Kurt That was such a wicked hunt. Brad Dove here . It’s Thursday night . 1/4/21 me and my 6 year old Dusty dove are heading for a hunt tomorrow at a school EST 1885 in Victoria Australia. Dusty just loves u and the boys Kurt. We’re has Brad been. Any ways holla back for my boy. You guys are the best . And muck is a true friend.. cheers boys Brad and Dusty Dove.
This hunt reminds me of my early years of metal detecting. I purchased my first metal detector in 1985. At that point in time there were still lots of virgin sites in my home town. If I didn't come home with at least 5-6 silver coins I thought I had a bad day. Oh how I miss those days. Congrats guys and thanks for sharing this hunt with us !!!
@@thehooverboys Copy of my comment with Vauable FYI: (Please see FYI below, Natural Insect repellants.) *Looking forward to some "Hoover Boys Surf-Fishin" again!* One of my favs, I re-watch that video anytime I desire an energy Positive Boost! It is such a Cool Watch, and those were some *"Sleek-Sharks"* I must "bait my Son with the idea" and head over to the "East-Side" for some "Surf-Fishin". About 13 hours from my spot on the Mississippi River, in NW Tennessee. I40 East. *______________________________* *FYI: For upcoming "bug season", (I live in the Delta and 12 mi from MS River), the best mosquito repellant I've used is: "Vick's Salve" , the other is Thieve's Oil.* I would much rather rub one of these on and reapply as needed, than apply Chemicals to my skin. Also, if in an area where campfire is necessary, *"use Cedar Wood".* All insects are repelled, at varying degrees, by Cedar Wood Oil, Lemon Oil, Citrus Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Rosemary/Lavender/Oregano/Peppermint/Tea Tree/Pine/Cedar Oils, and Smoke. Thus Thieve's Oil works well. Also, I wear light-weight, well-worn denim, or cotten long-sleeve skirt, and if especially high temps, oversized shirt, and that helps considerably. *Note to ladies:* they feed right through leggings and nylon boot socks, so opt for light-weight khaki or denim slacks. In the South we have lil pests called "chiggers" that get on any exposed areas, AND will go right through cotton socks thus your Ankles require extra Vick's. If you get these they plant their eggs just below top derma layer and itch for 2 months. Must cover each bite with clear nail polish to smother the undesirables. Bragg' s Apple Cider Vinegar and fresh Lemon Juice help relieve the itching. Clearly a subject that can cause interference with fun. They breed in standing water and the chiggers are in grass, ticks most often drop out of trees, so shaded areas are worse. These "auromatic products" may be initially undesirable, but that fades when you are focused on having some fun or getting some work done. Just have a cocktail and you be just fine. (Irish Girl) Trust me, You will be pleased for the tips. Have a Safe, Healthy, and Fun Spring/Summer/Fall. 😘
I had a feeling you would cut this film into two parts. You should check out a lot of old maps for stores from the 17 and 1800’s. I really enjoyed this video. It would be like finding an old undisturbed pile of garbage with a lot of old bottles that somehow remained intact. That was always a joy for me. I can’t wait for part two to be up. Good luck in your future ventures. Something tells me you will find a really special piece of history. 👍🏻😃
Hi Kurt! Greeting from Ukraine, I also metal detect here, but we have less coins, and silver coins are very rare, because USSR stopped making them in 1930
Killing it on the live digs! Congrats! I’m ready to go hunting again. Thanks Kurt for making the video and both of you for digging up some good stuff!! My 6 year daughter and I love watching your videos! She is so excited about metal detecting and watching your show and since watching your channel over the last year or so, she decided to start her own RUclips channel (with my limited help and supervision of course - I’m still trying to fully understand some of the video editing techniques and upload mess (you make it look too easy,; although I know now it is not)). We have a lot to learn and we appreciate the time you spend teaching us the history of what you and your amazing circle of friends dig up.
Hey Kurt, I dug a 1864 IHP but not a fatty, I kinda thought they would be all fatty that year? Any info? I googled but could not get any clear info. Thanks!
My buddy told me about your channel a little over a month ago, and I'm addicted! Lol I've been watching you guys almost everyday. I work 16+ hour days, mostly 3rd shift. So when I get home my reward is the Hoover Boys! Thanks for the awesome videos!
I don't know you guys, but we would be friends if we were neighbors. This looks like a ton of fun. The researching, the work, the find, and then the researching and appraisal of the find!
Looks like a promising site ( ; the sight I been hunting has pulled 3 Seated Quarters, and a barber dime that had me going as played One Dime game, lol. Unfortunately I lost that game ) : There's got to be a seated dime some where there ( : HH and take care, look forward to 2nd half (:
love hearing others fish the coinstar return slot! last year i got 15 silver dimes and countless foreign coins over the 2020 year. best ever, i was using one and jammed up the machine. worker opened it up and cleaned out the internal reject bin and handed the contents to me saying THESE can’t be counted. upon looking in my hand, there was 4 ike dollars, 2 walking half dollars, and 3 morgan silver dollars!!!! i told her they weren’t mine but she said keep them. makes you wonder what those guys find when they open those machines up????? man i’d love to know.
I look forward to your videos every Wednesday ty for the great content God bless you and your family and all of the other hoover boys and their families
The trash I find mostly consists of Swisher packs and soda cans they sound amazing . I rarely find "good" stuff due to 3/4 the land in my town being back filled in the 60's and 70's but I still enjoy it HH and good luck.
The reverse of the barber quarter is up there as being one of the most beautiful coin designs “IMO.” The only thing that’s more beautiful is digging two seated coins in one day, wow. Congrats guys. Keep up the good content!
NOOOOOO I hate cliff hangers but holy cow what a spot the details on those seated pieces are outstanding can’t wait for part 2 thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
Just want to say thank you to you and the rest of the hoover boys. Your channel drove me to getting my own metal detector and going out every minute I can.
Can you truck a couple of those fields south, preferably with unsearched ground 😂. Man would we have fun digging those types of coins down in the Sunshine state. Nice hunts and finds, thanks for taking us along.
Your show is always awesome, been going through the previous episodes just for entertainment and ambition. I have lots of virgin sites to detect even 1800s schools and boss even has a ghost town I've been working, but here in the midwest folks didn't have much and lost even less. But I keep digging because of your show spurring me on. Happy hunting
Hey Kurt love watching all your videos I love it when you find old coins and other unique stuff. We don’t have the unbelievable relics here in Australia so it’s awesome to watch you guys at play . Keep making great videos I love watching you collect relics cheers John
Never really thought to look at old maps to find sites but we can't metal detect here anyway. But the history would be nice to know. Thanks for sharing Happy hunting and eat your lunch
Just want you guys to know that I'm a pharmacist on special assignment with Delta airlines giving Covid vaccinations. Open 7 days a week fighting this damn virus. We use number systems to call patients up for their vaccines. And as you can guess every number ending in 44..... From 44 to 944 I hear, "44 ladies that's me!" Look forward to your video every Wednesday. Thanks for the weekly escape!! Keep up the good work! Subscribing now so I never miss an episode!! Thanks again!

Thanks for not dry rubbing the coins. Oops, I spoke too soon.
Some coins are better to start dry
@@thehooverboyswhy would it matter
@@decker528 It does. Rare coin value goes way down based on condition. Rub scratches into one and it may lose 75% of it's value to a collector.
@@decker528 because you can scratch the crap out of a coin by dry rubbing it. Taking it from value to scrap.
