My jack is 17. He's been my little boy since I've had him 7 weeks old. His name is Stimpy, l trained him very well first 1/12 2 years. He's never been on a lead ever since. He's completely bonkers but so loving to me, he never leaves my side. But if he sees a fox or rabbit his mind kind of shuts down, no matter what commands l give him and there's nothing I can do until the animal has gone then he's back to normal that's if you call them normal. They are the best dog in the would. They are so loyal and trustworthy and loving. Every thing you've said on your tube is exactly my little boy. I really don't know what l will do when he's gone. I love him so much. Ian. From England, Brighton.
Nyles has the rips (zoomies) when happy. He loves his many toys but has to do a squeakotomy on the new ones and then shreds the toy. He doesn't do that to anything else. He definitely has to burrow under the covers sometimes face out or not at all. Hardest dog I have ever trained bc they know what you want but sometimes they just want to be independent! But my favorite to watch him is when he runs and leaps into water...all 4 paws straight out and flying like superman! It is a JRT trait. They are tougher than nails and will take on anyone or anything that would try to harm me or himself but otherwise loving and independent. Love this dog. Just discovered your videos this weekend. Juno, our JRT fits all of those ten things...she has remained an only pet for 14 years. Her having lunged at much larger dogs was a major factor in addition being the reason we got (previously Mary). The whining did not start until about a year ago and absolutely a pain in the butt.
My little boy loves cuddles and has to have his nose buried under my neck. Always puts himself under blankets to sleep. The one weird thing he does is when we play ball. He loves to play ball but if the ball bounces or hits something, he will retrace ball but stop and sniff all areas the ball has touched before bringing it back. His little nose goes into overdrive and he won't bring the ball back until he has confirmed all areas the ball has bounced or rolled onto
Everything he has said my JR does and he loves to sleep in my hair. Loves to be under the covers(I have to watch him tho cuz he'll fall off the bed😂and he gets the zoomies in the smallest places.😂😂I love my baby. He wants to bring the stick inside Everything
Jack Russell's are the best. I love the Jack Russell hop ; running on 3 legs. And they understand everything. You say it once , it's like "I've got it ". They are always up for anything. They are fearless , loyal , smart , clever, cheeky , obedient and affectionate. However , he barks at anything . Just brilliant.

My Jack didn't whine much, he talked a lot though. He used a combination of whines, chirps, grunts, various barks and growls, even sneezing. They all had different meaning... ... That dog had me really well trained...
I've got a12 year old jack. It's been a long learning of learning. What I appreciate about your videos is confirmation I'm not alone in jacks behaviour
Watched this with a massive smile, laughing all the way through as my Archie(mini'jack 7 months old) does all this in abundance i was mentally going tick-tick-tick. We also had a JR for 12 years and exactly the same. Simply wonderful dogs and close to our hearts. He goes zoomie crazy especially after a bath without fail even after being out in the fields for hours, runs in and out of everyroom, every couch and inch of carpet. Yes 100%, moving around until the sweet comfortable spot is found then moving again just for good measure.

I think the girls are more vocal than the boys - mine makes all kinds of funny noises, she is also incredibly loving but bossy she loves trying to get me to go to bed when she is tired!
Eddie is just as vociferous. Started when he was tiny and he would do a "snort" which over weeks developed into a growl or a bark. He also does the sad complaining when he is inconvenienced. I also adore all of his quirks and ideosyncrasies.

My JRT does all those things---especially the sleeping under the covers as if she would suffocate---but one of the other. oddest things (*and I I have had three) they have each eaten their food from one side of the bowl at a time, bare to the bottom, carrying their food to a spot closer to me one or three pieces at a time, and then they eat the rest of the bowl clean too. Always the same, I look down and see a crescent moon of food left in the bowl. And lots of crumbs on the carpet where she dropped her kibble. JRTs eat fun
Rewatching all your videos because they are so fun. All of the items you mentioned my little pup has. But one I would add is I’m disabled and my little jack although she’s barely 10 inches is very protective. If I fall over she will stay with me licking my face till I manage to get up. But on one occasion she ran off and alerted a police officer who came to my aid. I don’t know if others have found this but she is also super perceptive of people. We were out and someone saw me as an easy mugging target. Before he even reached me she sensed something I didn’t and bore her teeth growling, hair up and kept herself between me and him. The knife he produced didn’t faze her and she went for his ankle, in a circling and threatening manner till he ran off. Only time I have seen her do this. She normally adores everyone, other dogs are allowed to run off with her balls or frisbee without protest. She adores the attention of children but has been trained to go to the adults first to seek approval that it’s alright for the child to stroke her. They are truly an amazing breed which can master anything despite their size.
My Monty to a T! So loyal. When I was recently sick, he never left my side. Such a personality, if he's upset he throws all the cushions on the floor. Digs into my bed. The zooms are hilarious!
My Jack Russel had many of these quirks in common with her. I also noticed two curious things about him: he would never walk ahead of us while being outside, even as we walked uncomfortably slowly for a Jack Russel, he wanted us to lead the way. He also really loved to look at his surroundings from above. Windows, mountains, bridges, he just loved gaze and look around from an elevated position.
The adventure thing is like when we were kids pretending to be spies...I always imagine the mission impossible music! But she's actually checking rodent or cat or whatever hotspots to see if there's any encroaching onto her property most likely. ..like they check out the little spaces where such things would hide or nest

