My dear you are too modest if you are saying you are not a professional artist. You ARE. Say it. We believe it. That's why we're here. :)
Thank you :)
I have used this tutorial many times since watching it the first time! So helpful! The biggest take away I benefited from it…”don’t over think it”! I have messed up many a painting by not “leaving well enough alone”. 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you for all of the tutorials you have out! Landscapes have my heart, but I get many tips and ideas from your videos. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! I still struggle with that :P
I've been wanting to play with landscapes for so long -- this is making me brave enough to take the leap!
Yay! Good luck, and just have fun with it :)
Excellent!
I love how moody these are! I live right in front of the Ottawa River and these landscapes really look like what I see form my balcony on moody/rainy/misty days! Love how simple it seems as well :D
You must have a beautiful view there!
I lived in Ottawa for a year…beautiful capital
This is one of my most favorite videos from you in a long while. I love that it’s different and your color palette is so soothing as are your final paintings. 💖💖 I would buy those! So nice on this rain filled day in Ohio.
Wow, thank you!
@@ShaydaCampbell You’re welcome!💖
@Shayda Campbell - Thank you for taking the fear out of watercolor! I’ve always loved watercolor paintings and the mysterious way they look but never tried painting them myself. After finding your channel I decided it was time to try my hand at painting. My journey with watercolors has just begun and I have learned so much from you and the sweet spirit in which you present things. Thank you for making these videos and reminding me that “…imperfectly perfect” makes perfect!!
You can do it! As long as you are having fun it's worthwhile :)
I love what you said about not being good at something but instead enjoying the process! I didn't say that exactly as well as you did, but what a great message! Thanks for branching out and trying something new and in doing so, encouraging me to do the same!! I can't believe you are so close to 1 million!! Well, I can because you are so good at what you do! I started following along when you were at 30,000 ish! Congratulations, you will be there in a blink!
Well said :) Thank you for following along!!
Shayda, your approach is soooo light and gentle... Thank you! I was trying landscaping but it was too serius... doing with a pressure... seeing you try landscaping brought me back on track - its for fun! ... And your landscape is lovely by the way... 🤩
Art should be fun not scary :P
Always nice watching you doing your Art. I love the result.
Thanks so much 😊
I love clouds, they're so forgiving. You see so many types in nature from the soft floofy ones to those 'hot' summer clouds with really sharp edges that usually herald a thunderstorm. 😊
Your landscapes remind me of L.S. Lowry (one of my favourite artists). 😊
Agreed! If you mess up a cloud it just changes the intended weather 😊
I love these little landscapes. Simple and elegant. Not necessarily easy but I think they are a great beginner project to play with. Thank you. Your joy shines through.
Thanks! It's all about experimenting and having fun :)
As a beginner large paintings feel overwhelming & going to try doing these smaller ones & love the way you paint them!
Fantastic work. Loved watching your process and the end result is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your wonderful art 💜
Thanks so much 😊
These are really wonderful! They remind me of some of the cinematography shots from the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. Very inspiring! Thanks Shayda!
Wow, thank you! Great movie :)
I love it that you still paint with your mungyo set for such a long time 🥰 lovely painting , thanks for your ideas and inspiration 🥰
Yes! Thank you!
Love! Thank you for the reminder to have fun and to approach art without inhibitions. We all appreciate your encouragement and generosity in sharing your gifts with us. 💝🌸

This was so fun, Shayda! No pressure, no worries, just like all of your videos. Thank you!💕
Love the colors and sky!
Thank you Shayda for keeping life real!
I love your videos and have learned so much from your kind, loving generosity!
Love the t-shirts as well, especially the Perfectly Imperfect, that is life!
God bless you and your little family.
Thank you! I have been wearing mine constantly :) it's so cozy and happy.
So pretty. I love this project! The ripped edges are especially nice and remove some of the perfectionist pressure.
