- A quick little project for me this time.
A boomerang pillow slip for our triangle shaped pillow. Whilst I could purchase a new one for cheaper than I could make it, there's nothing more satisfying than making something that fits better than the store bought covers.

Brilliant Christine! I would not have been able to make one without your tutorial. I am so pleased it does not have buttons! Thank you!
That's awesome. Thank you😁
Thank you for sharing, very clear and clever tutorial.
You're very welcome. Thank you 😊
thank you for your tutorial, it was easy to follow and produced a perfect tripillow pillowcase 😃
That's wonderful Helen. Thank you🙂
This was my first ever sewing project and this worked really well! Thank you so much for this!
That's awesome Amanda. Well done!😀
Thank you! I love my pillow and so nice to have another case for it. My Mom was an Aussie, sweet to listen to you!
Thanks Joan😀
Hi sweetie thanks for your video will try to make the cases , love my boomerang pillows
You’re welcome Amali. Happy sewing!😊
Worked out great! A little large for the pillow, but that's fine, the next one we have to buy might be bigger.
That's awesome Claire 🙂
Great project again..love boomerang pillows so comfy. Thanks for showing how to draft the pattern.
Thanks again Christine.
You're very welcome Janet. Thank you😀
Christine, please explain what a boomerang pillow would be used for. Maybe because I'm from a small town, but I've never heard of this, what are the uses for a boomerang pillow? As always, great tutorial ❤️Gwen
Since you asked, I won’t repeat, very interesting item.
I think it is for sitting up in bed, when you have a few ordinary pillows they tend to slide down, the boomerang pillow stays up without a lot of bulk in your lumbar region.
Correct Eileen.😀
Gwen, I was surprised how few people knew of them. They're very popular in Australia, and are great for reading in bed as they give you good back support 😀
Thank you so much for your video 0n the boomerang pillow. It turned out perfect 😊
You’re welcome. Thank you 😊
Christine thank you so much for this tutorial. I boldly offered my friend to make a pillowcase for her Ushaped pillow but I didn’t know how to make one without a zip. I have subscribed and hopefully will make one for her.
Welcome Carmen. This should be a breeze without the zipper😁
Oh I'm so excited! What a neat idea!!!
Thanks Amy😀
Thank you for sharing, that will come in handy.
You're very welcome Eve😀
I never think the ones you buy fit right , always so hard to get the pillow in, this looks a great idea Christine, will definitely be making one. Great suggestion. Thank you.x
Thanks Karen. This one ended up fitting better than the store bought one😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs yes the store ones I have brought you have to,slide on , really hard to do. I very much liked you idea with the one you showed us. Appreciate that. Still wish I could see like you.

I’ve never seen a boomerang pillow. Might need to investigate them.
When reading the comments I was surprised how few people know of these pillows Pat. They're very popular in Australia. Great back support when reading in bed, or recovering from some surgeries😀
I will have to dig out my pattern making rulers which I haven't used for years 😅. We can also make the pillow with the same pattern minus the folding. Thanks for the tutorial. 😊
You sure can Giovanna. I found it easier to get a balance curve on the fold, but out flat will work just a well😀
Beautiful covering! Making the curve is fabulous. I was wondering how you came to choose the measurements... to make the angle I haven't ever used a pattern and that curve was perfect!
Thanks Amy. I used the existing pillow slip as a guide😀
I registered 'boomerang slip cover' and was surprised you didn't just put doilies on your boomerangs like the rest of us ^_^
You put doilies on your boomerangs?!!🤣🤣
Thank you
You're very welcome Cynthia😀
I have never heard of a boomerang pillow. Plus, I have never seen one before. What is it used for?
Wow! I thought they were all over the world Arvetta. I was surprised how few people knew what they actually were.
We purchased this for Chris when he had his shoulder surgery, so they're a great support. Also fabulous for reading. They're very popular here😀
Thank you. Where can u buy a boomerang pillow? What is the advantage of it over a Refills pillow? Thanks.
Heidi, these pillows are great for reading and give good support for your back if sitting up in bed. They're very popular in Australia😀
will this fit a pillow that is 35 inches one way and 32 inches the other way??
Rachel, you could always extend or shorten each side to suit😀
I brought one with me from Australia & tried to copy it, but completely forgot to prewash my fabric and when I washed the cover it shrank so much I can barely get it back on the pillow I made. I also messed up making the boomerang pillow. If I recall correctly it was called a cuddle u pillow.
Can’t buy them here in the US, only much smaller ones.
Could you show how to make the boomerang pillow?
OOh, that'll be a test of my skills RG. I might just have to do this😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs That would be great if you could!
