“I rarely spend my money on things that aren’t travel” simple but amazing! I agree that experiences are so much more important to me than materialistic items
This is the video I was waiting for! I’m planning a world trip with my best friend after we graduate from college in 2024, and we just started planning our budget and saving up some money
By the way, your videos are what influenced me to make this decision and actually go for it, and I’m so excited:) We live in the south of Brazil and plan on going to three different places we know very little about: Central America, the Middle-East and Southeast Asia
I was going to complete my graduation in this year in May. I was going to be a Bachelor of Pharmacy thereafter my hostelite roommates decided to go to a bachelors trip but unfortunately this Pandemic showed up and now my Degree and Trip both hunged up. 🤣🤣🤣. All the best to you.
JUNAID SHAIKH I’m sorry for your trip, I’m sure you’ll find some other great moment to have a good time with your friends as soon as this is all over:)
Great tips, Lexie! I started traveling as a teenager by saving all my money and not spending on things that my friends were buying like clothes, going out, etc. I've since been to 62 countries. 😎 My top money-saving travel tip is to slow travel and live like a local in each place you go instead of spending like you're on holiday. Congrats again on traveling to every country in the world!
Good idea in theory but doing a video on all 200 countries is a bitttt unrealistic. especially when u have to take editing, fact-checking, etc into play and then recording 200 videos...And then she knows countries like Tajikistan will not get as many views as here experience in let's say India
Definitely agree with carry on only!!! We found traveling as a couple a bit more challenging to budget, especially if we wanted a private room (most cheap hostels dorms were 10 or more people).
Hey Lexie! Since you‘ve been to every country, could you maybe make a video about in which countries you could communicate in English and in which you needed to help yourself differently? Especially for Asian or African countries? 💕
I was so eagerly waiting for your new video, finally it's here, all I want to tell you is when this pandemic is over, I'll surely visit the most beautiful mountains in the world-Himalayan Range. 🤤
Thank you Lexie! this is loads helpful. I have been travelling for a while this has broaden my horizon and scope on the pro tips of solo world travel. Much love
I've been a digital nomad for 2 years now. I'd also add: carrying meal containers and doing meal prep is huge: ~$50 per week for all meals. The other is avoid touristy experiences and live like a local enjoying small cheap frequent more local pleasures such as unique appetizers, drinks, classes, etc. Happy travels!
Great tips... We are not backpackers (my dad used to be one) but we save a lot by planning in advance. In our last trip, I was the one who planned our itinerary adn searched cheap but good eating places and accommodation. The ratings from website helped me a lot.
I will start traveling the world next year. I will start with Central America then Europe and finally Asia. Your video was great information, thank you.
I'm 22 years old and I've traveled all over the world using most of these strategies - my only other piece of advice that I always advise people to do is plan your flights ahead of time rather than just being spontaneous! Great video, keep it up!!
Really helpful video Lexie. I'm really interested in traveling the world as much as I can and any chance I get to get some advice from people who have experience doing this, such as yourself, it really makes a difference and makes me realize that it's not impossible. Thanks so much. I recently subscribed to your channel and you got a lot of awesome stuff.
Thank you so much for helping all of us out. Most people have a misconception that travelling has to be expensive. Thank you for proving them wrong and challenging the norm. Honestly I would rather save money to travel and collect memories rather than buy materialistic possessions. Thank you so much!
I wanna travel so bad had to cancel my plans due to this situation. Your videos are awesome and keep that spark of travelling burning inside of me Tytyty
Quality tips. I would also include that getting data for one's phone is significantly less expensive in other countries. Where I'll spend at least $50/month in USA, my data packages have been $12/month in Hong Kong, $15/month in Mexico, and about $13/month in Colombia, list as a few examples.
Me gustó mucho este video. Siempre compartes los mejores tips y nada mejor que viajar gastando poco. Muchos éxitos en tu canal y gracias por compartir con nosotros tan preciosos consejos. Muchas gracias!!!!
