My favorite lyric is by RM: "Listen up winter, you've bloomed me--now I'm gonna burn my branches blue." The hottest fire burns the color blue. Very similar to the BTS theme in "Fire," lighting passion/hope/dreams within folks. You probably mean that only very hot flames have a blue part in them, right? Because the blue base is actually the coldest part of the flame (~400°C) and if you want to heat something up using the flame, always aim for the spot between the blue and orange (~1200°C) #themoreyouknow Sorry, took it very literal I guess 😂

This does sound very epic and I'm constantly surprised how well RM's quite harsh rap goes with bright and beautiful vocals like in this, especially since my dislike for rap is what kept me from getting into BTS and other kpop for a long time...well now I know better^^ This song actually reminds me a bit of Agust D/Suga's "So far away" with Suran - though I personally prefer the version of it with Jin and Jungkook as Suran's voice is a bit too sweet for my taste. Anyways both versions are definitely worth checking out - the lyrics are very beautiful too. Also waiting for that ATEEZ reaction (btw pronounced more like ei-teez, a bit like how 80's is pronounced)
Blau Beere same for me regarding SO FAR AWAY... I listen to more male than female artists because the higher pitch of females voices sometimes grates on me. I tried to like the version with Suran but couldn’t get round her sweetness. Yet I often consider JIMIN’s voice to have a sweet quality and love his voice. Although Younha is high pitch she has a feeling of effortless power to reach the higher notes so it feels easy on my ears.

Younha is amazing! I love all her songs for Kdramas and I was psyched for this collab as fuck especially since Joonie is a fanboy of hers. 💜💜💜💜💜 And now Younha is the first female Korean artist to get a number 1 in Billboard! Daebak!

RM have expressed many time he want to collab with Younha in the past. He always recommended song on Twitter. Younha have been struggling with depression/anxiety in the past and she talk about it. if you are on Twitter, there are translator that translate the lyrics and meaning of the song
The songs theme is a flower talking to winter. They are saying how “winter bloomed the flower” instead of waiting for it to get to over its about going through it😇
You're pretty spot on about the meaning of the song! Younha talked about her burnout in 2018 and talked about mentality and her health. The album is called Unstable Mindset. Fun fact: A plum blossom is a winter flower, and thought as a harbinger of spring. A camellia is a flower that expresses missing someone you love or admire and the daffodil represents rebirth and new beginnings!
Younha is a female vocalist that mostly sing OSTs of drama series... her voice is just so soothing.. so calm.. & angelic...and RM was a huge fan of her... they really made this incredible song that fits for a movie or series... it gives off that feeling..

Wynnter. 🙂 it’s ok, there are lots of BTS fans (and generally Kpop fans) who also like rock/metal/bands. Long long time ago I used to turn my nose up at pop. Then I realised it was a stupid attitude to have and although I changed my outlook on pop, I didn’t have an artist that I really liked and never would have thought I’d be obsessed with a male pop group. But here we are 💜