Glad to hear it! Art should be about having fun :)
I was so sad tonight and i opend youtube and see you've posted this video. I love watercolor landscapes and the space of you and your videos. It made me happy for some moments. If you liked landscape please do more tutorials. There is z world in it. Clouds, trees, river, ocean, sky, grass,.... Imagin a misty forrest! Merci for giving me good feelings. ❤️
You are so welcome! Art can always makes me happy and that is part of the reason I share it :)
Always nice to paint mini compositions
Those are so beautiful shayda , I love them
Thanks so much 😊
@@ShaydaCampbell thank you so much for replying to me , YOU ARE THE BEST!
I love the way you roughly tear the paper which looks very classy
Thanks :)
You hit it out of the park once again my friend ✨🙌🏻
Very pretty and fun! I will try. When I first started watercolor painting I did landscapes and kind of got away from it but it’s fun. I like the small sizes of these.
Good beginnings! It’s always risky to step outside our comfort zone, but that’s when we learn the most I think. A book that really helped me in learning to paint landscapes is Wilderness Watercolor Landscapes by Kolbie Blume. It’s very good for beginners with clear, easy to follow illustrated step-by-step instructions. Lots of good techniques learned along the way. One tip that helped me with making clouds is using a scrunched up piece of tissue to lift out the clouds. Happy painting!
I will have to check that out, thank you!
I love these! They remind me of those gray, moody days and they're so pretty!
gray days can be the most beautiful to paint 😂
I've seen a lot of artist doing these on instagram and I'm just waiting who on youtube would do these kind of stuffs... And here it is!!!!
They are so fun to paint!
How cute those tiny landscapes!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh, yeah....I'm going to try to do something like that. Love them!!!
🙂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What an excellent weekend project. They look very lovely.
Thanks so much 😊
love these. Looks like so much fun. Inspired to try this.
You should! Have fun :)
Loooove these little perfectly imperfect 'scapes! 🤎💚
Thank you :)
Your videos always inspire me to actually practice my watercolour 😊
Glad to hear it :)
These would make great note cards! Friends and family really don't care how bad the art. They care that you took time to make something, write a note saying that you are thinking them and actually sending it in the mail 📬! 💖🌞🌵😷
Good idea! I always keep blank cards on hand from the dollar store to attach watercolors to the front of as well
@@ShaydaCampbell, I know, I've been a long time subscriber. You're video a while back was where I got the idea! Lol! 🤭 Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny🌞 Arizona🌵😷
Gorgeous!!!! Therapeutic as always!! ❤️❤️❤️💜💜
Thank you :)
Finally ! this is the video I'm waiting for it's fab😍😍
Thank u
My pleasure 😊
I love to make landscapes, they are actually my strong point. Anyways, I have something you can try -- if you do a wash with a color and it gets too dark, or even just if you want a lighter color on something, you can take a dry paper towel, or napkin and just dab the wet color. It turns out so nice, and take so little time to dry!
Aaaaaa I'm lovin it, Shayda!!! Looks so peaceful 🎑
Thank you!
Loved it gonna try
Have fun!
Magnifique ! Merci ! Faby
Really cute! All of your videos are SO aesthetically pleasing to watch. :)
Thank you so much!!
Haven't watched yet but I am so excited for this tutorial! ❤❤❤ thank you!!!

You got it!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
These are lovely! ☺
Thank you!
I love it!
Well done, great,I really appreciate it
Um, yeah, sorry, but you really are an artist! I wish I had an 1/8th of your talent & ability! Watching your videos always inspires me to try, even though I am rarely successful.
Thank you! I'm so glad you find inspiration here, and as long as you are having fun, I am sure they are wonderful :)
You said you were a beginner, but they are amazing! Love them all. I am starting to paint abstract landscape and your video is really helpful. Actually I use Procreate to paint, but watching your video I felt like buying a paper and some water color pallets😂
This was great. Thanks for the inspiration!! 🎨 🖌
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video.. Very informative ❤
Love LOVE your lessons! Thank you. ♥️🙏
You are so welcome!
estuve batallando con mi proyecto porque no se me ocurría cómo avivar mis montañas, pero con tu vídeo ya me inspiré
So happy to hear it!
