I’m only 13 but I realize how young and short his life was considering he was only 27 when he committed and my sister is 34 and I could never imagine her dying at 27. I read a comment about how Kurt told a class mate at age 14 that he was going to become a rockstar and become rich and famous and then take his life at the same age as Jimi Hendrix.

The guy wrote all the lyrics, all the songs, all the riffs, every instrument part, and had to be lead guitar and lead singer FOR YEARS. How can you possibly do all that, have a career and sit there, studying guitar the hours upon hours it would take to become the best. He died at 27 years old. I can only imagine what drs would say now about his stomach problems and how he could've found a much healthier alternative to treat his ailments 😢 this is why suicide is so tragic. A lot of times, it's incidental, a conflict of interest questionable at best, or something that just needed more time. Another thing, is while it's excruciating going through difficult illnesses know that others tend to suffer as well. Even if the help you needed isn't within your lifetime the research and feedback they receive from your struggles does not go in vain. For me, his mysterious stomach pains are a lot of what people experience today. We're discovering things like crones disease, fibromyalgia, all sorts of illnesses and slowly discovering reasons why and how to best handle the problem. From that, I can only imagine how things would've turned out if he had but held on a little longer. He'd still be around for sure, and potentially finding the happiness he always sought for. The only thing I scold Cobain for is that he chose the drugs....choosing not to take them could very well have saved him a lot of health problems, as well as prevented any scandals from circulating which stemmed from it. Whether false or accurate.

He had plenty of reasons to end his life. From drug addiction and divorce, to an unresolved painful medical condition. Having money and fame doesn’t prevent you feeling suicidal, if anything it made him more suicidal. I’m not thoroughly convinced as the last portion of the note seems super staged and most of the note sounds like a retirement from music letter rather than a suicide note. I’m sure a suicide note would’ve been far more personal to Frances rather than an after thought

I was born in 1961. I was in graduate school when the Grunge movement started. One of my professors retired to move to Seattle to be with his son who was in a Grunge band. That’s when I really started following the movement. I was surprised to learn that Kurt Cobain has suffered from a child with stomach cramps and nausea after eating. My mother (born 1929) suffered similarly as a child. A doctor told my grandparents to allow my mother, who was only 8 at the time of his house-call, to take a few puffs from a cigarette to settle her stomach after eating. Can you imagine that?!?!? I was heartbroken when I heard of his untimely death from suicide. May he and my mom RIP. ❤🙏

I think people get overly caught up in their feels and feel better directing it at the easy scape goat. In this case, Courtney. If you don't have evidence, that's about it. Sadly doesn't matter if it happened. Unless they can come up with evidence years later, which has happened at times with certain cases, it is what it is. It's tragic, but not everything in life is fun and roses. In this case it should definitely raise drug awareness as things wouldn't have unfolded in this manner in which we can keep putting the blame on someone still around to harass without them.
I don’t think they did. Back in 1994 they just accepted everything at face value. I know they had a guy look over the evidence again a few years back, but it was far from a thorough investigation by the top forensic investigators and detectives in the country. You would think someone that famous would warrant a decent investigation.