Since her album is called Unstable Mindset I think your right about it being about mental illness, although I haven't read the lyrics of the other songs yet. Her album is really good, its very chill and the rest of the songs sound like they have a real band (and also hand bells I think) while this one seems more like a combination between produced music and a real band than the others
I’m actually excited to see your reaction bc I really think her vocal style is similar to powerful rock female vocals?!! I think of like Within Temptation kinda thing!?!
@@TheChampOfMedium She actually started her career doing pop rock, she really has a knack for rock ballads. Grey Clouds (from this album) and Rain Showers from her Supersonic album are great examples.
I'd love to see a powerful live performance of these two! I'm new to younha music and she absolutely slays! thx for the reaction :) you'll love ateez they are one of my favorite groups
Songs can be interpreted in very different ways cause they can be very subjective but it does seem like this has to do with mental health, specially knowing that this song is part of her album “Unstable Mind” which is a follow up to her “Stable Mind” album .... additionally, she also said that the “Winter Flower” and other metaphors used throughout the song were done in such a way to represent the journey of someone that blooms to be beautiful, strong, etc. even while growing under harsh conditions, just like a winter flower would. I hope that helps understand the song a little better! I loved your reaction and as always I was waiting for you to react to this cause I greatly appreciate your commentary and interpretations 💜 P.S. BTS is having a comeback on Feb. 21st, which means we’re officially on “comeback season” and we’ll be getting a lot of content in the days leading up to it. BigHit released the schedule today of what they’d be releasing each day, even if that doesn’t tell us much cause we don’t understand what half of it means, but the schedule did say that we were getting a comeback trailer: SHADOW, tomorrow so pls do look forward to that!
Younha is singing about overcoming adversity, surviving the winter cold and still blooming...RM is singing about encouragement and inspiration for his fans {ARMY}.
If you’re familiar with anime you might have heard of her. She had a song from 2005 called “Houkiboshi” which was used as an anime ending theme for the series Bleach in one of the seasons. This is how I had heard of her... probably around 2007-8 I heard that song from that anime. Aside from that have a listen to her EP (if you haven’t already), it’s really good. Your reaction is the best for me. Others reaction only concentrate on rm rm rm . Its kind of disrespectful cause this is younha song featuring rm. And you also mention about her high note while other reaction didnt even mention about younha's technique
I am not sure why but the first thing I thought of when I heard this song was Evanescence. I really love it. You should check out Epic High. They collab alot, collabed with Youhna, inspired BTS to beome artists. Check out Epic High and Youhna's MV Umbrella and then check RM and a fan's cover of it on a singing variety show. Just search RM Umbrella cover. Thanks as always.
Please Listen to all the EP "unstable mind" in order (mental health is pretty good guess, since the entire EP seems to point in that direction). Oh and all the flowers Namjoon said are flower who bloom from winter to early spring, something that blooms in harsh weather against the adds)
Art is always open to our own personal interpretation. I see it the way you did though as going through mental illness and someone standing beside them. With so many artists dying due to depression I think it was a timely release.
RM performed a collaboration live on a game/talk show. Search for Umbrella RM to see the back story and the performance. Also find out why they called him Kiss Monster. Enjoy.
don't know if you looked it up yet cuz I'm like halfway through the video but I have to say the song is about overcoming something with someone you loved by your side. from what I read apparently this song is supposed to mean that even in the dead of winter a flower will still Bloom so even in your hardest time you have Beauty by your side you have someone there with you who's going to fight for you be your advocate be your everything in your hardest moment. holding on to that person holding on to that hope until you're out of that horrible my son or out of that horrible chronic pain wave. I know with me I have ehlers-danlos syndrome and I can have a flare-up that can last for months or can last for weeks or daysand this song kind of to me represents me thinking about all the good I have in my life and how when this flare-up ends I will be okay and to just hold on. My kids and husband have always been hope and life for me. so for me more how much pain I experienced no matter how bad maybe my PTSD can be sometimes I hold on to what I have and this song just definitely represents I feel like I gave you for mental health and physical.
Yep it is very much about holding someone who is dealing with something like depression. RM often speaks specifically to those struggling with suicidal thoughts. South Korea has the highest number of people from middle school through their 20's committing suicide. Just these last 6 months 2 young woman who were in 2 of the biggest 2nd generation ( so like debuted a couple years before BTS) kpop girlgroups ended their own lives. Many young celebrities have done so and it's not by an overdosing drug addiction, it's suicide. I think this song like many of RM's collab and solo songs is specifically written to battle that. He has been open about his ongoing struggle with depression and melancholy. His reference to Autumn is a reference to living to an old mature age, I think. He likes to keep his lyrics open to interpretation, so I think they wanted it to be encouraging to anyone who is suffering and can't see the end of it. RM proclaims he bloomed in winter, the three flowers he lists are all late winter blooming flowers in Korea. Two are bright red. He is saying even in the midst of this suffering, whatever it is, you can bloom. I think he could be speaking about his own blooming as RM of BTS and as someone who is learning to love themselves more and more. I remember my shock when he admitted last year during a BTS muster fan meeting/concert that was on V App live to stream worldwide, he thanked Taehyung for encouraging him because he had been very down that day and felt like he couldn't go on stage. I hadn't realised his struggles were not past tense.
Dude, 2 months ago I posted in your reaction to Mamamoo's Hip video that you react to FTIsland video "Shadows". You HAVE to react to that video. It is by far FTIsland's BEST song! Please react to FTIsland's "Shadows"!
Please check out Sohyang. She's not kpop, but the best Korean female vocalist; if not one of the best in the world. Lean on Me is a great place to start.
I don't know what it is and why it happens but for some K-Pop songs that I hear, it takes me a few times to like a song. That happened to me with this one but now I'm kicking myself for not liking it. This is my first time listening to Younha. Her voice in this song is amazing! Gives me goosebumps. Also, I see you getting some Korean in 😂👌
Ateez is coming to Newark, NJ in April and there are still tickets avail that are reasonably priced for nosebleed seats. If you enjoy Ateez, may be something to look into. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go and have Ateez break my kpop concert cherry. Ideally it would be BTS, but thinking logically, prolly won't happen.
As you mentioned Ateez at the end, this song is produced by their producer Eden, I think the background vocal that goes "hold on" is actually his voice instead of RM's.

The song is from her album "Unstable Mindset" so I think that this song being about mental illness is a pretty solid guess.

인사하시는 발음 좋으셔요^^😊💜
Nice reaction. It would be interesting to see Younha perform the song with RM, but I doubt it will happen
I clicked so fast
I do believe that this song deals with mental health and trying to hold on, that this too shall pass! I'm looking forward to your reaction to Ateez ;)
I do appreciate the vocals in this track, but the instrumentals appeal to me so much as well
Dude, 2 months ago I posted in your reaction to Mamamoo's Hip video that you react to FTIsland video "Shadows". You HAVE to react to that video. It is by far FTIsland's BEST song! Please react to FTIsland's "Shadows"!
For your Top of Kpop: you should definitely check out Suhyun from AKMU, one of the most beautiful and impressive voice in kpop.
Also, I see you getting some Korean in 😂👌
감사합니다.^^
Ateez is coming to Newark, NJ in April and there are still tickets avail that are reasonably priced for nosebleed seats. If you enjoy Ateez, may be something to look into. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go and have Ateez break my kpop concert cherry. Ideally it would be BTS, but thinking logically, prolly won't happen.
감사합니다♥♥
ATEEZ YASSSSSS
I like your reactions. Please react to "Song request",, and Umbrella .
As you mentioned Ateez at the end, this song is produced by their producer Eden, I think the background vocal that goes "hold on" is actually his voice instead of RM's.
RM is first in writing credits
(G)I - DLE , a Korean girls group.... you might like to check out put it straight Nightmare version.. live performances.. and also lion & their debut Latata
ive done both of those last 2 :)
i recommend checking out @doyou_bangtan lyrics translation as interpretation doyoubangtan.wordpress.com/2020/01/06/winter-flower-feat-rm/, in fact i recommend reading her lyrics while listening to the song on spotify for future reactions as those colour codes lyrics are way off, she’s a korean fan translator and very accurate
Might sound weird, but her voice reminds me of Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation.
At parts, for sure.
@@TheChampOfMedium mostly when she sang in English.
I'm even more surprised to learn that this song was made by DREAMCATCHER exclusive producers LEEZ and Ollounder...
this song is anti suicide song.....so if u think for doing that just listen this angelic music
please listen to "Answer" the official MV from ATEEZ
