I absolutely love that you took the time to research who Becky G was as well as listen to the original song. I could watch you doing that forever because it pays respect to the original musicians and to the work and individual style that they've put on the song. I also didn't know the original song or Becky G before watching this, but I enjoyed learning how much this song meant to a lot of people, including J-hope himself. Apparently he paid a lot of money to be able to use this song because it played a big role in his getting into dance.
I agree, I was surprised, touched, and really happy that he took the time to do that BEFORE his reaction to the remake. I appreciate this guy even more now. :)

AgustD (SUGA) is very deep, real and fast on his solo work, RM has very versatile work where he shows his rapping skills but also his very deep dark slo-mo style, and Hope's work is just like this song, literally he made the beat with his style, so Yeah! all of them are straight fire and they keep their lyrics very realistic. (Also, the solos of the vocal members are winthin their albums as a group and dont dissapoint at all) Looking forward to your reactions!!

I think that this version be represents jhope‘s solo work, he is all about oldschool funky vibes. RM has a various range but his thing is really being open with his feelings and sincerity, his first mixtape was full of rage and hip hop. His second one was unexpectedly soft and showed his growth as a human, the lyrics are so comforting!
Suga‘s tape is also a bit angry and ends with a hopeful song and I love it. His lyrics are direct and without filter, he raps about his struggles and so many people could relate to it. Everyone is waiting for his second tape to drop.
V, Jimin and Jin have also made their own songs , they are on soundcloud, these are softer and mellower songs but full of emotion. Jungkook has recently said that he is working on his own tape

You will DEFINITELY enjoy the solo stuff. J-hopes Hope World is just him. It is all his personality. Suga has the edge and Namjoons has such depth and wordplay. The vocal line has singles but no albums like the rapline as of yet. We can hope for some.

A little late but some info on the original. It was a big song for the black community starting in Harlem and spreading even to the Caribbean where I'm from. It"s the song that was played at family gatherings, cookouts, school dances and of course it was huge in the dance community. People would start singing it and you'd freestyle on the spot, lots of dance battles and collabs were born from this beat. So it's no surprise it spread through dance culture to Korea where it influenced JHope who years later payed tribute with this remix / remake. :)

I def think you captured the vibe about going back to your roots/ home. And JHope started as a dancer when he was very young & he’s bringing his heart home in the video. He said the original CNS helped to inspire his dancing when he was young. Also, I love that he has the credits rolling in the CNS MV where he’s acknowledging the dancers in the video.

I never knew about the original, or thought about what this song means or the original, until I saw this reaction video and comments. It makes me like the mv and J-Hope more.
I am secretly hoping BTS will make a ramen song that’s a hip hop dance killer. There’s chicken noodle soup, so why not the comfort food that unites Asia and the greater world? Pro-love => anti-hate. Common > difference. All the boys can contribute their memories of ramen and passion for it toward composing the lyrics. Suga can put together all the Asian instruments, maybe in the style of gamelan, and also all the historical, cultural, natural elements of our common world. It can be a tie-up with Nissin, and Naomi Osaka (sponsored by Nissin) doing a Tik Tom dance and forwarding the challenge to her beau Cordae, fellow tennis players like Nishikori and Serena and maybe some of the older ones, with Serena spreading it to her famous friends. All the ramen shops can play the music, all over the world. Complete with forward hip hop fashion and crazy set, They can even sell merch like ramen bowls and graphic t-shirts. Everyone who’s ever eaten cup o noodle type food shall dance away, and it will be played somewhere for a long time. Little kids will sing it and try to dance to it. A totally shaggy, maybe martial artsy, out of this world choreography that none of us can handle. What do you say/

I know you've probably been asked to react to Boy Meets Evil a BUNCH, but from one J-Hope stan to another, might I request you watch Boy Meets Evil, a J-Hope solo from the WINGS era aka what I believe is one of if not THE most popular comeback era for BTS? Even if it isn't metal music, it DOES have an aesthetic in lyrics, melody, AND set design that would not be misplaced in a metal music vid.
It's got J-Hope rapping, including some melodic rapping too. J-Hope dancing, doing moves with facial expressions that continue to give you cause to question your sexuality. And, of course, the most important of all....J-Hope. xD
