Nice review Thomas. I bought a couple of cheap analog racers recently and have been practicing on some gates that are set up in a park i fly. The one thing I'd say is that I go through some props, and I definitely prefer full size motor shafts with a single nut, because I'm putting new ones on all the time lol. Xt-60 and 4:3 camera is a must for me as well on a racer. The extra vertical fov is necessary as you get your split s's tighter, at least for me.
These are all good points, Bryan. I've used up all my props for this drone already. I wish this camera had 4:3, but it doesn’t. I think that was one of the few HD0 cameras available during the development of this drone.
@@OneManUnmanned I just passed it today. Just have the watch hours to get now. 3/4 way through. No I won’t be in Montreal this weekend. I’ve only been in my new apartment couple weeks so haven’t got the funds. Maybe next year. For now saving up for next quad and if Air 3 comes out!
Great review. The drone would be great for practicing racing and freestyle. Anyone who can fly in acro can become a race pilot just need time to practice on the sim and don't give up. Just takes time.
Hey Kris, I really don't remember what target I used. I may have used the DIY 2.4G target. It's generic, but gets the job done. I couldn't find any specs on the rx and that seemed to work. You could cycle the power quickly 3 times to put the RX into bind mode. Hope this helps and you're well.
@@OneManUnmanned Thanks for the reply. The issue is that I'm running ELRS 3.x.x on my radio, but the quad's receiver is on 2.x.x, so I'm a bit stuck and nervous that I might brick it or something. My experience with ELRS is limited. I've emailed Emax support and hopefully they can tell me a safe target to flash.
Once you get a reply from them, let me know. I'm curious as well. You MIGHT be successful in the interim if you tried the 3 power on/off method to put the rx into bind mode. Having said that, my radios were on 2.x firmware, not 3.x.
I have been racing with this quad and my only issue is crash flip mode. The small motors cant get out of any grass taller than a putting green so if i crash im out for the heat

When did you hit 4k damn! Congrats Thomas 🍻
Around the same time you hit 1K. In fact, I should be congratulating you...Keep pushing man. Are you going to the Grand Prix in Montreal?

I agree..Thanks for the encouragement.
Also had to chop some of the camera tpu off because I prefer a really steep camera angle
Very good tip.. Thanks Cam.
whats the flight time usually like on it?
Question, does the package come along with a controller? Or do you have to buy it separately
It does not come with a controller. You will have to buy it separately.
@@OneManUnmannedWhat controller can I buy to use it?
I’m not getting osd on my apex what do I do
Hey Thomas, do you know what the target is on the Apex? I tried choosing Emax 2.4GHz, but I got a warning that it was the wrong target.

@@OneManUnmanned Yeah, I tried the 3x power on... Definitely not compatible. I'll let you know if they reply, for sure.

Very good point, and did not think about that. I appreciate you sharing your insights with the community and helping other Pilots.
Sounds like you think it's "really really good"... 😂
It’s not bad, and haven’t experienced any faults with it.