Great video. $2.75 per night at a hostel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, back in December. There were even cheeper ones than that. I guess it was off season, plus we had never seen so many hostels in one city. We were in a 12 person dorm room with A/C, two bathrooms in the room, and the hostel had a nice swimming pool. Great staff, too. :-)
Wow! This is so helpful! Was just looking at doing some travelling next year (hopefully) and money was worrying me but this is really helpful. I look forward to more of these kinds of videos! Thank you
I love watching your videos, they are always very informative! I have a question that I hope you answer in a future video: What is the minimum monthly budget you need to travel full time?
Hello we hope you are well . thank you so much for all the tips and tricks you have shared with us . we have written then down . and will take notice when we are away next
Hey lexi!! Just saying ur videos are so helpful!! I mean they’ve helped clarify so many doubts and given me so many tips about travelling across the world!! So thx for that!!!
I had plans for New Years fail quite close to New Years and joking mentioned to my mate in Poland "What if I cant to you?" A day later I booked a flight to go to Poland for New Years, ended up being an amazing trip. Seeing an old mate and getting to travel at a sorta cheaper rate. Definitely a trip to remember.
Thanks for this, Lexie. In terms of accommodation, I think, it's not just about price. You should also consider safety and quality. There are cheap accommodations that don't exercise security measures because they can't afford hiring security personnel simply because they charge a few bucks. Take care, Lexie!
My mum always thinks I'm tight and never spend any money, but I just don't feel the need for new clothes when my current ones can last a bit longer, or a new phone case when my old one's starting to fall apart. The cheapest accommodation I've ever looked at staying in was 4 pounds for 4 days, which was either Azerbaijan or Armenia, but it all got cancelled due to covid
There are also services that will email alerts when flights out of your selected airport to various destinations around the world have dropped to very low prices. Sometimes these are mistake fares, and they have to be booked right away, so it requires some quick decision making, and the ability to then get the time off work. I just lucked into a great deal to Italy. 4 days after I booked the exact same flight was twice as much! (though I used points for a FREE flight!). For lodging, though, I personally have no desire to stay in a hostel! I have a hard enough time sleeping with others in the room, let alone complete strangers! I'm an introvert and I like my privacy, so to me it's worth paying more for a hotel room, even if that means a bit less travel. Sleeping in your car is another option (they make backseat air mattresses), and I did this for an entire week in Oregon last summer!
Thank you for the video! I really like the fact that there are great ways to travel the world without having to spend a lot of money. For example, street food is an amazing way to eat local, delicious food while spending little! I remember visiting Vienna a couple years back, and the street food was my favorite there! For working while traveling, I know a friend of mine used Workaway to live temporarily in a place by working and getting to travel around.
Great video. Thank you for your fun and upbeat videos. I love your honesty and sincerity. It's a great part of your character. I think myself and many of your followers on social media would love if you do a video on the 'Travel Considerations' for traveling in a 'Pandemic Era' (what precautions you would have to consider and what to avoid). This would be of benefit as the economy starts to open up. Thank you and stay safe. Love and Hugs from Toronto! PS - If you ever come to Toronto would love if you could do a 'Fan Meet Up' Event (with 'Social Distancing' etc.) Please note you have many fans and followers in Canada who love your Travel Advice.
Thank you 🙏 so much. I’m getting an rv in a couple months and will be traveling 🧳 we have to sell our house 🏡 now, which I was destroyed about but now I have a plan 🥳 I’m excited 😊 happy 😃 and nervous 😬
Discovered this channel just a few days ago and what came to my mind was that a video about how to travel to central america/middle east/southeast asia/africa safely would be very interesting. because all these are regions that to me seem dangerous. I know they aren't if you do it right, but before I go there in some years I wanna make sure to be safe...
Very good information! DO avoid AirBnB! Two experiences with them turned me into a hotel lodger as well: one cancellation while I was actually en route and then one attempt at a $300 cleaning fee on a $500 stay. Stick to hotels!
Hi Lexie, love your videos! The biggest obstacle I face in traveling is getting visas, as I hold a Bangladeshi passport. It sometimes requires a few weeks to over a month or two ahead to apply with lots of paperwork and the costs are high in most cases. Do you have any suggestions on this?
Can you please make a video on credit cars and points for miles on aeroplanes. And also which websites you use to get the best priced accommodation and flights?
