons 1 and 2.
Sneaky octopusses those Quintessons. Grimlock should have just eaten them all in the 1986 movie. I enjoyed the origin story. We had one with Jetfire episode, one with the aerialbots and now this one where Rodimus goes on a trip to learn that the quintessons are the central bankers enslaving everyone.

In the script you had more dialogue which wasn't used in the episode
Blast off stood up to galvatron and tried to get the cons to attack galvatron but galvatron shot blast off and them swindle said what can you offer us

Galvatron never heard of a decepticon matrix but he was fully aware of the matrix of leadership when he was megatron

Rodimus Prime earned Springer and the others respect in the end. Rodimus was a great leader like Optimus Prime he just doubted himself. And he blamed himself for Optimus death and becoming the Supreme commander. Weight alot on him and he comparing himself to his former leader. But he accepted his role in as leader but by that time Optimus came back to life for good and took command.