@@positano3290 Regrettably since my last post we sadly lost both of our jacks 5 weeks ago . Both went in the same week .They were born in the same week as well. As regards to a long life lots of exercise, don't underestimate the amount of walking/running a jack needs. Food wise a complete dry food for working dogs supplemented with chicken especially popular. The little lass would watch it cooking through the oven door. Can't write anymore as I can't see through my tears Keep up the great channel.
@@positano3290 Thank you for the kind words. They will not be the last jacks in our life methinks. Maybe next year after our Scotland tour. God bless kind regards Bob.
My daughter came up with this theory that the reason why they have to be in the bathroom with you is because you are with them all the time when they are going to the bathroom, so it just seems logical to them. Another weird thing is that they understand that laughing is a good thing and crying is a bad thing that they need to help the human out.
When my jrt pokes his nose in the door when I'm using the toilet, I wave him away and he goes and leaves me alone. I guess he is just checking on me. He's very curious about everything.
Dogs feel vulnerable when doing toilet activities. They expect a member of the pack to watch over them. They assume you have same issues. So, they want to watch over you. Very common dog behavior. I have had other breeds. The JRT does seem more interested in doing things that make you laugh. They like their human to be happy.
The sleeping under blankets and taking their time to get comfortable is so so true. I live in Australia and Nelson my JR sleeps under the blankets in all weather including a stinking hot summer, i dont know how he survives, but he is 11 now and it has never effected him. When he is getting ready for a sleep he scratches the sheets or blanket in some attempt to fluff it up, and turn and turn and move blanket with nose and turn, and it goes on and on until its just right. My boy is very very good at hunting, he has killed more than his fair share of mice and rats...........its what he loves to do...............They are the best little dogs, love you till the end of time.
My jrt does zoomies and I laugh so hard. The more I laugh the more zoomies he does. I think he likes to make me laugh. Also, he sleeps in the craziest positions and when he sleeps in the bed he has to be under the covers nose and all. He makes a dog nest to sleep in and it has to be just right. After he pees he kind of stands partially up and scratches the ground with his back feet. It's hilarious. He has a blanket, his blankie, which he nurses, kills , licks and humps (and he has been neutered.). I don't know if he was taken from his mother too early but he will fall asleep with that blanket in his mouth. He has it in his mouth and his little front feet are moving just like he's nursing. He does other weird stuff too but I don't have space to write it all. He is just very weird but I love it and I love him so much. He's my buddy and I take him everywhere he's allowed. When he rides in a cart in a store he is so well behaved and everyone has to pet him. He thinks when I go shopping that it is all about him. He's so rotten but he's the best.
Zoomies= Nascar laps. Dotty June likes chews, and will chew to the end of one, about the size of a large to medium size marble, tossing it up into the air and catches it, then shoots SHOOTS off into the other room. She'll then throw it and continue running wildly throughout the house as fast as she can. It might be 3-4 laps later before she scoops up the chew and carries it off again in a dead sprint! When she stops at the recliner, lays down with her bobbed white tipped tail standing straight up in the air, she will wave her tail slowly as she notices she has my attention. Then the tail waves a little faster as she starts talking to me. Putting her paw under the chair, not breaking her stare with me, nor stop talking. She's tossed her bite size chew under the chair and can't reach it. She won't bark to notify my of the issue, she talks to me eye to eye. I tell everyone, June Bug is smarter than a 4th Grader! Dotty has never chewed on furniture, belts, other pieces of clothing or shoes. She's so well behaved and is so excited to see EVERYONE. All dogs are burrowing canines especially terriers. The deeper under the covers the better. Secondary to her butt pressed up against my back or under my chest. I think she kisses my ears because, I kiss hers! But, I don't lick! TeeHeee
I am pretty sure that JRTs do know what laughter is. They will do whatever antics make you laugh, because they are happier when their human is happy. Not a lot of breeds do that.
Having been parents of JR'S for many years , I must say they ARE the ultimate dogs! You failed to mention they don't know size. They will fight any dog to protect you. Any strange dog who comes around will know not to harm you. They will fight to protect you and them.
@@melindadendunnen9713 it's not hard work to give your dog attention and play time , if you want an easy pet that you hardly have to do anything for get a cat or fish.
My terrier, got the one that stands a little higher on the legs. When we walk outside he will make noises like he is choking and like he can't get air in his lungs. When I say he needs to stop acting like a clown, it stops immediately. It is like a big theatrical act.
My Jack Russell cross fiddles til his blankets are just right then sleeps. He also spends ages trying to get his ball on his back. Then when he gets it off growls at it and plays. He also growls at a ball thrown for him just before it hits the ground. WEIRD
Best breed ever! I’ve only had one, Josie, and she passed at age 17 in January from a blood clot and seizures. I was devastated when I had to let her go 💔 She was loving, energetic and loved going for rides!
Pretty much everything you named my now 12 week old jackie does. He's a pistol & a bullet. Already dug 3 deep holes in my yard, viciously chased a squirrel up a tree. Amongst all kinds of other quirky things he does. He's a little nut. He's fearless. I keep him gated in a large kitchen for 9 hours during the weekdays (I hate it but have to work) with plenty of toys, chew toys included. I've been walking him everyday. Don't seem to tbwart off all his energy. Lol And play with him. Tug of war, fetch. You name it. But I love your videos. Thank you.
I have a 2 year old Parson Russel girl. This breed is just like the Jack Russel only a little bigger. They behave just like the Jack Russel so everything you said is true for my Daisy as well. Mine doesn’t cry ever not even to tell me in the middle of the night she needs to go out. What she does instead she shakes her head really fast making the ears sound like hands clapping. They are wonderful dogs.
All so true! We (in UK) have German shepherd's and now a JRT too and he is such a different character. He has the 'ear obsession' for us (during cuddles) and the other dogs - who think he is quite mad..but he's so lovable - and a top ratter at our stables. So glad we bought him!

