Marky is such a likeable person. I really enjoyed learning about his journey and experiences. I must say, Ron you have a skill of interviewing. Music has always been one of our best exports in the UK and it has linked us up with the rest of the world.
@@LondonSomething1994 You are capturing the essence of why we all love music and what it's all about. No matter what walk of life we come from music brought us together. The sound always encompassed an international and multiracial outlook. I don't think any scene in the UK has managed to replicate that. It's incredibly powerful.
I forgot to see this interview last year...today made me trip to the past the garare parties, tapes recorded of jungle and hardcore of markys radio show in 90's (i was 12) a huge hits like king of the jungle, original nutta, out of space, sweet vibrations....bad company was insane when he played!!! i went a lot of parties to see him , specialy LOV.E CLUB and SKOL BEATS in São Paulo. long life to the might DJ MARKY!!! great interview DJ RON (my english is so so haha) Big up from são paulo - brazil!
Listening to Marky speak just makes me grin from ear to ear! Saw him at the Honeycomb in Edinburgh and it's still the best night I ever went to! Every time he dropped a couple of bars of filth into some beautiful liquid you could see heads go up in the crowd like meerkats "did he just play that?? Is it coming??" The anticipation and variety made the night incredible and totally follows what he says here. Love these interviews - please keep them going!👌👌👌
Said it before and I say it again, everytime I see Marky in an interview I just wanna go day drinking and vibes with the dude. One of the very best on decks as well. From '99 til I stopped raving regular around '07ish he was superb. Different selction to the other headliners and mixing so smooth. Big up Marky everytime.
Another great interview Ron. Who cant love Marky with his passion and enthusiasm for Music. His online streams throughout these crazy times have been a real escape from the world. :)
Love this interview. So good to learn how the music made it's way to Brazil in the early 90s. It never dawned on me at the time. Big ups Marky and Ron.
Just BURST out laughing, in public, from the “…God rest your Soul, but you slept on that one” 😂 Feel like he is smiling down at that part for sure! These are such a treat, thank you Ron and co ❤
What lovely fella......never heard Marky dj but heard so much good about him. Great interview Ron, just discovered your podcast this week n its making work go past quickly. Safe!!!
I saw him play a few times at Mass. Always smashed it and he always looked like he was having the time of his life. Could have sworn the first time was in 98 though. Maybe i'm just getting old.
Innerground 100 launch party at peckham audio. 4 hours of marky, cant complain by any means but the best bit was 20 minutes towards the end of the night was handing GQ my phone requesting some Intalex be played and immediately Marky provided How You Make Me Feel. Such a great blend, it was a truly electrifying moment for me and hopefully (presumably) everyone else as well. I struggle to put into words what this moment meant to me. None will top Marky and Intalex for me
Ime onn the techno here and catch up with this onn watch later wanna about the dj marky one of the best djs onn the planet a master of the turntables fukkin wizard! big love👍

I first came across Marky on the Helter Skelter 'Energy 99' tape pack. Good set.
I was there never forget it ❤
When I heard him sample Jorge Ben and flip it nicely, I became a fan. Like 20 or so years ago.
For someone so high up in Drum and Bass, still enthusiastic about the music. I wonder what he’s like to work with on the label

Epic podcast, as with all the others. Big up DJ Ron. Any chance of a podcast featuring Bukem? 👍
I was thinking the exact same thing earlier. I'd love to hear Bukem!
His schedule was too tight while in the UK but you never can tell for another time.

LK is in my Top 5 of all time, say what u want but when the instrumental was on dub in 01 every dj (other than Marcus) was all over it.
I remember getting a promo copy in black market records and being so gassed. One of my fondest DJ related moments
Flora Purim xxx
Was DJ Markys dad in BOPE ?!
Im not sure tbh.
@@LondonSomething1994 BOPE is that hardcore section of police that goes into the favelas etc like in the BOPE movie, Its hardcore ish !! Great interveiw dude - im subsscribed
no, BOPE is the police force of Rio de Janeiro
marky and his family living in São Paulo
I think Marcus was slightly jealous when he heard the instrumental of LK and thats why he said it was rubbish.
