Always resort to cleaning the IAC before swapping it out.
I have been cleaning mine a good while now and ive decided to swap it out due to bouts of erratic idle and the odd stall now and again.

Thanks for the great video..really helpful..ive got a 2006 roadking custom..got a p0505 error code as shes running very high idle and engine warning light goes . So switch off . Do you think its the iac as butterfly body was clean or an air leak somewhere..just want to avoid a high hd service bill . Cheers
Sir i wanna ask, i was using IAC that can manualy setup the idle then i change it to genuine IAC, when i firing the bike all is good, but then when i ride the idle is gone, what do you think about that? Thank you
Im not familiar with a manual IAC .. ive heard of manual idle control but my knowledge on that is non existant im sorry. I wouldnt want to try and give my pointer or what i would do for it to be wrong

Is your problem with the low idle/stall resolved? Did replacing the IAC fix it ?

I have a 2004 superglide and sometimes its going crazy in idle when i pull the clutch coming to a stop and worsens when i put it in neutral ,,have to switch off the bike for it to stop...what do you recon mate? Is it because of this sensor? Appreciate any input..
Have a look at my other video cleaning the IAC first . If the problem is still there check for air leaks. If no air leaks are present id be switching out the IAC valve for sure. Check back and let us no the outcome Good luck

I literally done the work and made this video yesterday then uploaded. I gave it a spin of around 5 miles and it seemed to have. Will update when i have took it a good run and post a short video
Hello i'm struggling for 1 year now.. i replaced the iac but the idle is crazy high at startup. Bought a new iac and now it's low cannot start without gas.
I'm confused do we need to adjust the iac's plunger ?
Are you sure you dont have an air leak anywhere ? Deffo no adjustment in these valaves
@@harleyloco1853 no I don't think so, just disassembled the throttle body and put it back in so .. what is strange is whether it's the new or the old IAC the idle run differently even if I'm just replacing the IAC...
