    Also, I advise pom owners interested in grooming their own fur babies, to begin as young as possible. Always introduce to the poms the tools that will be used on them, and treat them OFTEN!
    If you find yourself getting frustrated, STOP. they will feel that frustration. If ur just beginning, do small sections at a time for 5-10 mins in the beginning. Until u can get thru the entire fur baby at once.
    Treat, treat, TREAT! Place the scissors NEAR their fur, TREAT, PRAISE. Place the clippers near their foot pad, TREAT, PRAISE. Same for introducing a brush, hold it near them, TREAT , PRAISE! ive even allowed my poms just to lay with their grooming tools, so they KNOW its not items to be feared. The dremal, clippers, and HV dryer (noise makers ) turn them on, only going near the pom, TREAT, PRAISE!
    Let them get used to the noise a few times a day b4 even using it on the pommys. Like the groomer mentioned , its a long process that takes a ton of patients.
    Its easier to train and groom the POM's than it is for PEOPLE to learn the proper patients and techniques to get the job done..
    Never, get angry at ur fur babies.
    They are always learning what WE teach them.
    Treat , treat , treat. I use the smallest treats I can find (usually Merrick training treats for small breeds.) then my husband cuts them up into 4 . When ur training and treating u don't want a lot of time to go by for them to be chewing a treat. U want their attention back on what ur teaching. ...
    Sorry, I just wanted to add a lil of what I have learned over the yrs.
    20+ yrs ago, I did everything SO WRONG..
    and I'm so happy I enjoy learning and sharing. Its people like this groomer in the video that make learning and doing, so much fun..

      Wow, how wonderful to read your detailed tips on teaching a puppy to be groomed! Yes indeed, we as groomers are NEVER done learning! We can teach each other and learn so much from each other. We always want to make the grooming enjoyable for the dog because a groomer is happy when the dog (and owner) is happy!

    ( WANTING TO BREED)
    I have 2 pommy babies both tri color, my girl is tri, black, white, tan under 5lbs. 3yrs...
    My boy is chocolate, white & tan 5.5lbs. 2yrs...
    . I have watched and studied so many pom grooming videos, even the ones that are not in English.
    I REALLY appreciate how informative, precise, and beautifully you groomed Charlotte!
    U explained each step and section u went thru, so many groomers don't take the time to explain, show and teach.
    So I thank you for a beautifully groomed pom and wonderful video with instruction.
    I groom my pommys, and I still find it refreshing to check out videos. You never know when something will change, and I feel inspired when I watch a wonderful groomer in action. One can never have engh knowledge..
    If interested in breeding, please PM me, or comment to me. Thank you so much, and god bless.

      My last dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I loved him to the moon and back, but don't miss all the daily hear loss. So I went searching for a beautiful fluffy friend that doesn't lose hear every day
      I'm planning to buy a new dog this year and the Pomeranian is the perfect choice for me

    ooh i love the trick about mixing the soap first - my pom is 15 years old and I have always just put the shampoo ON her and then made the lather. I have always thought that just makes her more tangled... So I will try that. I have learned my lessons over the years that Stella gets to air dry a bit and she gets a break. Then she gets some blow drying and the combing/brush out is LAST. She stays nice looking for a long time. At 15 she still has a full beautiful coat as she's never been shaved!

    I love your videos! I’ve been watching grooming videos for many months now in preparation for the arrival of my poodle puppy! But I just found your channel and it is THE BEST!! Thanks so much for your amazing explanations and details! I’ve groomed and bathed all kinds of animals in my life but nothing so daunting as a Poodle. Excited to try!! I also have a 2.5 year old 70 lb. Great Pyrenees mix. Great Pyrenees are unfortunately filling the shelters and rescues here in the U.S. these last few years since the market for puppies has boomed and they aren’t the dog for just anyone. Anyhow, I mention it because I wonder if you might do a video with a Great Pyrenees? I joke that I give my Pyr “poodle feet” because she gets “grinch feet” and can slip on some floors. I trim her feet and then the next day they’re furry again!! Well, not that fast but almost!! Thanks again! I’m so enjoying all of your videos!!!

