    Looking forward to 545.
    Consider doing 6mm max. It solves all the problems 6 arc has in AR-15.
    6max just needs affordable ammo. Buy a barrel and some duranag mags and you're set. Same bcg.

      6mm max isn’t comparable to 6 arc though

    • @markreynolds6715
      @markreynolds6715 Месяц назад

      @@bedngrs yeah if you want hot 6mm rounds for bolt action, then go 6arc. If you want something easy and no new expensive bcg, then 6 max. Way better than 556. Probably less than 6arc. But over 100 for arc mags and 3400 for a geisselle.
      Get me affordable 6max ammo and I have self defense, hunting, and fun. And standard parts. I don't want to pay more for rifles than necessary.

    • @bedngrs
      @bedngrs Месяц назад

      @@markreynolds6715 look, all I’m saying is 6 arc/6 max is apples and oranges.
      6 max is a lot closer to 5.56 in 77gr than anything else
      6arc is more comparable to 6.5 Grendel
      But… almost everything you stated is pretty exaggerated
      - 6 max breaks bolts in exactly the same way as 6 arc, neither use standard 5.56 bolts
      - Both 6 max and 6 arc cost the same in parts to upgrade, and both require specific magazines for them which are readily available and affordable
      - Geiselle is always crazy expensive, even in 5.56
      - 6 arc is specifically designed for the AR15, and actually a bit slow. The heavy aerodynamic 108gr bullets make up for the speed. A bolt gun would use a 6mm Creedmoor or 6BR
      - 6 max cannot take the large aerodynamic projectiles in 6mm. So a heavy aerodynamic bullet in 22 can outperform it at certain distances
      - 6.5 Grendel outperforms 6 max in aerodynamics and energy, has reasonable cheap ammo, and cheap parts
      I don’t know what has you all excited about 6 max, which is fine, but it’s never going to grow to be a thing as it doesn’t offer anything worth the impedance of switching

    • @markreynolds6715
      @markreynolds6715 Месяц назад

      @@bedngrs it takes a standard 556 bcg. I like simple and strong. Everything is a compromise. But if my life is on the line l trust normal bolts and less expensive bolts. I haven't heard of any breakage on 6max. Whereas from people who run 6arc hard they've reported breaking bolts. 6arc seems like they're shoe horning it into an AR-15. 6max seems like it just barely fits in ar15 size rifles. We probably just disagree on the philosophy of use. 6arc needs a cmmg47 receiver. Which they should have done from the beginning

    • @bedngrs
      @bedngrs Месяц назад

      @@markreynolds6715 not throwing shade, but your showing that you just haven’t shot that much. Standard 556 bolts break all the time. Folks carry a spare bolt for range day as standard practice.
      SOLGW made their name on better bolts for 556, and they are the ones backing 6 max. Great company, but biased marketing. You haven’t heard about failing 6 max bolts because it’s so new, backed by a higher end bolt manufacturer, not because it’s significantly better design. They fail the same as any 556, more actually since you’re putting more powder into the same area. You really need a different bolt for the 6 max. SOLGW bolts aren’t exactly cheap(and they make a great 6 arc bolt too)
      If you get cheap guns, you should pack spares. If you cannot accept failures, you’re looking at high end. That’s just the facts of life
      6.5 Grendel pioneered the bolt issues for 6 arc over a decade ago, all the qualities good and bad are known at this point. You can expect reliability if you want it, or go cheap if you that’s your game
      If you want best bang for your buck quality, you cannot touch 223 with a 76gr or even 88 gr projectiles.
      This idea that you can build a fighting grade reliable 6 max hot rod for cheap is all hype

    Same width brass, but much thicker projectile which shouldn't need such a long barrel as the Rock 5.7, while retaining the extra capacity advantage.
    It would make the Rock Compact idea a lot more viable as a concealed carry option.
    Just think of a P365 XL sized gun with 18 or 20 round capacity, kind of like the 30 super idea, but with the 5.7 brass and a heavier projectile like a 77gr 556 round.

    would like to see a ballistic gel test for all rounds, as well as chronograph readings for science. would also like to see AAC556tmk1-20, AAC556smk1-20, .357 fmj and xtp, 10mm fmj and xtp, and maybe even some of that shortly ran 45 lc. Huge fan of the company!

    I'd be interested in seeing some shorter barrel length testing. 7.5" 5.56 tested with 75 and 77 grain. 5.5" or 6" .300 BLK tested with 110. 12.5" .308 150 black tip and 12.5" 6.5 Grendel black tip tested as well.

    I see lots of gel, but I don't see too much of the AAC (particularly interested in the saber black) actually hunting deer or hogs. Wonder if you could work some of that into your lineup?

    Couldn't tell much as everything was a complete pass through. Would be nice to slow this down a bit and break this series down by caliber. Place 2 blocks end to end and try to capture bullets so we can see better how they performed. The .45 & 9mm rounds did not appear to expand at all, thus defeating the point of being hollow points.
