new to watercolor so i also like the real time and your talk along sharing the process. nice painting too and i always love the subjects you find to do. . I'm practising on small size. thanks for all the content you share tom
You’re right! Painting that small did emphasize your composition and the interplay of light and shadow. I was shocked at how irrelevant correctness of detain and even color were. Even to the extent that some colors you used were demonstrably unreal, yet compositionally pleasing. Good lesson. Thank you.
So pretty. I love your colour choice. This purple greenish combo is so nice. This is the kind of watercolour I think is the best. When it looks more realistic than the real reference or just much better. Hope that makes sense😅
Really good instructional video, as I've been struggling with doing watercolor in a small sketchbook format. Thank you! I was wondering what brand of white gel pen you use?
@@rozk5318 no, overhead chandelier in my dining room, or in my studio I have the overhead ceiling light, 2 table top study lamps on each side of the workspace and one floor lamp with directional ability. @@paulah317 Thanks for the reply. Anytime I ever tried painting at night the colors looked totally different in the light of day. I was always disappointed. I might try your system. I am 77 and already had my eye (s) worked on, lol.
roz k get a LED food light bulb on a clamp light should be sufficient enough. Make sure it is 5000k or more so you get a nice white daylight. Typical tungsten lighting is too warm :)
Love your demos. I learn a lot from them. Could you please share information about the brushes you typically use. Are they all sable brushes? Do you ever use synthetics or other types of hair?
Hi, thanks for the video. I also have a question, I see that most of the brushes you use have the bristles bent in one way, more or less, is that an artistic choice?

I can't describe how much I love that painting, it's so simple yet so effective. I'm going to try It myself later
Thank you 😊
Excellent video. A great way to approach watercolors for a beginner. I’ve decided to paint smaller to focus on mastering the techniques.
That touch of yellow, in combination with the deep red and green of the boat, really livens the painting. Thank you, Liron.
really great stuff, love seeing realtime tutorials like this
Beautiful. Plenty of atmosphere and the initial wash looked so muddy!!! Magical! Thanks.

Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼
Knowing what's important to focus on at every stage is key!
So happy and grateful you found this helpful!

Amazing how you can use a photo I wouldn’t find very inspiring and make a beautiful painting.
I always enjoy the tutorials in real time. Nice work, Liron.
Love it! Encouraging for me. You have made me much braver!
great tutorial! I love painting small. Helps focus on shapes and values so much
Really excellent lesson. Appreciate how you explain your process along the way & how starting out small helps fine tune the process. Thank you.
Mini paintings seem to in vogue now too. Nice work!
great job Liron!
You make even something so simple look so cool.. Thank you buddy.
Great Liron 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Really useful info thank you! It’s always a shock to see how dark it starts. Then it dries light and all works out!
As always I'm alarmed by how dark your washes appear, and yet again another fantastic painting. 😊
Yes! Those dark initial washes can be terrifying! But then the paint dries and something magical happens. Amazing! 😸
In that case, never watch Alvaro Castagnet. :)
Another great video! I'd love to hear more about your color choices and the thought process behind them.
A great tutorial. Thanks Liron.
Love this!!
Very beautiful.
Thanks for sharing.
Excellent! This was so interesting. I have been wanting to go small, but confused on how much to include. Super lesson. Thank you.
Very nice 👍
Excellent artwork 🖼
🧡💚😊🎉💗🍀❤️💖
Great reminder! Thanks for taking us through the whole process.
Love your real time tutorials. Wonderful painting!

Good points. Made me think how I am over complicating a painting.
I'll be trying this tonight. Fun tutorial and helpful in skill building.
I cannot paint watercolors at night, do you have special lighting?

Very impressive! Keep 'em coming.
Excellent Liron mate, I've been painting a lot of 6x8" paintings recently. 👍🖌️🎨🖼️

Great video, as always !
Fabulous!
Grazie💐
Wonderful tutorial thank you 😊
Very helpful tutorial. Thank you!
Amazing
The bottom of the sailboat may be the keels. This is one of my favourite paintings of yours.
I tried it and guess what, it worked, thanks a lot again.
Beautiful painting. What kind of highlighter is being used? Very nice touch.

Always as excellent as ever :)
Nice one!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much! I owe you big time motivation.. Btw whats the white thing u used for the final highlight detail?
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
What's the white pen you used here for highlights? I've used a few that feel watered down, while this one seems opaque and thick.
Great ! Thank you
Prachtig geschilderd.
I think I overthink and overwork the paintings, when You do it, it seems so easy.
I paint mainly in A5... but it still took me hours to finish a painting....
Would it be possible to do the same painting, with the same amount of detail, only much bigger, simply by using bigger brushes?
Definitely! It may look a little minimalistic, but will still probably look great (:
Its called a twin keel.c
your boat doesn't seem to be IN the water, it is floating above it
It is very shallow water after all (: I believe these boats are nearly beached. But perhaps I could have done a better job with the ones furthest away
