LaGrange is awesome for railfanning, but it's unbelievable how many people cannot navigate that road when the trains are rolling. There are clear white lines and they STILL cannot navigate lol. Always seeing strikes on VR.
Have you noticed that many skateboarders seem to think they're invincible? Like our dude in the video. Several tons don't scare him. The street running trains are so interesting. Thanks for sharing.
The dudes on skateboards are usually around. They hang at the city park shelter and wait for trains. JT caught one in an earlier video he did at like 3 in the morning.
Anyone who is a railfan should check this out. It is awesome to be that close to the engines when they come rumbling through. The local freight delivers tank cars to the food factory where I work in Buckner. I will have to get video of them switching out tank cars sometime and post it. Also, I have known people who have hopped on these trains and rode them to Campbellsburg and Warsaw. Campbellsburg is another good spot to watch trains. Double track through the town so you can catch trains passing each other.
Four ways stops at the main intersections. Also the 10MPH speed of the train through La Grange allows ample time for traffic running parallel to the train to clear out. So it is managed.
I especially love to see the pets. So, I didn't know that Sophie had passed on, but your cute new puppy will give both Chessie and Norfie a new companion to play with. 😊❤

Thank you for this second video of trains that you captured in LaGrange, Kentucky on 11 May 2023, Jaw Tooth! All the trains were long. The two mixed freight trains had a variety of freight cars in their consists. That 89-foot auto parts car with the Conrail logo that was in front of the DPU was a blast from the past. I could not make out the reporting marks on that car. The car number was readable, but the reporting marks are faded and currently unreadable.
At 10K population that's not really small town. Its The county seat so it has numerous governmental agencies. The community advertisers the railroad reviewing Tower plus the downtown has that restored look to attract visitors. While the heavy industry may not exist this area is home to several prisons which get visitors. It is also on two major highways and judging by the descriptions the next big towns are basically 40 miles away
@@csrrjefflloyd6496 that's a huge difference in population density so it's easy to understand how we perceive numbers. Interesting, even to someone like me who isn't a railfan. Nothing like that here in New England! One thing that came to mind when the occasional rust-bucket came through was that like all the cars it has to be sturdy enough so that when the train starts up it can handle the strain from pulling all those cars behind it. Oh, and taking a shot of the clock as the train started through was handy, but taking another as it finished would be even better. Thanks!
