I had an 06 Cobalt SS supercharged and was ALOT of fun 👍👍👍 Also you need to talk about the wicked Chevy HHR SS too! They are the same turbo charged engine from Cobalt SS and look badass! Also I had a HHR Lt and sold it running mint with over 360,000kms last year hahah So reliable and lots of room for activities inside 👍Great video tho Gels!
Is the saab 9-3 a good option? They come in a turbo v6 awd/fwd and turbo i4 awd/fwd. I don't know if they're the best tho just because saabs aren't the most popular thing...
I bought my WRX in April of 2002. I love it so much it sat in the garage for the last 8 years until I could get around to fixing it. I put 177,000 hard miles on it before the motor went. I am in the garage right now putting new water pump, timing belt and tensioner on JDM EJ20.
Mk4 Jetta 1.8t owner here! Absolutely love mine, super solid even with 234k miles. Easily the best interior in its class, and the powertrains are rock solid and very well documented. Also bought mine as a total sheetbox for $600, so HA!
I bought a 2014 nissan juke nismo 6spd and it rips! With full Bolton's and tune I am now at 257 whp and 300ft lb tq , not to mention that its actually pretty lite weight at around 2800lbs it really moves and make all the cool turbo noises. I paid $10k after my trade is of $2k
I got my GTI GLX for $800 and It immediately got the Jetta front end swap. Now I'm throwing some wheels, tires, and suspension on it (paint coming later of course)
Swag Baby Yoda that is true. U do have to change a lot of the cars gaskets, make sure the turbos are good and that they hpfp is solid as well as the water pump. Then make sure all the lines are solid. The newer n55 and b58 motors are much more reliable now as far as having those accessory parts more reliable
How you gonna list the Speed 6 with out listing the Speed 3? They are almost the same anyway, but slap some new motor mounts in and new fuel pump internals and you got a solid reliable daily
speed 6 is a way better car than speed 3 and has awd . And yea you you might get lucky and buy a speed 3 for under 10k but most under that price range are trash and beat to shit. The nice ones cost more than 10k still
I wouldn’t go as far to say way better because I myself love some torque steer :) I guess another issue would be rust depending where you live ofc. Im more of hatch kinda guy rather than sedan. I have driven both and loved them both. The speed 6 feels bigger to me though, so Id say Speed 3 > Speed 6. Also, if I remember correctly the Speed 6 isn’t even completely AWD, just when it needs to be. I could be wrong though
I had an 04 mazda 6, dark blue with black leather interior, moon roof and bose speakers that car was 👌🏼👌🏼 picked it up for $2500 engine crapped out in only 2 years but man was that speed 6 sexy as hell
Boi. Jetta TDI..... pick one up for 2-4k. Spend a few grand on a turbo kit and all the jazz with it. You can get a 90hp motor to 200hp.... and 400+ ft torque all day long and still get 40+ MPG.
I love turbo cars. Especially when Toyota from different country offers a tiny ass 1.2L turbo makes 116 hp, it is underpowered but its an awesome little turbo engine and I love them. But nothing is more enjoyable than seeing and watch those MOE POWA turbocharged Supra, subies, evo’s, etc etc.
The speed6 is an absolutely great car! I miss mine so much. Terrible gas mileage but made all the right sounds. Never had a reliability issue and great in the snow. If you can find a clean one, they’re great cars. Just take care of the high pressure fuel pump before that engine blows up lol
That Mazda was a surprise to me. Being at the time in my life where kids and dogs are part of my every day led me to to SG bodystyle Forester XT. 250ish horsepower, turbo 2.5L, and enough interior space to hold a dresser.
I might be bias since I am a huge Honda fan, but an 8th gen SI is the way to go. I drive 60,000km per year so I need reliable more than performance. Currently in a static 9th gen on Avid wheels, quite happy
I've seen all of these cars below 10k in decent shape. B5 audi s4 2.7tt B5 or b6 audi a4 1.8t B7 audi a4 2.0t Mini cooper s Volkswagen cc 2.0t 90s 00s volvo 5 cylinder cars Saab 9-3 turbo Ford probe gt. Was also going to include the chevy sonic and dodge dart but I feel like they're more for the fuel economy Eagle talon Nissan 300zx
If you want a cheap turbo, could considerr a Saab. For 2.5k you should find a nice 9-5 Aero 2.3. You can have a manual, and you can have a wagon. 260 HP stock and making it double that apparently isn't even difficult, It'll just handle like a mid-size train. Both that and a speed 6 are definitely on my 'to own' list, and I beg you, youtube people, please stop telling the world about the speed 6. I just need them cheap until I can afford two cars.
