Thank you for your help BUT I don't see the screen you show at 1:17, I do not have a 'Don't see your device' option and that is what I want to find. Any suggestion please. I'm using the latest version of windows 10. My device (PC) was shown on the list but I removed it, because I'm having trouble linking online to my 'One Drive' and thought resetting the device might help. Maybe it would, IF I could register the pc. Any help/suggestion most gratefully received.
I just found an easier and faster method for adding a PC: click on search or start menu -> find my device -> enable it along with the location option (or tap to disable and enable in case you already had them enabled), and then the PC will link with the Microsoft account and will show up on the list of devices. It worked for me!

I had the same situation than you, that shitty serial method was useless and also spent a long time searching with Google, until I tried this.
