I think you'd really like Joke by RM, it has a lot of complex wordplay, rhythmic pattern and his flow changes are so fire. I would recommend this version below because the original one on their channel doesn't have good English subs, this one below is the same as the original MV but as good subs 👇 ruclips.net/video/OxMrBNBWksM/видео.html Another song that I think you'd love is Outro: Tear which is my favourite rapline song, I'd recommend watching the lyric video and then a live show because it's amazing live, especially Hobi's part at the end. Here's the live 👇 (I also love the live when they're in the black Dior combat outfits but this one has better sound) ruclips.net/video/srbHzi_VZ7s/видео.html
4:16 That explains why I love Suga’s style so much😱! I couldn’t figure it out before until you mentioned the vocal fry! I grew up on rock and metal music and I just love the aggressive sounds. Suga’s style just stood out to me from the very start of me getting into BTS and I fell in love with it (and him) and his aggressive style of rap. I kind of always felt nostalgic when listening to him, or at least something familiar. Of course his lyrical style stood out to me the most as well. But yeah, you inadvertently made it more clear to me as to why I love Suga so much. Thank you. 😂
Hey, I've really appreciated that you go back and catch the older stuff too. Might I also recommend 팔도강산 - Paldogangsan aka Satoori Rap. It's from 2013, and it's heavily culturally Korean. You'll probably also want to check out the dkdktv explained for it
Glad you are getting in to more of BTS. Luv your reaction and how you think and interpret things. TEAR is another one that is good too.... They use it to mean tear, like the stuff that comes from your eyes, as well as tear as in rip things apart (rhymes with pear) and then use fear instead of tear.... saw them perform it live as part of their Love Yourself, Speak Yourself Tour in their custom Dior wardrobe.... it was LIT.... Here is a video of this song at Wembley freaking Stadium (sold out two nights) and this one has the english subs built in from the fan who re-uploaded it so you can get both the performance and the lyrics in one (they get fast though so you might have to go back and pause a bit... cause that's how the rap line rolls LOL). ruclips.net/video/5L1imFm15hc/видео.html Hope you check it out. I think you will really enjoy it. Peace!!! EDIT: I saw it in Chicago in Soldier Field after full darkness and the lighting and effects were amazing. This performance at this link is Wembley which is a much larger venue but was only dusk....so the effects weren't as pronounced but still really good. So proud of them and happy so many ARMY were able to go see them there. Here is a fan cam (credit to UltimateDodo) from the Chicago show.... love the hat and energy RM came out with here (it was freezing cold and had rained all day so damp too but they killed the whole show and we never felt cold): ruclips.net/video/FyJ5BXC9nv8/видео.html
I think it's safer react to the fancam than the Wembley BigHit livestream video- vlive videos can give copyr1ght strike. I also recommended the same fancam as you in my other comment. Its probably the best from the last tour, the video quality is great and audio quality is good too. So yeah Soldier Field Stadium, Chicago fancam from the ultimatedodo channel! (it already has over 500k views)
@@uvayakone9281 Yeah I'm not sure if it matters but the first link (the Wembley performance) is from a fan site and doesn't have any of the Bighit or vLive logos or anything so I'm not sure of the original source).... but fan cams are typically safer indeed.... I'm trying to figure out if UltimateDodo is on staff or not cause he/she shows up at all the concerts and major performances, seems like. LOL....
