i m in dunkirk here . i used too drive 18 wheeler . one of my boss i worked for used to have a rail account . where we come to rail yards to pu . trailers for csx and other rail company . to move the workers trailer called a tool trailer . for the guys who worked on the rail maintance , either the wood under the rail or for the steel rail maintance . i evan came to the rails yard just about 2-3 block from my house here . but also flordia and in ga. .pa . alot some where very tight to get in and turn around . ya right . i would always wounder how.!!! but some how would getter done.!!!! and move on . LET'S GO.!!!! ROLLLIN OUT .

Nice train meet today. CSX I 017 was pushing the rail speed limit to say the least. Seems like a lot of auto racks going East and West. Does NY and Eastern states have auto manufacturing?
Not many auto assembly plants if any interest Northeast. Midwest and South is where one finds them today and in in Ontario next to Detroit.

Very Cool Amtrak Set up in that trailer. What was that one in the middle of that acting like a DPU or something?
Yes a DPU stands for distributed power unit. It basically is any locomotive on a train that is not part of the front group of engines and is helping power the train. It could be placed anywhere else in the middle halfway down a third of the way down or at the end basically anywhere is on the train that they decide.

Weird question but here goes: why do the train signals go green red yellow as opposed to as opposed to traffic signals red yellow green?
Yellow is caution in cars but approach in trains

ChainsawN&W1218, You always catch some really cool meets,DPU Alright hope the Rail strike is resolved but the Engineers,Conductors and employees should get what there asking for the remaining Rail Unions have until December 9th now to make a decision or they said Congress would act!👍🛤🚂
