When you go back to Chile, head south... Araucania, los Rios and los Lagos are my favorite regions. There are many Volcanos, the Sea, lakes, rivers and very nice little towns like Pucón, Villarrica or Melipueco. The Andes Landscape one of the most beautiful in the World with Glaciars, the active Volcan Villarrica, the other Mountains and Volcanos and the clearest night sky anywhere in the World(*Nevados the Sollipulli for your bucket list*). It gets cold like even during Summer the nights are below zero and you actually can go dogsledding in the region, even multiple day dogsledding trips on the Volcan Villarica and sorrounding Mountains. If you seek real off the beaten path places, hed further south to the giant region of chilean Patagonia where the population density is like 0.1 ppl per km² and look there for undiscovered wilderness.