My concern is that there still isn't established evidence that is to the contrary to absolutely verify that it was murder. Simply speculation. If we did we'd be able to eliminate many gossip columns speculating, and wouldn't be glorifying an award winning documentary that someone else made money on while the question still hangs in the air of whether or not he did after the fact. No, I believe just like many celebrities that can't speak after they're gone it's a money grab to all the heart broken fans that still don't want to face up to what's already been provided while also having an easy target to demonize and take their anger out on due to the creators own biased beliefs. It literally happens, and it's sad people would rather jump on the band wagon then ask "why" while following the money. That's my opinion, but I'm sticking to it even if it isn't likeable as this situation isn't something to like at all, but needs to be said. Regardless, even if he was murdered, he still buried himself by committing to the drugs while simultaneously allowing himself to spiral out of control to the point someone could potentially get away with it. What bothers me about it all was he was a drug addict, and people want to praise him while being caught up biasedly easily blaming the other who most likely was fed up with his antics. Most likely, anyone would at that point, so no one can say to the contrary unless they were there. Addiction is hard and it loses friends and family, and the ones that stick with it can at times look like the bad guy when in reality they're just as human as you or me. Whether they murdered him or not, I can't say, but it's still very easy to point the finger without concrete evidence when you're upset while also overlooking the fact he still put himself in that position by choice. Courtney may be guilty, but Kurt is also guilty by setting himself up for failure while also not seeking the help he could have received from doctors when many people are experiencing the same mysterious stomach pains that he turned to drugs for to numb that feeling. I will say with the evidence we do have in health, now, he could very well be alive and well with a solution to his problems. However, like many who turn to suicide and/or addictions, he chose to give into the temptations. Regardless, his poor choices got himself killed. It's sad, but I believe we don't need to make a martyr out of someone who was already a bad role model beforehand. Yes, he was talented, but also very destructive in his own life, and for that he paid for it as many celebrities do when they give in. My belief is even if he was murdered, he was still commiting slow suicide via addictions, and if he hadn't fallen into that common problem he wouldn't have set himself up to potentially be murdered by Courtney. No matter what, that was absolutely his choice, and people need to acknowledge that fact while also understanding regardless of murder or suicide we are also trying to glorify either and that's not good 😞
I don't think he'd ever want to be known as a genius. Just someone who understood the BS in life for teens and young adults during that time period and made songs about it. In his mind, it's not his fault everyone resignated with it. Love Nirvana....Kurt was a genius...that being said, his mysterious "stomach pains"...I dunno...I think (this is my take as someone who had an addiction problem back in the day) ..I think he got hooked on heroin, and because of that, when he didn't take it, a part of his withdrawal was extreme stomach pains .... there are different withdrawal symptoms, and with some people some of the symptoms are more extreme than others...so mentally, because those stomach pains stand out more than anything else, he's just thinking they're just that(as opposed to being part of his actual withdrawal symptoms)...he takes heroin, they go away...but let me tell you, heroin makes ANY type of pain disappear. Coming off of heroin, you really feel like you're gonna die, if you're not on the right meds to help you get off it. Look, it was the 90s, the technology was there to figure out what was going on, and he had the ability to get the best doctors to check him out...(Sorry for the rant)

I can only imagine what drs would say now about his stomach problems and how he could've found a much healthier alternative to treat his ailments 😢 this is why suicide is so tragic. A lot of times, it's incidental, a conflict of interest questionable at best, or something that just needed more time. Another thing, is while it's excruciating going through difficult illnesses know that others tend to suffer as well. Even if the help you needed isn't within your lifetime the research and feedback they receive from your struggles does not go in vain. For me, his mysterious stomach pains are a lot of what people experience today. We're discovering things like crones disease, fibromyalgia, all sorts of illnesses and slowly discovering reasons why and how to best handle the problem. From that, I can only imagine how things would've turned out if he had but held on a little longer. He'd still be around for sure, and potentially finding the happiness he always sought for. The only thing I scold Cobain for is that he chose the drugs....choosing not to take them could very well have saved him a lot of health problems, as well as prevented any scandals from circulating which stemmed from it. Whether false or accurate.

He had plenty of reasons to end his life. From drug addiction and divorce, to an unresolved painful medical condition. Having money and fame doesn’t prevent you feeling suicidal, if anything it made him more suicidal.
I’m not thoroughly convinced as the last portion of the note seems super staged and most of the note sounds like a retirement from music letter rather than a suicide note. I’m sure a suicide note would’ve been far more personal to Frances rather than an after thought

I was born in 1961. I was in graduate school when the Grunge movement started. One of my professors retired to move to Seattle to be with his son who was in a Grunge band. That’s when I really started following the movement. I was surprised to learn that Kurt Cobain has suffered from a child with stomach cramps and nausea after eating. My mother (born 1929) suffered similarly as a child. A doctor told my grandparents to allow my mother, who was only 8 at the time of his house-call, to take a few puffs from a cigarette to settle her stomach after eating. Can you imagine that?!?!? I was heartbroken when I heard of his untimely death from suicide. May he and my mom RIP. ❤🙏