Oh I'm so early! 😄😄 I love Ddaeng so much! I'm so excited that you reacted to it! It's one of my favourite BTS song out of all of them. I'm a Suga girl myself and he absolutely shines through the Cypher series to me. OT7 is truly the only way to stan BTS (with a bias of course). All seven of them are so important and integral to the groups sound and feel that without one of them it wouldn't be BTS. Hobi's style is so versatile. He has so many different flows and styles and uses so many of them in one sons. It's always incredible to listen to. In this song it sounds like Suga is rapping with a smirk. Like he's laughing at us and your can hear in in his voice. And RM. Oh man I love Suga but I think RM's verse is the best is this. From the wordplay to the speaking voice and the volume. It's kind of intimidating. Holy moly Ddaeng is such an incredible song. It's so intelligent and kinda satirical. And I think that the oriental sound, the traditional Korean instrumentals, is so unique sounding (especially in our modern age). Mixing it with the trap beats is so fascinating, blending traditional and modern. I just think it's so cool. 😊 If you like the more oriental/traditional sound they did a similar thing at the 2018 MMA performance of Idol. Really a beautiful performance. That explanation is so helpful. I agree that you need to go through the whole song and think about every line. But that's something that I like about it, that it makes me think about it and have to work to understand the meaning. It's not a nothing song that just sounds cool and catchy, it's full of complex metaphors and tricky wordplays. I really like the 'frog in the well' metaphor too. It's so true in relation to BTS's haters. And I especially like that even though it's a diss track, it's not directly aimed at anyone in particular. It's more of a brag about how well they're doing. I'm really looking forward to your reaction to House of Cards! My favourite vocal line track!!! I really love the drama and theatre of it. Anyway, I hope you have a good day/night!! Annyeong~~💜💜💜
I love this explanation video! I think David might have been off on the last point (frog in the well). I think RM wasn't mocking others for being stuck in Korea. I think he was making a point about them having a narrow _mindset_ that doesn't allow any room for growth outside whatever mental box they keep themselves in. This alludes to a lot of their early criticism. "You're a rapper, you can't join an idol group!" "You're in an idol group, you can't focus on rap..." etc etc. But because their minds are stuck in a well, they'll never see the level of success that BTS has.
We must be around the same age cuz Jake the Snake was my guy growing up! But yes good way to describe Namjoon’s part in this. Loved the reaction as always, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about House of Cards. That’s hands down one of my top 3 BTS songs!
OMG I just discovered your channel today, and I subscribed because I like your reactions, but also kind of hoping to see a reaction to ddaeng. I'm so happy
BTS rap line is simply incredible, and that is coming from a person that never used to like or listen to rap before. Haha. BTS has managed to change that. But BTS has also changed many other things in my life I thought I would never do, never think, never like. Suga is holding a very special place in my heart. I am not sure if I could call him my bias because I love them all equally, but he is somewhat special. Emotions he manages to pull out of me, when he sings and raps, oh man. Go and have a listen to his mix tape ( when he goes solo he is AgustD). All of his tracks on his mixed tape are such emotional roller coaster rides - "The last" and "So far away" are my absolute favorites. His lyrics are very very personal and so relatable. RM holds a lot of clarity, power and semblance in his voice. J-Hope is more bright, playful and unhinged. Suga is just ..... different ?? Somehow his voice and all raw emotions expressed through it has that affect on me. Sometimes he sounds resentful, spit-y and angry, sometimes he sounds desperate and solemn, sometimes nonchalant and detached, other times smooth like velvet and honey, sometimes he slurs his words, sometimes he is super clear. His style is so varied and never repetitive. If you like J-Hope and would like to see him in a different light, when he is blowing both his rap line buddies out of the water, go and have a listen to " Outro - Tear" ( both a studio recorded track and as a live performance from Wembley) - mind blowing stuff. Thanks for a nice and heart felt reaction:-)
I would recommend their 2018 mma performance. They showed haters who said they were to “westernized” and didn’t care about their Korean roots what they really stood for and believed. They stood up for themselves in the most amazing way. Also listen to their song Idol as it relates to this as well.
Mate, never seen this type of content before. I’m a metal fan and rap line fan. I lost my shit when you started talking about wrestling. Cool vid dude.
I know I'm 3 months late to watching this video but thank you for reviewing Ddaeng - amazing song! And I adore how much you love J-Hope... I feel like I'm always enjoying the same bits as you! Go rap line!!
Have you listened to thier set of "Come Back Home, No More Dream and Mic Drop" from thier 4th muster show? It's hot, fun, high energy and one of my fave performances. You will love it, please check it out if you haven't already.