    I need you to groom my Cooper! His fur is as long as your first pup used as example. Minus the mats!!! He has on tiny one I need to trim out, i usually can detangle his bitty mats around his ears with the downy baby fur, so, so soft and silky, instant knots! I'm afraid to not find the correct groomer. So i have a big furball waiting for his 12/23 appt to be groomed. I wish i knew where you were!

    hi, i have a mittelspitz/german spitz. i used the force dryer on him with a round nossel, somehow it spun the fur and crated terrible knots that i had to cut out of his coat :Xit happened were his fur was very long on the butt and around his chest/mane. he is now 15months and he has droped most of the long coat he had as a puppy. but im still scared of force drying him :X i dont want it to happen again. do you have any advise? also do you line brush dogs with this kind of coat?

    • @TransgroomTV
      @TransgroomTV  2 года назад

      Hello , thank you so much for your message . happy to help you further in any way we can . to use the round nozzel , and not creating any knots in the hair, you need to have more distance between the coat and the dryer . we recommend at least 30cm distance , if you will hold it closer to the coat , you will make knots and turn / blow the hair in each other . thats the best way to prevent this . we have also a video how to blow dry the coat with long fur . please check this here on our channel .
      If we can help you, if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us . Kind regards.

    Does the temperature of where Charlotte live affect her coat? I live in a tropical region and I have never seen a double-coated dog with hair that thick. The "coldest" it ever gets here is 26-27°C. Hello, i completely understand your situation about the coat. And yes, you are right. its about the temperature that your Pomeranian doesn't have a thick coat.He doesn't need his coat, because of the warm and heat weather. The only thing we can advice is to keep your dog in a house or room with airconditioning. or to spray constantly his coat with cold water. Hope it all works out for you and your dogs coat for the best. Kind regards, Kitty

    I made mistake by letting the groomers style Boo cut with a saver on my Pomeranian when he was 2 years old. He is now 10 years old but his fur never grew the same way since, and I was only able to keep his fur short from then on. The fur never grew evenly. It was only the soft coat that covered his body trunk. Luckily his mane and tail were growing double coat still. His soft coat didn’t have the vibrant color, and clumped easily. What kind of brush and shampoo I might use for this type of problem?

      Hello Jessica, water in the dog's ears during bathing is no problem. As long as any shampoo or conditioner residue is rinsed out and the ear is dried properly afterwards, a little water can't hurt. It helps clear out all the wax and ear product residue from cleaning the ears. Kind regards

    How do u get them in a dog show? I have a pomeranian and she's gonna be 2 years old in May, and she doesn't let me cut her nails at all. I do alittle clipping on her butt because it gets in the way of her going poop, but that's all because ì don't want to mess up her fur by cutting it. She really needs to be groomed and her nails really needs to be clipped and she won't let me cut her nails at all and when ì do try to cut her nails she pulls away from me and ì afraid of really hurt her. My baby girl pomeranian Boots Rain she loves taking showers and baths. I'm disabled and don't drive or have anyone to take me to a groomer to get her groomed. Wish that some of the grooming people would come to the people's house to groomed the dogs.

    U do not wash them every week. So many things wrong with your way of grooming. U also don’t cut until they bleed that’s awful.

    • @TransgroomTV
      @TransgroomTV  4 года назад +3

      Hello Jessica, it is necessary to bathe the dog every week and most important to condition their coat. The conditioner closes the hair cuticle which prevents mats and tangles and makes the hair look shiny. In the summer, the hair dries out because of the heat. The dryer the hair, the more open the hair cuticle, the more frizzy the hair will be. It is advised to condition the dog once a week for this reason, especially when it is a show dog and the coat has to look shiny and healthy all year round.
      As for the nails, of course we never want the nails to bleed, but it can always happen. We try to cut the nail as short as possible for the comfort of the dog. Sometimes it is difficult to see the quick and there is a little blood. But that's why we have the stop bleed powder on hand to stop this bleeding immediately. Kind regards

      You're entitled to your opinion...but you don't have to be so rude.
      As for 'injuring' the dog ..how do you know if she REALLY injured her?
      Actually, the groomer was demonstrating WHAT TO USE IF THE NAIL IS CUT SHORT, AND WHAT TO HAVE ON HAND IF IT HAPPENS.
      SHE DID NOT SAY SHE INJURED THE PUP.

    • @pugsnpizza3262
      @pugsnpizza3262 3 года назад

      @@valerieneal2747 it's a fact when they bleed or its cut too close it hurts the animal. Do research. Talk to your vet. It's abuse to intentionally do that to a dog. No one is saying leave them long that's not any better. But you can learn to trim them short but where it doesn't hurt the animal. Her lack of knowledge that it does hurt the animal is why I posted a comment. Not all know that but a groomer should.