But honestly the suicide Thing doesn't seem far fetched he struggled with mental issues and a major drug addiction before. He always seemed like he was in pain. And while I don't think the idea that he was murdered seems far-fetched either but maybe fans just don't want to accept that he committed suicide. Its something we will never know no matter how he died he still is dead sadly. Thank you Kurt for your music and nirvana. I think people get overly caught up in their feels and feel better directing it at the easy scape goat. In this case, Courtney. If you don't have evidence, that's about it. Sadly doesn't matter if it happened. Unless they can come up with evidence years later, which has happened at times with certain cases, it is what it is. It's tragic, but not everything in life is fun and roses. In this case it should definitely raise drug awareness as things wouldn't have unfolded in this manner in which we can keep putting the blame on someone still around to harass without them.
I don’t think they did. Back in 1994 they just accepted everything at face value. I know they had a guy look over the evidence again a few years back, but it was far from a thorough investigation by the top forensic investigators and detectives in the country.

My concern is that there still isn't established evidence that is to the contrary to absolutely verify that it was murder. Simply speculation. If we did we'd be able to eliminate many gossip columns speculating, and wouldn't be glorifying an award winning documentary that someone else made money on while the question still hangs in the air of whether or not he did after the fact. No, I believe just like many celebrities that can't speak after they're gone it's a money grab to all the heart broken fans that still don't want to face up to what's already been provided while also having an easy target to demonize and take their anger out on due to the creators own biased beliefs. It literally happens, and it's sad people would rather jump on the band wagon then ask "why" while following the money. That's my opinion, but I'm sticking to it even if it isn't likeable as this situation isn't something to like at all, but needs to be said. Regardless, even if he was murdered, he still buried himself by committing to the drugs while simultaneously allowing himself to spiral out of control to the point someone could potentially get away with it. What bothers me about it all was he was a drug addict, and people want to praise him while being caught up biasedly easily blaming the other who most likely was fed up with his antics. Most likely, anyone would at that point, so no one can say to the contrary unless they were there. Addiction is hard and it loses friends and family, and the ones that stick with it can at times look like the bad guy when in reality they're just as human as you or me. Whether they murdered him or not, I can't say, but it's still very easy to point the finger without concrete evidence when you're upset while also overlooking the fact he still put himself in that position by choice. Courtney may be guilty, but Kurt is also guilty by setting himself up for failure while also not seeking the help he could have received from doctors when many people are experiencing the same mysterious stomach pains that he turned to drugs for to numb that feeling. I will say with the evidence we do have in health, now, he could very well be alive and well with a solution to his problems. However, like many who turn to suicide and/or addictions, he chose to give into the temptations. Regardless, his poor choices got himself killed. It's sad, but I believe we don't need to make a martyr out of someone who was already a bad role model beforehand. Yes, he was talented, but also very destructive in his own life, and for that he paid for it as many celebrities do when they give in. My belief is even if he was murdered, he was still commiting slow suicide via addictions, and if he hadn't fallen into that common problem he wouldn't have set himself up to potentially be murdered by Courtney. No matter what, that was absolutely his choice, and people need to acknowledge that fact while also understanding regardless of murder or suicide we are also trying to glorify either and that's not good 😞

I don't think he'd ever want to be known as a genius. Just someone who understood the BS in life for teens and young adults during that time period and made songs about it. In his mind, it's not his fault everyone resignated with it. If anything, he simply brought to light that you can be popular or a loser, rich or poor and still we all have the same thoughts and emotions.

Love Nirvana....Kurt was a genius...that being said, his mysterious "stomach pains"...I dunno...I think (this is my take as someone who had an addiction problem back in the day) ..I think he got hooked on heroin, and because of that, when he didn't take it, a part of his withdrawal was extreme stomach pains .... there are different withdrawal symptoms, and with some people some of the symptoms are more extreme than others...so mentally, because those stomach pains stand out more than anything else, he's just thinking they're just that(as opposed to being part of his actual withdrawal symptoms)...he takes heroin, they go away...but let me tell you, heroin makes ANY type of pain disappear. Coming off of heroin, you really feel like you're gonna die, if you're not on the right meds to help you get off it. Look, it was the 90s, the technology was there to figure out what was going on, and he had the ability to get the best doctors to check him out...(Sorry for the rant)