Funnily enough, RM was afraid his part in this song would be boring. There's a video in their official channel (BangtanTV) where you see them making the song, rehearsing a live performance and then te performance. You can search it as [ENG] 180713 [BANGTAN BOMB] BTS PROM PARTY : UNIT STAGE BEHIND. Also I recommend reading doolsetbangtan's post on the song, it explains the references and wordplay line by line.
15:49 'sweet chaos'-day6? I'm loving your video, thank you for the time and effort that went into this. It means a lot to me that you searched the meanings of BTS song lyrics because they are so powerful.Their lyrics often get ignored or overlooked in other reaction videos which is disappointing but I know it's not always intentional. BTS can be at times a sensory overload and lots of people just don't know where to begin. Anyways I enjoyed the video and watched the entire thing! Please make more of these, and or other artist if you have the time and energy!💜😊
I recommended MA City as BTS ensemble song - it rap/rock mix, it have excellent live with subs too. I think it would be better to check the group's vocalists latest solos from LY albums to get familiarized with each vocalist unique voice. I recommend going in the order of Euphoria (introduction) , Serendipity(development) , Singularity(Twist), Epiphany (conclusion). as they all correlates to the overarching storytelling of the LY era. Also raplines TEAR is the Outro to the Ly:TEAR album while Singularity is the Intro, so I think it would be nice to hear it in context after you already heard Singularity.
Some of their other songs have explained videos like Fake Love explained and Spring Day explained. The fake love explained may still be a little confusing cuz fake love is part of the Bangtan Universe storyline (fictional storyline that runs through some of their music videos) but even if you don’t know the storyline a lot of it will blow your mind once some of the meanings in fake love are explained. And spring day mv and the explained video for it are a must see if you haven’t already. Love your genuine reactions 💜
Idol has that "oriental" sound as well with lots of references to Korea, also DKDKTV does an explain video about it too if you want to check out both ✌️
Loved your photoshop with our sunshine! ;D :3 XD hahaha, it's just genius. I love and appreciate them all, but JHope stole my heart and soul ... Can't do anything about that ^_^
Honestly I love you haha Your reactions are always so interesting, everything you say is spot on and the edits you throw here and there are funny :b I hope you react to some of Suga's solo stuff, I mean there is so much of BTS for you to see still and I'm so excited for it 💜😌
ARMYs like David Kim, too. However! The other DK, Danny Kim, back stabbed us. He bit the hand that feeds him, dissing BTS in a podcast interview with a "journalist" known to write inflammatory articles about BTS. He said everyone was tired of BTS and they should give way to other groups. He ignored the reality that BTS was the underdog and they deserve to go as far as they can, that no one who matters is tired of them, and that BTS and ARMY build DKDKTV's channel with millions of recommendations and views. It sounds dramatic, but we would all be boycotting the channel if we could find adequate replacements for Ddaeng, Spine Breaker, and Baepsae explanations. (Also, warning - their Spring Day, Idol, Map of the Soul: Persona, and Boy With Luv explained are mostly wrong or incomplete when they stray from the cultural stuff. We have replacements.) edited for vocabulary
@@221Bee Yes! I love Minidance. I thought her Seoul and Promise videos were especially nice. And the ones where she brings in her director friend to be impressed by MVs. Another fave is By Storm. His documentary on the 2018 MMA Idol performance was mind blowing. I always try to recommend these two, but you're right, they aren't popular enough. And By Storm requires a certain level of dedication, also. :-) They are both on hiatus at the moment, too.
@@starshine3588 And not all ARMYs care more about some random dudes on the internet than the group they supposedly stan. Seriously what are you on about? They have said bad things about BTS in multiple occasions, I don't get how you can be out here defending them and treating ARMYs like villains. But I guess hate is only acceptable if it's directed to BTS. I'm sure BTS loves to see that!