I used to have a turbocharged cobalt and man it was a good ass car I adored it. It made me change my perspective on chevy because im a Toyota/honda guy. The car was basically given to me by a relative and it wasnt my taste at first. but man that ecotec was reliable as hell and it could hold it own against damn near every car i raced.
I think the 1g and 2g eclipse gst or gsx are a both two affordable tuner cars. They make 210hp from factory and with just a fuel pump, injectors, and turbo you can make around or over 300hp. Also the gsx is basically a two door evo since the dsms have the glorious 4g63t. The can be bought for under 7 grand for a nice one and I found 3 under 2300. And I live in Wi
Wbu the under the radar car the Volvo C30’s have some power and torque and are pretty cheap to get your hands on I love my 09 C30 T5 r design always blows people away cause they don’t even think it’s fast cause it’s a Volvo till they see my tail lights 😊
p* is even better. i have a 2001 v70 t5 and im stage 3'ing it. got a exhaust and dp, intake, light suspension right now. intercooler and rims and tune incoming. it already makes about 260-270 i love it.
So I've made the decision to save up for the original Godzilla; the Nissan R32. It'll run me like 13.5k and 6 years of saving, but it'll all be worth it. I know this is an "under 10k" vid, but I might as well go for gold and pay cash for what I want. Much love to all my fellow enthusiast and gear heads. ✊🏽😁
I don't have it when I was younger but I think it needs mentioned, vauxhall/opel astra h vxr. not available outside of europe and maybe australia, but 240bhp standard in a stylish hatchback, that had the nurburgring fwd world record for a while. not the most reliable cars, but for anything from £2k to £8k depending on edition, its certainly a great car for the money
A completely underrated turbo car for under 10 grand would also be an 06-12 Saab 9-3 aero. Turbo V6 with a 6 speed manual in either fwd or AWD (probably not under 10 grand for AWD). Either way Saab gets overlooked a lot of the time but the V6 actually offers quite the tuning platform
probably the most fun turbo car ever for under 10k, is the Fiat 500 turbo/Abarth. there is nothing better when you pull up to a wrx and smoke him. (and yes he dumped it at like 4k spining all four)
Awhh so that’s why my full bolt on e30 meth tuned fusion 1.6 ecoboost beat a wrx in a drag race like he got me off the line but I pulled him down but I also forget that methanol really really helps with the top end power
I remember going to the drag strip for my first time in my stock block turbo 350z. The guy I lined up against was a SRT4 with a ton of work and drag radials. He started giving me advice on what to do and I was like yeah dude whatever. I put bus lengths on him and set the street tire record for 350zs. Never saw him again.
Living in Wisconsin trying to find affordable sporty cars in decent condition for a reasonable price is rough. Basically gotta take a road trip unless you want to spend an extra 1-2k for the convenience of not having to drive far to get the car.
Thank you, finally some light at the end of a dark tunnel...need more channels talking about cobalts....they arent as bad as everyone makes them out to be....yea its a chevy...but its a good chevy lol
A bmw 335i/335d is always a good option in my eyes. Plenty of power and torque, available in coupe, sedan, or hardtop convertible all around 10k for one with less than 100k on it
Cool list but 2 minor errors 1. The Caliber srt-4 engine is not neon's one, it's actually one similar to the 4b11t and the genesis' 2.0t 2. The bugeye is 2002-2003 in North America
Another good one that makes GOBS of power that cost under 10k is the N54 335i. You can get over 400rwhp with bolt ons, tune and e85. Just make sure the previous owner(s) took care of some of the common issues that the n54 has.
No Cruze turbo diesel i got a 2014 2.0l one for my first car it makes 151hp stock but dam does it have some balls and you can definitely hear the turbo
The F10 BMW 535i is creeping into the sub $10k price range. Nice interiors, N55 engine that can make good power with bolt ons and a tune, and the M Sport package cars look mean.
I've been asking for a so you want a N54, whatever, keep sleeping on it, I get looks all the time when I pass by, why yes sir this isn't a 328 and it can go 😏
For a daily, nothing beats a hatch. If you can get past the stigma and looks, the HHR SS would be my pick. Going from a hatch to a sedan as a daily is one of my biggest regrets.
The Acura RDX Turbo should have been on the list. Some coil overs and some off-road wheels and tires could turn it into a rally monster. And they can be found for less than 10k.
Saab. Although they died as a brand their turbo v6 can make 500-600whp with just larger turbo and injectors… also in an awd platform. Oh and tunable, for free, using a program on your laptop and a usb to obd2 scanner cord.
