Holy Moly! You guys Hoovered that field of so many coins it was unbelievable. I couldn't believe the stuff you were diggin' up. It sure makes a person want to find out every old place that used to have a tavern on it from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It seems that a lot of coins changed hands, and due to the beverages drank, a lot of coins fell on the ground and were lost. I can just see those fellows back then staggerin' away from the tavern, or hangin' half out of their saddles, as they made their way up the trail or road to home, or further along their journey. I wonder how soon that became farm fields, or if it was woodland at the time? That was some really nice soil to be diggin' in for sure. This was truly amazing! Congrats on the 200th episode, and glad I could be here to see it. Fantastic!

Outstanding job Boys! Getting to 200 episodes is an incredible feat doing what you do. Making 200 videos isn't much of an achievement for a channel that does scripted content, but searching for pieces of history under the ground is a horse of a different color. Even with the research you do before you start swinging, there is always the chance of coming up empty (outside of modern/iron trash) and you end up having to distill several different days/sites to make something worth the editing time. I know any day out is better than a day at work, even if you don't find anything (but it may be hard to make a video from). Living in Richmond Virginia, I love being able to see all of the history that surrounds me. Heck, I grew up less than a quarter mile from a Civil War cannon foundry and would climb up on the cannon mould that was in the woods near our house. I remember finding pieces of slag from the smelting and picking them up off the surface. I actually still live less than a mile from that site. I'd love to get permission to dig the farm field next to that, but alas, I have no equipment (yet). If The Hoover Boys are ever in the area, I'd love to go out with you guys. I'll even be your camera man, so Kurt can actually get some time digging instead of filming everyone else's big silver! Congratulations again on 200 episodes and here's to 200 more!
That old hammered copper looked like it had the letters KON which may be short for KONIG - the German word for King, hence the coin may be from a German state, such as Prussia or Bavaria. If it is indeed German, it was likely owned at some point by one of the Hessians - German mercenaries sent to help the British during the revolutionary war.
Re Mi Cannot be Dutch, considering that the Netherlands wasn’t a monarchy until 1806, long after hammered coins went out of use. It also cannot be Bavarian, as Bavaria didn’t become a Kingdom before 1815. However it could also potentially be Dano-Norwegian, as the Danish and Norwegian word for king is konge.

I found a lead piece in a colonial judges field in a the town of St. George West Virginia. To make a long story well long you answered my question today with the war of 1812 powder keg plug, that’s the same as the one I found. all the experts on the internet called it a button a carved bullet a coin melted into a .69 caliber three finger and countless other things.