If you want some context you HAVE TO watch *WHY BTS IS TREATED UNFAIR IN KOREA* It's a must see if you want to understand their struggles and why they have to release a diss track from time to time to vent a bit :) 💜💜
Outro tear and then you just have the mixtapes for the rap line! For the outro there are live subbed version if you esnt those. Regarding the mixtapes, you could start with the main song (meaning, the one with the first music video) from each one mixtape: Agust D, Do You, Daydream, Forever Rain. In that order, and i also think they all have subtitles already Regarding the vocal line: if you make their first solos first then it would be Begin, Lie, Stigma, Awake. If you want their own projects (newer) then: Promise, Decalcomania, Winter Bear, Tonight :)
The guy you like is David. His personal channel is “Just David”. As you already know he is also part of “DKDKTV” which has more journalistic and investigative reporting on the k-pop industry. “Just David” tends to focus more on reactions these days.
Great reaction! Yeah Ddaeng is really awesome song. There is also cool live performance of Ddaeng and practice/recording session of it, I recommend to watch it :-) Now idk if you have chosen to see also live version of Outro: Tear, but I would suggest to watch a good quality fancam over professional video taken from DVD or vlive BigHit streaming, because you may get copyr1ght strike. I think people got strike from Seoul concert DVD. Anyway I recommend the fancam from the ultimatedodo channel, from 2019 Speak Yourself tour Concert at Soldier Field Stadium, Chicago (it's filmed like you are in the firs row in the audience)
Hey I definitely think you would like the older stuff of BTS and rap line. They have so much music! Even I don’t think I’ve heard all their covers and songs, but for sure check out their old albums. Rap line really brings so much flavor (lol) in their songs. And Yeah, its difficult to follow Foreign music, bc maybe you’re not grasping the full context, or not knowing slangs and whatnot but I still find it incredibly enjoyable. I barely know how to speak Korean and honestly I don’t have real desire to learn but idk Korean is just so appealing. It’s a wonderful language and seems difficult. Im fine with not being able to understand it at all, bc the language naturally has such a nice flow and it doesn’t bother me if I cannot understand word for word. I’ve been listening to Korean music for maybe 8 years now and it’s not a phase, as I thought it would be. Music really is universal.
Props for your reaction Props for Ddaeng explained Props for Day6 background music Props for bridging Jake the Snake with RM. I don't know how I feel right now but it's good. Props for the purple light 🤗💜
I'm 51 - grew up watching wrestling. To hear Jake talking about Macho Man Randy Savage and the lovely Miss Elizabeth. The guy who explained the video is David Kim (half of DKDKTV with Danny Kim - not related). He also has a channel now called Just David where he does reactions. DKDKTV doesn't do reactions anymore but in their older videos they have a lot of them.
PLEASE stop whatever you are doing right now and REACT TO OUTRO:TEAR., RM chews up bars, Hobi shakes the world, and Yoongi changes his vocal style at least 3 times and breaks your heart. RM’s verse is Tear as in crying. Suga’s is Tear as in rip, and Hobi’s is fear. The lyrics are just wrenching. It seriously is one of the best songs ever recorded. Watch the lyric video first, then live.
Wow. After watching your video, it just hit me that all the random answers that I thought was just funny and random during numerous BTS interviews were actually references from their songs.
The Champ Of Medium haha, I feel you, my memory is pretty fucked up too. Just a note, the korean language is filled with tons of onomatopoeia due to the great alphabet it uses, you can make a word for basically any sound. I’d encourage you to learn Hangul if you’re interested, the alphabet is very intuitive and is the easiest part and you can learn it in just an hour or two if you sit down and give it some time.
honestly bts has been writing diss track even from their earlier songs. in we are bulletproof pt. 2 suga said "All you who are called rappers because you can’t sing The rapper title is an extravagance for you" . the fact that they performed it again at the mama last year, in front of those idols.

I think you'd really like Joke by RM, it has a lot of complex wordplay, rhythmic pattern and his flow changes are so fire. I would recommend this version below because the original one on their channel doesn't have good English subs, this one below is the same as the original MV but as good subs 👇
ruclips.net/video/OxMrBNBWksM/видео.html
Another song that I think you'd love is Outro: Tear which is my favourite rapline song, I'd recommend watching the lyric video and then a live show because it's amazing live, especially Hobi's part at the end. Here's the live 👇 (I also love the live when they're in the black Dior combat outfits but this one has better sound)

That explains why I love Suga’s style so much😱! Thank you. 😂
Sweet Chaos in the background ahaha
Hey, I've really appreciated that you go back and catch the older stuff too. Might I also recommend 팔도강산 - Paldogangsan aka Satoori Rap. It's from 2013, and it's heavily culturally Korean. You'll probably also want to check out the dkdktv explained for it
if you want more rap line, outro: tear is… amazing, to say the least
Anticipating for Outro:Tear.