Either saab 9-3 aero 2006+ or Saab 9-5 aero 2005+. Tuned the v6 in the 9-3 can put out 300+hp and gobs of torque with just bolt ons. Saab 9-5 with bolt ons and tune can also do 300+ hp on the b235r
Tbh. I'd go with a Twin- Turbo 300Zx. You can still find them in decent condition. But the market is starting to trend up for them. A little money into it and it'll start going up in value.
i mean the fiat 500 abarth is a pretty fun car can find quite a few of em under 10k and even though only starting with 160hp slap a bigger turbo on there and boom going towards 200 on a little thing like that its like "damn" and btw it sounds fuggin gooooooooooooooooood
Video ideas: drift cars under $10,000 and PLEASE best cars for tall people. I'm 16, 6'4" and I am so freaking sick of how good miatas are because I won't fit
Does a Nissan 350z count as a "turbo" car under $10,000? I know that car is basically my childhood dream car. Also I think the Subaru Impreza WRX bugeye STI is a good turbo car of my choice in my opinion.
You should’ve added saab 9-3 aero 2.8t it’s an awd turbo v6 manual compact sedan capable of serious numbers and it’s different and on the east coast at least can be snagged for around $3000-$5000

I was hoping they had a t5 car on here. I have an s40 t5 and its a blast.
I’d personally go with the v70r because I’m a wagon person myself. I actually own an 850 wagon with the m56 manual
There about to go up in price if they make a video
Volvo s60r is a very good pick, can find under 10k, has 300hp factory, and is a VERY safe car too

Neil Craig bet you don’t drive one haha I’ve never even seen one on the road so where exactly is it basic

The F10 BMW 535i is creeping into the sub $10k price range. Nice interiors, N55 engine that can make good power with bolt ons and a tune, and the M Sport package cars look mean.
No N54? That's the best option for under 10k period
Amen! A simple tune and bolt ons you can push 400+ hp
I was only watching to see if they mentioned n54 lmao
@@jakev3794 Same. Haha
I've been asking for a so you want a N54, whatever, keep sleeping on it, I get looks all the time when I pass by, why yes sir this isn't a 328 and it can go 😏
Yeah until something breaks
Really happy to have picked the mazda 6 over a civic si......
Serious question for all:
Would it be a good idea to daily a Cobalt SS?
🤔
It was made assuming all of it's drivers will do so. So yeah. Definitely better than a SRT-4
For a daily, nothing beats a hatch. If you can get past the stigma and looks, the HHR SS would be my pick.
Going from a hatch to a sedan as a daily is one of my biggest regrets.
@@be_easy001 personally I think the HHR looks sick!
I've wanted a WRX STI since I was a kid playing rally games
YAY they mentioned the Jetta
What wheel is under the white pearl 1552's?
Kansei KNP - www.fitmentindustries.com/store/wheels?brand=Kansei&wmodel=KNP
I had a speed6 and it decided to go Voom Voom boom and big turbo so I bought a speed3 instead and love it
The Acura RDX Turbo should have been on the list. Some coil overs and some off-road wheels and tires could turn it into a rally monster. And they can be found for less than 10k.
10k would get me a full engine and transmission swap + wheels, tires, suspension, and some interior work on my 91 civic.
Passats never get love lol. I got a passat with the 1.8T and 5 speed manual. Its a fun car. Just a little heavier then the jetta but still fun
What about the Saab 9-5 aero?
I'd get a NA miata for $3000-5000 and turbo it
sadly they only have 2 seats though :/
I’m about to buy a 335i, thank you for not putting them in the video. 🙌🏼
Howd it go?
Tbh. I'd go with a Twin- Turbo 300Zx. You can still find them in decent condition. But the market is starting to trend up for them. A little money into it and it'll start going up in value.
Saab 9-3 turbos are hella underrated
FINALLY ive been waiting for this video sheesh 😒
i mean the fiat 500 abarth is a pretty fun car
can find quite a few of em under 10k and even though only starting with 160hp slap a bigger turbo on there and boom going towards 200 on a little thing like that its like
"damn"
and btw it sounds fuggin gooooooooooooooooood
I found a 1990 supra for just under 10k. I know it's not the most common supra but man thats a hard thing to pass up
Thumbnail is @chrispywrx such a sick ride, and a great guy!
Video ideas: drift cars under $10,000 and PLEASE best cars for tall people. I'm 16, 6'4" and I am so freaking sick of how good miatas are because I won't fit
03+ Saab 93 2.0T is the best bang for buck power in the game, 6mt, 270hp and 300tq with a tune. Super cheap, I got mine with 110k for 2600
Where do I get parts for mine? Can't find them anywhere for my 06 saab 2.0T
I bought a very nicely modded evo for 7k best car in the world
FC Turbo II RX-7 😳
