These trains consistently seem to have the best mixes of freight cars from the type to the owner. That guy in the pickup truck would have been in for a big surprise if this was a CN train from Sault Ste Marie MI to Green Bay WI which consistently have plate steel that overhangs the regular car width. It would have been the new model called the can opener
@@JawTooth The town seems to have painted white lines a few feet either side of the track. Which suggests they are saying it's OK to be there so long as you're outside the line. D-P-U-I-C-U, double DPU street running train in LaGrange Ky, nice. I never tire of watching trains in this little town. Jaw, some people just don"t exercise common sense, very dangerous for the people in that truck! Great video today. High rail truck nice also!
How is common sense a factor smart guy? Maybe they wanted to get closer to the action. They're within the markings on the road. No different than when these guys stand feet away from a train going 45+ mph.

More exciting train action from Lagrange KY where the tracks run through the middle of town and the vehicles are always at risk if they are to close to the tracks, with the awesome live action train pets Norfy, Chessie, Loki and Brandi always great to see them as well as the slide show of the awesome trains, thanks Jaw Tooth. 🇺🇲🤠🐈⬛🐕🦺🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲
That driver of that truck was foolish to park there. Why he didn't use a parking space guess we'll never know. But another great video from Jaw Tooth. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Hi to JT & everyone. I've been waiting for part 2 JT! It's great when the drivers & their vehicles start to panic when they seen the train. Sometimes it can be chaos in La Grange. The truck is only about 2 feet from the train don't get why he or she parked there. Move it right where the parking spaces are. Weather looked beautiful that day JT. That train was a monster. Did I hear Norfie purring? Bless. ❤😊🐕🐕🐈⬛👍
The truck appears to be parked within the limits of the road markings, but its left-hand exterior mirror protrudes far beyond them, brushing against the train's carriages.
This would be a great commercial for the motorized folding mirrors feature they added to some trucks a while back. Guy parks to close and looks in his mirror... sees a two mile long freight train and folds the mirrors... narrowly avoiding distruction 😁
Just because he is sitting just outside of the markings does NOT mean he is perfectly safe. As JT says, a hanging strap or chain or even a log or pole hanging loose could tear off part of that truck or, in the case of a 'phone pole or tree trunk come right in through the back of the cab.
I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, and trains would come down Mason Street, one of the best street running locations in America. Personally, from my experience on Mason Street, I didn't think that that was actually all that dangerous. As a previous viewer noted, yes, there could be something hanging off a train, but that person was well within the legal lines, and I from the start thought he was turning left because that's what you had to do in Fort Collins. I was impressed that he actually waited and didn't turn left in front of the train. Just my opinion, though, and as always, great video. This was one of the longest trains I think I've ever seen in La Grange!
Thing is with Mason Street, it's wider and allows for two lanes of traffic in each direction plus parallel parking with the rails down the middle. It actually used to be like this but I think about 10 years ago it was improved and basically the street and the rails are now separated.
Brian this as always an amazing catch thanks The guy in the truck was was stupid. Really like you said he could have pulled out went right. I think he wanted to get hit so the rr pay for it.smh have great day JT
I love trains, but I also have a healthy respect for how powerful they are. As I've said before, I have observed that many people think that if they're driving a truck they're invulnerable.
We visited Lagrange last weekend! We saw a total of 16 trains from Friday to early Sunday. Two of those trains had double DPU's mid train! We also saw the Chessie System heritage unit! Would definitely go back again!!
Great video, Jaw Tooth, but I would never had parked that close to the track, let one of those dangling strips would take their back glass out or take off their mirror, That was a dangerous act of Stupidity on the P/U truck's part. Anyway, Jaw Tooth have a very great day, my Friend.
Nice catch of the 618 axle CSX train! Far as the guy in the truck, whst was he trying to accomplish other than turning left? But like Forest Gump said "STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES". Some people just don't seem to get it when comes to trains. It's like they've INVINCIBLE. Thanks again JT for another great video from the STREET RUNNING CAPITAL of the county! KABOOM from Laurel, Delaware USA.
You asked for suggestions on what to video. How about showing where the trains on the old pevine line get their loads from NS and CSX. Also the same place the I&O pickup or build trains to take north through Loveland and on north east. Is see them all the time at Oakley yard.
Are engineers operating a street running train in Kentucky required to also have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)? I know that some states do require it. Great video!
Another great video JT and I’m like you that dude was crazy to park that close to that train. All it would’ve took was one board hanging off or something and it would’ve took him out but anyway my friend you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll catch you on the next one.
There is a small town in the panhandle of Florida by the name of DeFuniak Springs that still has train tracks through the center of town. I now live in Kentucky and have visited this town many times. The state prison is on the outskirts of town. Lots of cafes and arts and crafts shops in the town. Truck driver is dumb driver! I love watching the trains, but miss the caboose! Took a ride on the Polar Express (Pere Marquette 1225) from Owasso, MI to Ashley Village a few years ago -- steam engine that was the prototype for the movie...trip of lifetime with my grandson!
That pickup driver clearly had enough time at the train’s slow speed, to make a quick turn when the cross traffic cleared, long before the front loco got there. At first, I wondered if there was a crossing gate with the arm down on both sides of the cross street, but in that case the driver should have just gone forward, and your comments on the video made me think there are no gates there. My first guess is they were out of town railfans, but then they should have come park over by where you were standing, so obviously not. Too bad, otherwise you could have had a nice chat. Thanks for a cool video! You have cool pet and pet names as well!
I thought the DPU might knock that mirror right off the truck. I think the guy was in the truck bed filming the train for awhile. Great action from LaGrange JT. I enjoyed it. ❤

I'm so in awe of all those freight cars of different shapes used for any number of products, plus the tanker cars carrying a variety of liquids. But first -- where did this train with its lead engine(s) begin its journey? How many freight cars made up the train set? Then it picks up other freight cars -- the majority appear to be without any laden, but I guess the Train makes pick ups at freight yards or along track spurs. In general, how many stops does this train set make during a run? How many employees are present on this train? Questions galore...
Hey jaw tooth that truck should have turned right. At least train didn't hit them. They emptied the yard for that one. Yes I heard Kitty purring. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
Norfie is a beautiful cat. I must say, people do not think, if there been a wide load or a loose strap, there could been issues but guess he would have gone after CSX or even the community. one long train.
Imagine a loose steel strap like I have seem quite of few of here lately. I don't even go all the way up to stop lines at some crossings because it is too close!