Pls do the lyric video first then the Live Performance.
Can't wait!
pleeease react to "tear" or jhope's mixtape
Have I mentioned how much I like your videos? I really like them
Glad you are getting in to more of BTS. Here is a video of this song at Wembley freaking Stadium (sold out two nights) and this one has the english subs built in from the fan who re-uploaded it so you can get both the performance and the lyrics in one (they get fast though so you might have to go back and pause a bit... cause that's how the rap line rolls LOL). ruclips.net/video/5L1imFm15hc/видео.html
Hope you check it out.
I cannot wait for this. You’re so intuitive; I know you’re gonna boss this!
I enjoy how thorough you are when you react, going back to watch it again after the explanation. Looking forward to your next bts reaction!
Thank you. I really enjoy your reactions and thoughts. Keep it up! 💜 (Yes I love your purple light)
can't wait for you to react to Outro Tear, that one is beautifully intense and emotional
OMG he's definitely an Army now - an OT7 at that! love to hear it... p.s. OT7, someone who appreciates all members
I recommend going in the order of Euphoria (introduction) , Serendipity(development) , Singularity(Twist),
Epiphany (conclusion).
as they all correlates to the overarching storytelling of the LY era.
Also raplines TEAR is the Outro to the Ly:TEAR album while Singularity is the Intro, so I think it would be nice to hear it in context after you already heard Singularity.
Absolutely agree w this 👍🏻
i literally cannot focus bc of sweet chaos in the background GOD that song is SO GOOD
thanks man for reacting this way
I loved the Sweet Chaos playing in the back, I really like Day6.
Thank you for the reaction.
I seriously adore this song and wish it was on Spotify DX
Sweet chaos in the bg love it!!!! Plus bts... win win.✌🏾🔥
18:48 "Frozen" like the tag game, he actually made a dance move for that line on the behind the scenes Bangtan bomb.
Like to listen more to people who really knows things about music and reacts with real input . Love this
Idol has that "oriental" sound as well with lots of references to Korea, also DKDKTV does an explain video about it too if you want to check out both ✌️
Loved your photoshop with our sunshine! ;D :3 XD hahaha, it's just genius. I love and appreciate them all, but JHope stole my heart and soul ... Can't do anything about that ^_^
Honestly I love you haha
Your reactions are always so interesting, everything you say is spot on and the edits you throw here and there are funny :b
I hope you react to some of Suga's solo stuff, I mean there is so much of BTS for you to see still and I'm so excited for it 💜😌
"Spotify insta!"
I FREAKING WISH.
I like how your background music is Sweet Chaos thoooo btw I just now started watching you and I am already subscribed!!!!!!!
you could watch the practice and the live performance, also the vocal line doing this song
We have replacements.)
edited for vocabulary
The channel Minidance has a few videos explaining BTS songs, I wish more ARMYs knew about her, she goes into so much detail.
flyushkifly lolol “betrayed”. You probably have no idea how ridiculous you sound to an adult with a fully functioning brain.
They are both on hiatus at the moment, too.
@@nicoleshh You're right about the word choice. I changed it to 'back stabbed'. 💜
If you want some context you HAVE TO watch *WHY BTS IS TREATED UNFAIR IN KOREA*
It's a must see if you want to understand their struggles and why they have to release a diss track from time to time to vent a bit :) 💜💜
In that order, and i also think they all have subtitles already
Regarding the vocal line: if you make their first solos first then it would be Begin, Lie, Stigma, Awake. If you want their own projects (newer) then: Promise, Decalcomania, Winter Bear, Tonight :)
The beautiful thing about this song is it was a free gift to the fans; who else does that!
