    Biscuits are a form of quick bread that every homemaker should know how to make. This two ingredients recipe is easy enough for every homemaker regardless of their skill set. Give it a try then let me know how it worked out for you. What else would you like to show you how to make?

      Young working mom of 3 I hope to transition to a full time homemaker or even part time work to focus more on home in the future but for right now I’m trying to find a perfect blend between the 2.
      1. Becoming more confident in the kitchen
      2. Saving $$ & learning from experienced women ❤️

    Hi Denise! I so enjoy your videos, you always inspire me to be a modern homemaker. May I ask your biscuit advice? How would you store the leftover biscuits and how long would they last? I can't seem to keep get a biscuit to keep past the day they are made. Thanks so much!

    Mom always used a kitchen glass to cut biscuits. I need to make these two ingredient biscuits. I've fallen into using Pillsbury frozen biscuits, but from scratch can't be beat!

    Enjoyed the video, Denise. My grandma made biscuits every day twice a day. Breakfast and dinner/supper. When I make them I use gloves because my grandma used to say women with nails should not make biscuits. I enjoy my nails but she has hammered that into me so I found another way,
    I love biscuits and jam too but I also love biscuits and a good syrup. Showing my southern roots. 😅TFS

    New subscribers! I found you from Mary's Nest! I love your aprons. I always wear one and now my all my grandchildren wear them when we cook/bake together. I have never used self rising flour before but this makes it so simple. I always have heavy whipping cream in my refrigerator. Biscuits and gravy sound so good this morning!

    I've never used self rising flour. I put it on my grocery list now. I wish I had some today because biscuits would go well with the lentil soup I am making. I suppose I can use the regular recipe I have.

      GeeGaw, a can works perfectly. I just happen to have a biscuit cutter. And I must admit, I did see my mom and my gramma use a glass. I've never seen anyone use a can but I can see why it would work. Thank you for stopping by.

    Olive oil will turn rancid when used to oil wood cutting boards! I had to repurpose a very nice wood cutting board because I used olive oil to oil the board. Food grade mineral oil is recommended for wood kitchen utensils and boards. Just a thought NOT a sermon!

    Merry Christmas, Denise. I couldn’t have viewed this video at a more timely occasion!!! I’ll be hosting the family’s Christmas morning breakfast this year and wanted to change it up a bit from the expected breakfast casserole. Biscuits and gravy were my first thought, but I don’t know how to make homemade biscuits-so I was trying to figure out if there’s a local bakery or restaurant nearby that I could get a dozen “granny made” style biscuits. Now I won’t have to! I’m more than confident I’ll be able to make them myself. I just need to come up with a make shift rolling pin. There’s no reason a drinking glass couldn’t work, right? Anyway, thank you! I’ve been a follower for maybe 2 years and THOROUGHLY enjoy your channel. Blessings…
    P.S. I’m not even a new, nor am I a young, homemaker (age 54 and married 33 yrs) and I GREATLY benefit from your wisdom❤

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  9 месяцев назад

      Good for you. Way to try something new. As for a rolling pin…pick your up at Walmart or Amazon but… if you have a smooth drinking glass that long… flour it well and try it. Dampen the glass just enough to make the flour stick to it and give it a try. Or pat it out. Just keep patting the dough down until it’s where you need it to be. Let me know how it works out for you.