Mine just likes to be with you or someone all the time, even in the bathroom
That sounds adorable!
My jack sits on the floor beside me at meal time. If I don't give him the last bite he will say mom
I felt the same way! Our little guy seemed to want to zoomie more cause he knew it made us laugh 😅😅
They will fight to protect you and them.
my mix is always ready to fight but he will also fight me everytime if i try to kill any bug 🥺
Yep. "Wolfhound? No worries ... let me at it!"
😳 😬
That'd be a "No" from me.
As long as you’re prepared ❤️
I am biased, I had two; but they are hard work and need lots of attention, exercise and play!
I agree also that they have NO idea of their size and will go for whatever they decide!😊
@@melindadendunnen9713 it's not hard work to give your dog attention and play time , if you want an easy pet that you hardly have to do anything for get a cat or fish.
So correct and well.said..
My Jack Russell cry’s when I give him treats he loves
I love them so deeply!💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
You definitely know when a Jack Russell loves you; 100% 🐶 And yeah, zoomies! 😂😂😂
latest thing I've noticed is I have to tell him to get over here when I'm opening the door for the other dog
My Jack Russell/Beagle mix likes to body slam my stomach or the kitchen cabinets every time I am putting her breakfast and dinner in her bowl 😂
My boy! Rolls on his tennis balls on his back. Wiggles back and forth. He is the most personable dog ever!
My jrt rolls on his back on dog bones or a scrap of bread or whatever. I guess he is putting his scent on it.
My terrier, got the one that stands a little higher on the legs. When we walk outside he will make noises like he is choking and like he can't get air in his lungs. When I say he needs to stop acting like a clown, it stops immediately. It is like a big theatrical act.
I’ve had my Monty for a week now and he is only 11 weeks old, he does pretty much everything on your list… lol and steals socks…
My Jack Russell cross fiddles til his blankets are just right then sleeps. He also spends ages trying to get his ball on his back. Then when he gets it off growls at it and plays. He also growls at a ball thrown for him just before it hits the ground. WEIRD
A Jack Russell is a great dog. Keeps you one your toes.
Best breed ever! I’ve only had one, Josie, and she passed at age 17 in January from a blood clot and seizures. I was devastated when I had to let her go 💔 She was loving, energetic and loved going for rides!
My sincere condolences ❤
Thank you.
I have a 9yr old Jack Russell, and everything you mentioned is so true! I find the zoomies so hilarious by the way 😂😂
They love rolling in fox poo too 😂
I have a 2 year old Parson Russel girl.
They are wonderful dogs.
mine is loving licking nose😂
All so true! We (in UK) have German shepherd's and now a JRT too and he is such a different character. He has the 'ear obsession' for us (during cuddles) and the other dogs - who think he is quite mad..but he's so lovable - and a top ratter at our stables. So glad we bought him!