If you liked Ddaeng, you definitely have to check out Baepsae (+ the Explained)! It is the original "Ok Boomer" lol its amazing
Watch Outro: Tear. Then watch a live fancam at a concert. It will blow your mind!
The guy you like is David. His personal channel is “Just David”. As you already know he is also part of “DKDKTV” which has more journalistic and investigative reporting on the k-pop industry. “Just David” tends to focus more on reactions these days.
Ok but now we need an outro Tear reaction pleasep
Hi i loved the reaction and all that but i just got the biggest smile hearing sweet chaos in your bgm
I love a deep dive. Nice job! 😀
There is a video of the vocal line doing the raps live in this song. You should check it out.
I'm so happy!!!! Ok I'm ready to watch the video now.
Omg you should DEFINITELY check out vocal line performing Ddaeng, it's such an experience
I love it
Great reaction! Yeah Ddaeng is really awesome song. There is also cool live performance of Ddaeng and practice/recording session of it, I recommend to watch it :-)
Now idk if you have chosen to see also live version of Outro: Tear, but I would suggest to watch a good quality fancam over professional video taken from DVD or vlive BigHit streaming, because you may get copyr1ght strike. I think people got strike from Seoul concert DVD.
Anyway I recommend the fancam from the ultimatedodo channel, from 2019 Speak Yourself tour Concert at Soldier Field Stadium, Chicago (it's filmed like you are in the firs row in the audience)
here is the link ruclips.net/video/FyJ5BXC9nv8/видео.html
loved the day 6 music in the intro
What was the background song you used at 21:33 I could barely hear it but that one part sounded interesting
day6 - sweet chaos
BTS rap line writes great lyrics. If you like raspy rock voices, I recommend FTIsland band, song Pray or Wind. Hongi is a phenomenal Korean singer.
Hell yeah! I think Pray would be right up his alley .
@@juneseghni I agree!
I love this song and I love BTS, but playing Sweet Chaos in the background was also very nice
Props for your reaction
Props for Ddaeng explained
Props for Day6 background music
Props for bridging Jake the Snake with RM. I don't know how I feel right now but it's good.
Props for the purple light
🤗💜
💜🇬🇧💜really enjoy ur reactions thank you 💜😘💜💜
I like the line that says “where are your haters at? Wash your eyes and face and look in the mirror, there’s your hater living and breathing”
Love this Ship. CHASEOK. or ChaHope 🥰
Good reaction! But its sweet chaos Day6? In BGM?
Ahh finally!!!
I think it might be their song 2nd Grade where Hobi changes up his flow like four times in one verse? He's a mad man 😭💜
Wow. After watching your video, it just hit me that all the random answers that I thought was just funny and random during numerous BTS interviews were actually references from their songs.
Dkdktv is a great channel :D specially for ppl who wants to know stuff about the kpop world but doesn't speak korean :) Go David!! Quack quack!
I laughed when you talked about onomatopoeia as if it was some obscure concept lmao, but good video dude, thanks for appreciating our boys ✌️
I smoked so much weed in college I'm happy when I can remember my own name
The Champ Of Medium haha, I feel you, my memory is pretty fucked up too. Just a note, the korean language is filled with tons of onomatopoeia due to the great alphabet it uses, you can make a word for basically any sound. I’d encourage you to learn Hangul if you’re interested, the alphabet is very intuitive and is the easiest part and you can learn it in just an hour or two if you sit down and give it some time.
honestly bts has been writing diss track even from their earlier songs. in we are bulletproof pt. 2 suga said "All you who are called rappers because you can’t sing
The rapper title is an extravagance for you" . the fact that they performed it again at the mama last year, in front of those idols.
Onomatopoeia is when the word is phonetically similar to the sound that it refers to/describes. E.g. drip/drop sounding like dripping water?
its greatthat you reach both lyrics video and explained in same time..
i wanna mention about1st video you could use song with english sub
there's a fun video of the whole gang practicing ddaeng on the bts youtube channel which you should watch (called bts prom party behind)
