Saw him in Greensboro,NC. The whole band comes out and mingles afterwards. He was so kind to stop for me to get an exclusive shot of him. One guy asked if I was his father, I said " I wish" because Pops is fabulous also. Great sound with an honorable mention to the the drummer Jack Ryan who just tore it up. He was just soaking wet! Well, they ALL did great so a must see. P.S. It was JJ's birthday too.

Further trying to analyze this song, just find out that Marcus plays on his chord progression the 2nd augmented and the fourth, very unusual one which shows all his musician skills. At the same time, his thumb is often playing on the "one and"/half beat scheme, which is again very innovative/hard when playing/singing alone. The famous Travis picking starts with the thumb on the very beat

Sorry I’m a bit late to this discussion, but you are entirely wrong. I have seen the MKB twice and I can tell you that band is a well-oiled soul wrenching machine. Marcus shines when he’s playing with his band. They push/pull and interact with each other the entire show and make some unreal music.
