I'm super excited to see the reviews on this one. I've been debating on the 6.5 grendel for a while now. I really think it would make a better deer cartridge for my son.
You my friend are what we call an enabler. I had to unsubscribe from Palmetto State email list.. As I could see my habit getting out of control.. And now you come along with this.. Seriously I'm really looking forward to your review on this rifle. I just assembled a lower with nothing to put on top.. This looks like a great topper.. Thanks for the videos
I got into this cartridge with some reciever parts a couple of years ago. I have completely adopted it. I have my 5.56 rifles and my 6.5 rifles. I have a heavy 22" match build and a 16" chf carbine build. No one really talks about this cartridge. It is proven and dominates the other non-5.56 ar15 cartridges in real world applications.
I absolutely love my PSA AR. I've had it for a few years now and it's always a pleasure to shoot. I can't wait to see the range video for this 6.5. Good stuff my friend.
I am a big fan of PSA as well. .224 Valkyrie and 6.5 Grendel uppers with PSA and Anderson lowers. I'm using rise armament ra-140 3.5 lb single stage triggers. Very pleased. Always enjoy your videos, showing you can get great quality without paying a fortune for a great MSR. Appreciate all your vids.
Very cool, K. Looking forward to seeing what performance you get. I recently bought the same as an upper from PSA, to put on my Ruger MPR lower. I picked up a couple boxes of every flavor of ammo I could find, hoping to see if there's something this rifle prefers. Now, I just need to get it to the range. It's a bit chillier here in Michigan than where you are, but here's hoping!
That ammo is expensive so i bought 500 rounds of wolf 6.5 grendel I like your ar and mine is a diamondback The grendel uses the same case as the 7.62x39
Nice camera work.Nice looking rifle.I look forward to your shooting it.I built a Grendel about 2 yrs. ago,but unfortunately,it shot the Hornady 123 ELD load only so so.I ended up with a handload utilizing 130 Bergers and I am amazed at what that little rifle can do.Good luck!
I bought a PSA lower for my grendal build so far been running fine . I was really hesitant about going with this caliber but I think it will be fine for hogs and deer. I change the stock to a Ergo stock because I have long arms.
FYI. PPU has completed their corrections and testing on 6.5 grendel. I have an ar15 with a match bull barrel and was getting sub moa groups. I returned over 960 rounds to them when they had the recall. They are sending me some samples in 2 weeks according to Marta. She contacted me yesterday. Hopefully it is equal or better in performance and also brings down the cost of 6.5 grendel. For comparison, i was getting maybe a touch better out of the Hornady ELD. I was getting light primer strikes from the old PPU. Since then I've put a heavier spring in.
I'm more of a revolver and 1911 guy, but I enjoyed that look see. Basically I have a stock AR and train with it. Yours is the first video I've seen that makes me want to go deeper into design and features.
I have an 11 inch 556 PSA upper on my SBR, I have fired over 4000 rounds through it and I have never had one malfunction, I've run it through 3 combat carbine courses, night time and low light as well as home defense, for $329 can't beat it. Curious why PSA currently offers 6.5 Grendel uppers with barrels of 20", 18", and 12", but not in 16"? Is there something about 6.5G ballistics that makes 18" significantly more efficient than 16"? maybe related to twist rate and ability to handle the heavier-for-caliber end of the bullets weight range?
Really looking forward to the range video. Can you tell if the rifling is 5R or 6. I’m looking for an upper and was thinking about a Satern Barrel, but if the PSA shoot sub MOA I’ll probably just go with that.
