I have a Lexus Sc300 not a fast car by any means but it’s literally bulletproof and just won’t die. So far I’ve been dealing with a malfunctioning car alarm and a loose wiper lead.
I’ve got an Audi TT mk2 and, while I’m currently upping the hp significantly, it is very fun to drive, can get as much as 40 mpg if you drive it at the speed limit, and has the same 2.0 Turbo that is in a huge number of vw’s and audis so parts are affordable and plentiful. And mods are plentiful too as most mods work from vw’s to audis across the lineup.
My ls swapped 88 Ford ranger is a pretty awesome little mini muscle truck. Got it all done with a 427 kit done on the ls for 7 grand. Love my little shoplifter.
Funny how I got the first 2 cars featured lol but everyone misunderstood the GTO. Americans tried to make it muscular, mostly because of its name, but that car can actually handle. A lot of people back then tried to fit muscle car wheels on it but it just didn't look right, maybe that's why it didn't click in the looks department considering the limited options due to the over positive offset. Surprisingly, you can fit BMW wheels/Euro style wheels in there and it looks perfect. Even the new Civic Type R spec wheels fit in them. It's safe to say the GTO is the perfect import GM had that got away lol

Personally the ls400 is one of the best cars if ever owned for reliability and fun, just under 300 hp and a bullet proof engine that sounds great, technically a 4 door sedan grandpa car that weighs 4000 lbs but it always spun the tires on command and swung around every corner without complaints, not to mention... Ive raced a 350z and was parallel with them from 40 all the way to 100. Seriously underrated cars
I wanted a RELIABLE "sports car" or something really cool for daily driving and looked all over last month. I ending up going with a nice MKIII Toyota Supra. Not exactly sure why he overlooked Toyota in this list, but I did NOT want to mess around with domestic. It's more of a GT, than sports car, but It's probably more upgradable than most of these he talked about. I'm perfectly fine with my NA model though. It's a fun car and it looks almost like nothing else on the road. The head gasket has been changed so it should be good to go for a very long time.
My favourite car I’ve owned was a e92 335 coupe. Reliable too. Only 1 repair in over 100,000 Km. radiator went at like 130 but that’s bound to happen. Had a g35 coupe before that and it was fun but the build quality is kinda crap. The leather got warped pretty quick. 1 of the Bose subwoofers died, and the window regulators are a nightmare. Failing all the time. Driving experience was fun but not as good as the 335.
Pro tip: Pull up consumables before you buy any of these... don't just look at the initial price. For example, a car that uses parts from an Australian car is a pain in the ass...and a car that needs huge tires is gonna be a pain to deal with unless you have the budget. I found out the hard way that huge brake rotors are not cheap...
Unpopular opinion, rx8. I know I know, Apex seals. But if you go into it with that as an expected ware item, they really are not bad. Keep em cool and oiled and they are fantastic fun
I think everybody forgot about VOLVO. if you want powerful coupe/convertible you can look into T5 p80 platform made till 2003 or even newer platforms like T6 and POLESTAR sedans and estates really fun and reliable cars.
If you plan to "track day" 5 days a week 200km's per day - gt86 NA no cat hands down less drama (personally experienced) Just spend your time reading forums/blogs/TSBs for known issues and less downtime
Chevy Camaro is arguably a poor mans Corvette and deserves to be on this list even though they butchered the styling in 2019 and it really has never recovered. Kind of a shame too because the powertrain is stout and the interior is nicely screwed together.
Add to the list M50 engined BMW's, 90s era performance VW's with the VR6 12V, the 2.0 16V ABF and heck if your a diesel person the AFN TDI. Oh and Volvos
I’m planning on trading in my 16 civic and to get a 370z so I’m really glad to hear they are reliable from both y’all and forums I’ve looked through (:
If you can find a decent one, the genesis coupe is a fun car 2.0t and 3.8. not much after market support for them, more for the 2.0t but they are pretty fun from personal experience

BMW *exists* ….
Reliability is a quantifiable aspect of a vehicle. I 100% agree with the “respect all builds” sentiment but ones love of a platform does not change how reliable it is. It’s either reliable or it isn’t.
For the past year I’ve owned a 1997 Ford thunderbird and honestly it’s been one of the most fun cars I’ve own. For what you can get them for they are a SC v6 or NA v8 and rwd. My online bud with a 2017 says the same. I went with an 88' Supra myself. His seems like a really nice car and hell we both got Toyotas so not sure why either isn't on this list.
Too bad the cheapest one I found was $10k and it needs work. I'd get one but people are nuts for these things. Not to mention a miata is faster stock vs stock. About 2 seconds faster to 60 actually lol. If the brz dropped to at least like 5k with some minimal work needed it'd be a way more feasible option. Shit I'd almost rather get a dart rallye. The 1.4 turbo can handle a good amount of power. The only problem is the manual transmissions suck ass.
@@jerodwolford2743 Picked up my NA/Auto Supra from $8K recently. That's certainly a lot for one of those but only 115K and it's in excellent shape. They are certainly GT cars, not sports cars, waaay too heavy for that. Unlike the Miata though, you can drop a completely absurd amount of power into a Supra if you want to go that route. Even my 94' Camry is more nimble than this thing, but doesn't feel NEARLY as solid. Never owned a vehicle I've had this much fun with or was so proud to show off.
The gto may be reliable but they're ridiculously expensive to insure. I wanted one so bad until I got an insurance quote.
Have you checked for a g8 Gt idk if it’ll be better but it is a 4 door so might help
@@bransykora4462 no I haven't. The issue with the GTO is that all the parts are imported from Australia so they're very expensive to repair after an accident and a lot of them end up just being totaled because it costs too much to get replacement parts. @@afout07 oh I didn’t even think of that , that’s really lame

I can't speak for everyone here, but my focus st has been extremely fun and the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Coming up on 3 years of ownership without a single problem. My FoST is by far the best car I've owned. Interior and exterior and power is super nice in comparison to alot in its class. I got the pre facelift (13) and I'd honestly never get rid of her. Glad to see a video with cars that are actually reliable, not 1 BMW mentioned

My favourite car I’ve owned was a e92 335 coupe. Reliable too. Only 1 repair in over 100,000 Km. radiator went at like 130 but that’s bound to happen.
