Wow! What a cool long hood forward start! Crazy gates & lights finally went down! Those Tier 4 engines are hugeaah & if I was driving the train I'd want that Ammonium Nitrate down the end, the furthest end of the train lol. DPU alright on it though! Triple train meet alright! Cool scheme on the 1106 BNSF second in on the 28b. A thoroughly enjoyable video from Wide World of Trains on RUclipsaah! Thanks Mike! 🇦🇺🇺🇸🚄🚂
@@AgentMulder1805 I think it's likely a rule just like driving a car in rural areas with the high beams on. They lower the beams to prevent blinding the engineer head on or from behind.
My goodness! That CSX L 356 was moving as if he had his hair on fire!! Picking them up and putting them down! That NS train with the DPU Alright was definitely a Kodak moment. Hopefully more to come.
A lot of awesome action in this one, a surprise triple train meet to start off and NS 310, with a DPU and a piggyback tanker. And catching a BNSF H1 was real sweet,an NS train in that area with a DPU was a real surprise to me. Great job Mike.
Wish I could be a long-distance train spotter for you, but to be real, even though I see the trains sooner, I enjoy your exclamations when you DO see the train!! Plus, I could yell as loud as I can that there's a train coming, but I doubt you could hear me in California!
If you closely at 9:30 notice the top part of the cab where the numberboards are it is painted black and not white. Black was for the thoroughbred logo while white was for the horsehead logo. NS 3625 has the horsehead logo.
What a awesome premiere I got to see the first half of the premiere not the second half I love train videos wide world of trains and can't wait for more
I see what you mean that the NS folks are wising UP about distributed power! Hope it continues. I bet it'll be standard on Norfolk Southern EVENTUALLY (if they're smart like us)!
"Holy Hanna" WWOT...what an opener!! L356 "SpongeBob" rockin' and rollin' thru the interlocking...look at the engineer "bobbing'-and-weaving" with the ride. Just listen to that "SpongeBob" Nathan horn...all this going on while the Geep 38 is running backwards, "long hood forward"!!! Check out those empty "Sea Land" well cars @6:43...now that's goin' back in time!! Great stuff WWOT... 👍👍👏👏
Can you explain why you recommend they put a DP engine in between the load. I do believe it to help your front Engine with the load but I really would like to know why.😇
Yes a DPU stands for distributed power unit. It basically is any locomotive on a train that is not part of the front group of engines and is helping power the train. It could be placed anywhere else in the middle halfway down a third of the way down or at the end basically anywhere is on the train that they decide.
Th bnsf 1106 is an h1 pumpkin knot an h2 the reason being the black on top and the bottom goes around the unit if you look a trigger treat Halloween bucket they match
Ammonium nitrate? Yikes! Useful as fertiliser or as a basis for explosives..... Reckon the driver on the CSX local may need a neck brace. He had a wild ride over those points! A steam loco would be,no worse.
a 1 grey day!! i swear trains if the local shimmied anymore it'd have thrown the crew off it!! that NS that's exactly what you want to see roll by a car labeled for carrying explosives! it still had the explosive hazmat placards on it so it might have still been loaded!! the only thing worse is one labeled chlorine!!!

I noticed the engineer lowered the high beams to low as the 2 trains were about to meet.
@Max Headroom i did too maybe it's a rule or probably just a courtesy. Cheers Max Headroom 👍 🈷️🇺🇸🇦🇺

That was a cool looking BNSF alright! 😎

10:07 4338 is one of my favorite AC44C6Ms NS owns, as I saw it with a CN unit, so it's memorable to me.

Very action packed today, Boss, with an excellent triple train meet! That first CSX really smoked past you. Alright!
TRIFECTA!!! Hospital car on NS is a plus. Remember what I said previously about a consulting fee.....Totally first rate video, liked it immensely!
That first train looked like it was really bouncing. Great opening with all the trains.
Great video some great catches enjoyed watching thanks for sharing this one Mike
Wow. That local train really bounced on those rails. Has any engines bottom out where the blade of the train hit on the rails.
great triple train meet and fascinating tank car mounted on a flat car without its trucks!
Finally you got the NS DPU finally it's been so long since last time they need make more longer trains like that one he needs more dpu
Great train meet
BNSF Alright! This is a great video!
Awesome video
Love the NS with the DPU. That's something I never see in my area. 😊😊
The GP 38 series are geared to 65 mph. Since the limit is 69 on that track, I would bet he was going 65.
Very nice catches my friend
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
That was crazy
Great video today. Thanks 👍. 😊
2029 on the open that’s motoring is absolutely awesome. Had to replay that 7 times. Is that a SD40 or GP38. Went by so fast I couldn’t see.
Cool CSX auto rack/double stack! 😊😊
If you closely at 9:30 notice the top part of the cab where the numberboards are it is painted black and not white. Black was for the thoroughbred logo while white was for the horsehead logo. NS 3625 has the horsehead logo.

Are you sure that was I168 and not M204? The way it was hooked up, it might be MI204168.
Did I see someone in the NS DPU wave at you?
8:32 looks like he’s about a 3 quarters of a mile away
A DPU alright 😅❤
A north folk southern 😊
Runor has it . That after July 1st the last of the two Triple Crown trains left will no longer be needed
Can you explain why you recommend they put a DP engine in between the load. I do believe it to help your front Engine with the load but I really would like to know why.😇

And the train is slowing down 😅
Tuesday May 9th 😊
We never see CSX, down here, running long hood forward.
They do it here because if they wanted to turn the engine around they would have to drive another 80 mile round trip to Buffalo to do so.
DPU Alright
I was comment number 666, I guess that makes me a devil of a railfan. Hahaha 😂🤣
Looks like it
A double train meet yeahyeahyyeah, 😅😊😢😂❤, 4:07 4:09
Ammonium nitrate? Yikes! Useful as fertiliser or as a basis for explosives.....
Reckon the driver on the CSX local may need a neck brace. He had a wild ride over those points! A steam loco would be,no worse.
"Do Not hammer on car?" What a horrible instruction! Where's my 4lb job???
Norfolk southern dpu alright bsnf alright
Dpu alright
a 1 grey day!! i swear trains if the local shimmied anymore it'd have thrown the crew off it!! that NS that's exactly what you want to see roll by a car labeled for carrying explosives! it still had the explosive hazmat placards on it so it might have still been loaded!! the only thing worse is one labeled chlorine!!!
Can t stand seeing the same old GE locos all the time .
Great CSX and NS action, and another NS mid helper DPU Alright to get the job done right!🛤🚂