Thank you! Love you girl
Wonderful. Could you please try to show us how to paint mountain landscape? This would be amazing😊😍
I love this this videos. I will love to see some landscapes for Namibia (desert ect)
Great idea!
Oooooh, I *really* love these little landscapes. Well taught, thank you. 🎨

Just wowwowoowoaowowoow
Love these. 👌💕
Thank you!
Congratulations on stepping outside of your comfort zone!
Thank you!!
What size do you tear your paper to? Btw they are so beautiful. You are so modest, “l am not a professional “. Love your stuff easy and fun.
Thank you so much! They are 3x5
I just discovered your channel. I'm wanting to learn to draw flowers, berries, herbs and things. Can you do a tutorial on how to draw some berries? I love berries and I want to draw some and send them in a card to an elderly lady that used to visit me. She's in nursing home now and I miss her. Thank you btw. And I love your videos especially your doodles. Please keep them coming. They're relaxing too.
This is pretty
Would you recommend any watercolor set for beginners? Thank you for the great video!
Absolutely! The Mungyo 48 Pan Paint Set is great quality without being overly expensive: amzn.to/2Fs6CT9
Simple, beautiful, elegant! I loved all the drawings, as always. Love from Portugal 🌿🌱🍁
Thank you so much 😀
Oh can you attempt mountains too? 😅💞
I'll add it to the list :)
Love it!! : )
Thank you for accepting my request ☺️☺️
Please do some more...I love to watch man named Stuar Davies. He is from France. He does oil paint, but he just let's it happen like you do..I like his composition and I'm going to follow your suggestions..you are beautiful inside and out!
Stuart Davies
More to come!
If I'm a beginner do you recomend me to try this video? Or I should try with another thing?
definitely give it a try! It's all about experimenting and having fun. If you search 'beginner' I have lots of other videos as well. Try ruclips.net/video/Yx4-pDNNM3o/видео.html
I am just venturing into landscapes. This is a perfect introduction. As a beginner, I wish you went a little slower. I'm trying to figure out colors, water, placement and boom you are finished! Probably just me. I'm a senior lady!
If you are following along you can slow the video down - select settings and then playback speed :)
Silly me. Thanks! Makes perfect sense.
Her:grab all your brushes
Me:looking at my 40 brushes🤔
My 5 favorite brushes looking at me:😏😙
😂😂
You’ve shown today that you know how to paint more than leaves and flowers. Please be bold enough to paint a bigger landscape (try an 11x14 inch cold press paper) and truly become a watercolorist, not just a hobbyist/RUclipsr 😊❤️
Thank you
💛💚💜💙❤️
That's it. I give up. Anybody want to buy my paints and brushes?
Great little landscapes. You’ve sounded a bit congested in your last couple of videos. Maybe some allergies, so feel better if that’s the case.
I was, thank you!
Hello artist, I really like your drawing, but I hope you can add Arabic subtitles. So that I can understand you well because you are an example to me and you are an inspiration to me. I hope you can add an Arabic translation. Thank you ❤
🤞 fingers crossed youtube will add them!
@@ShaydaCampbell That's great thank you

Watercolor landscapes are so fun, but it can be hard to accept and let then have their “ugly” stages while they dry so you can build layers more effectively. You want to fiddle and retouch and add and take away and the watercolor is NOT into it. Since a landscape’s lines don’t really exist, you don’t necessarily have a fine liner or a lot of excess white space to create them, the separation of spaces is all about the tones, value and texture of the paint, which can all be destroyed if you keep “annoying” the painting while it is going through it’s “awkward teenager” phase lol.
Well put! They won't always work out, but sometimes it's just about experimenting
Far too fast for me to follow!!!!!!
