I’ve been looking for a natural strawberry cake recipe for MONTHS and after a few trail and error cakes I gave up. This one looks simple and most importantly you’re not using jello powder! I’m gonna try this soon!
I tried this strawberry cake recipe and it’s the best cake I’ve ever had. Warning: it’s very sweet so cut the sugar a bit if you are not a fan of super sweet cakes. I strongly recommend adding in the lemon zest. I did add extra pink food coloring and about a 1/2 Tsp of strawberry extract and it was perfect.
I just made this strawberry cake (with marscapone whipped cream frosting instead of buttercream) and I have to say, this was fantastic! The batter was too thick when I combined the wet and dry ingredients, so I added a few splashes of milk to thin it down. It turned out in the end like something between strawberry cake and a rich shortbread. In fact, I served myself a slice with a bunch of fresh strawberries, and it was better than any strawberry shortcake dessert I'd ever had. From now on, this cake recipe will be my new "Strawberry Shortcake" recipe! Thank you!
I made this today for my family . I did both of the lemon and strawberry frosting you made and did what you said when you put both piping bags into another 1 and mix the two. It was SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! Out of all the pastries I’ve ever attempted to make, this is the only recipe that my family finished in one night . Will definitely make again and again

I learn a significant step watching this video. Using so many eggs changes the color of the batter. Note the egg yolks effect the pink color we're searching for. Separating the egg is a great step; I can see the yellow yolks affecting the batter nice rose color.
Just tried this today!!! It’s so good, I used Ermine Frosting instead of the american buttercream. I made my own strawberry preserves since I only had fresh strawberries on hand. I also used yogurt instead of sour cream. Really glad I found your channel through this recipe! Wish I doubled the recipe because I baked it in a 9 inch pan I think. And I baked the batter all in one pan. It turned out thinner than I wanted it to be but I still managed to cut it in half and place frosting + chopped strawberries in between the cake layers.
Your decorated cakes are some of the prettiest I've seen! I love your style! It's not heavy, the flowers are extra pretty and it's not "too much". Some people decorate cakes and there's more frosting than cake, gives me diabetes just looking at it.
I made this cake for my husband's birthday since Strawberry cake is his favorite; before i knew how to bake by scratch i of course made his cake from a box. He's a very picky eater and he was in love with this cake lol he now wants nothing to do with the boxed version, he wants this to be his forever birthday cake :)
I've made arieties of this cake using fresh blackbberries, cherries, rasberries, and blueberries with appropriate . I frost with a matching butterccream or a Russian frosting (chilled condensed milk and butter with vanilla flavoring). It's a winner and so are you. Thank you.

My only problem is when I'm multitasking I sometimes forget to put them on...I made this cake without them, but it still turned out super tasty. The buttercream melted right into the cake when I bit into it. So delicious.

Definitely trying this, I’ll substitute the food coloring and use some strawberry reduction mixed with a few drops of beet juice for the roses to get a redder color and use lemon peels to make a lemon reduction for a more brighter yellow color for the filling 🥰

I make a strawberry puree for my strawberry cake. Just dice the strawberries and a small bit of sugar then blend in the food processor. Then instead of food coloring i use a small amount of strawberry jello mix. It adds a beautiful color and makes it soo moist.
In case nobody has mentioned this - you said “about 2 pounds of confectioners sugar” and the text on the screen said 2 lbs or 2 kgs. Please not 2 kg! That’s almost 4.5 pounds! Love your videos!

You make everything so fun and no stress! when I was taught to make the roses in my decorating class they wanted us to pipe their bases but what you did is so much easier. thank you for all of your great videos! 💕
In my coffee bean grinder, I ground up freeze dried strawberries and that flavored and colored my frosting, for those that hate straining like I do haha
I know this is two years later... but maybe someone else wonders. In other videos he is shown using a damp paper towel, carefully wiping further out from the cake. Then what I do is use a sort of sharp, folded point of the damp paper towel to get closer to the cake for the small amount of frosting left on the plate nearest the cake frosting. Slow and steady, no rush.
That is absolutely gorgeous I love how you do the Rose's you must enjoy doing your baking as I do my baking I like to take my time and I want it to be beautiful even though it's going to be ate. I just love watching you make the Roses it's truly perfection.
@@PreppyKitchen I am just baking now but there is something soo off with measures. Somehow 1 and 3/4 cup of flour is 213g but whole cup of sugar is 205g... logically it makes no sense; then 1/4 cup of milk is 60g meaning that a cup should be 240g... but above it was 205g..
Kamila Trzasko I'm no expert, but I think it has to do with the weight of the ingredients, respectively. For example, you take a cup and fill it with cotton balls and it's very light. Then you take another cup and fill it with stones and it's a lot heavier. I'm not sure if that's that you meant in your question (that I tried to answer even though it wasn't directed at me).
