I got about 3k rounds of the wolf back when it was only 25c a round but now I reload for about 50-55c per round

@@meanman6992 AK is lower performance, but if someone wants 6.5G ballistics out of a platform as long lasting as the AK, that's their choice.
In a podcast they said they're pretty much done with the AK platform. They're releasing one last AK variant and then they're done with the platform because they not as popular as they were before the Russian ammo ban. They could have changed their minds, but I doubt it. They have so many other projects in the works.

Get one of the ar 15 magwell kits and get a rpk profile 6.5 Grendel barrel an give it to a gunsmith. It's what I did last year works like a beauty

+1 for 6mm ARC. Have a couple and they shoot quite nicely. The black tip version could turn out to be a very spicy round.

What I'd love to see are some options that focus on accuracy and that aren't $1.40+ a round. The testing of these AAC offerings seem to be hovering around the 1.5"+ area. I love Hornady ammo but they aren't exactly wowing me with their 6.5 Grendel offerings these days, especially at those prices.
Hopefully we see some light weight varmint stuff!

Not much of a stretch to load 6mm ARC as well. Although the Hornady brand stuff is getting a little cheaper.
Are you going to be following with 6 ARC? Also, would have been nice to get a better look at the gel blocks with them static afterward instead of only while they are falling off the table.
I’d like you to sell nice 6mm Arc & 6.5Grendel, 18” lightweight AR15’s painted camo with 3.5lb triggers & no sights, set up for hunting.

Awesome. Can we have some specifics on the 123 black tip? Namely, minimum expansion velocity and g7 bc? Is this equivalent to a 123sst?
Or is this less not a controlled expansion bullet suitable for deer hunting and more of a match (eldm?) Or varmint (vmax?)

What barrel
lengths is optimal for 6.5
12.5 is the shortest you’ll want to go (still performs well), 18” is a sweet spot. You can squeeze more out of it the longer you go
Depends on what u want out of it. Like some cartridges it does do well out of shorter barrels compared to other ones but like any bullet it goes faster the more barrel u give it.
Looking at the numbers u get
2238 fps at the muzzle with a 14.5" and 1435 ft lbs
With a 16" u get 2310 and 1529
With a 20" u get 2391 and 1638
Take other people's data with a grain of salt though.
Hi! I have a 6.5gren in 12.5 and 18. I use the 12.5 for when I am walking around and hunting, and I have the 18 for when I am static. The difference for me is weight when I am hiking in and out of rough country.
The previous commentators are correct when they say 12.5 and 18 are the best compromises on length in my experience as well.
With this news, I will be getting a suppressor for the 12.5.

Basically it's long range viability. More speed with similar or better B.C. is going to lead to less wind drift and flatter trajectory.
Also lighter bullets are available in 6mm making 6Arc more viable for varmints.

It'll be the usual roll-out I'm guessing..... Out of stock minutes after an announcement and production will catch up after several months....as it was with their 77gr OTM's.

Is AAC getting the projectiles from Hornady then loading it up themselves or is Hornady contracted to do all the loading?
PSA has their own ammo plant...AAC....plenty of videos to watch on it. As was stated in this video, Hornady makes the pills for PSA.....PSA then, through AAC, does everything else.

to be fair, long range precision is usually the domain of pricier ammo. a dollar per round isn't bad.
Long range ammo and 'way down prices' don't fit in the same sentence.
Well there you go, 70 cents for FMJ. How long is long range to you? Do you have a 1000 yard range? Maybe a 1500 yard range?
