I had one lovely boy. He defied the usual JRT blurb. He was the laziest dog I've ever met. All he wanted was to be on my lap, preferably under a blanket. He was happy with that. We expected him to be super active- he really wasn't.

My female JRT was rescued from the streets of Sydney's Kings X, her owner an elderly lady had passed on and Angel escaped then she arrived at my place, fully trained and so loyal to me as if I had trained her from birth. A truly amazing dog.

If you have the time go camping with your Jack Russell at a puppies age? Talking 2 to three weeks, You will not regret it. No leash and walk at night. They will stay by your side without saying a word.

We rented a house at the Outer Banks with a beach. She never left the area. Just ran around, dug in the sand chased things. No leash needed. She loved it.

JR are intelligent dogs. You can train them to rarely bark, not try to climb fences and to play rough games like soccer. Ours would let anyone into our house, but don't leave without us. Also don't go into the backyard without us. Ours were a good judge of bad humans. This was his place and he would guard it.

If you love these pets, consider getting a pair of jack russells. I regret only getting a boy cause they get lonely, and will cry when they are separated from their parents. My furry dog often run away to search for girl friend.
