    Brilliant. Very helpful. One add'l thought. You may want to make it clear how to change the SSID, if desired. If the main router has WPS, it's remarkably easy (proven by the fact that I could figure it out myself). :)
    Thanks again for the good work you're doing! Cheers from Chicago.

    Thank you for your help and detailed explanations! I attempted to use the direct TP Link RUclips instructional video and they didn't even go into detail as to how to connect the two. The 3 minute video was split into two sections and so they spent all of 90 seconds rushing through the process and talking quickly. Thanks to you I fixed my connection issues! I misplaced my instruction manual I used when I first connected it and needed help... Thanks so much!!!

    Just a hint from Denmark. In Denmark most houses are supplied with 3 powerlines ( L1,L2,L3), 1 neutral line (N) and one earth.
    To get this net powerline system to work well you must be sure that both parts are connected to the same power line EG; if the base is connected to a socket with Neutal and L2, then the extender should be connected to a socket with Neutral and L2.
    The easy way is to config in sam rail as shown at the good wideo clip from cloud.
    Then try different outlets in the room you want to use the extender in. In Denmark it is law to use at least 2 different powerlines for sockets in each room, hence one socket could be L1, N an other could be L2,N
    There are some good software to download for setting up( TL-WPA4220T KIT_V1_Powerline_Scan_Utility) ,and testing speed (tlPLC)
    At www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-WPA4220T-KIT.html
    Just for info
    Very best regards
    Lars

      +cloud123 ive got a question.. so if i need to pair i need to press the button on the master and then the on the extender? for it to pair? i usually play in my living room so i had wired connection and no lag at all except of servers.. recently i moved into my room n i get around 2 bar of wifi.. will this help as i wanna game in a quiet enviroment and fast internet. :) thx man..

    • @jacktechtips
      @jacktechtips  8 лет назад

      +Leafy Pride if you looking at faster speed for gaming then i would use a cable and not wifi, wifi speed only at around 500mbps if the single week then speed will drop, you can still plug a network cable (RJ45) and still get around 500mbps and you can now buy the TP-Link 1200Mbps Gigabit poweline kits. for gaming i would never use wifi.

    • @yakuzazgaming1382
      @yakuzazgaming1382 8 лет назад

      +cloud123 oh dont worry i always use wired connection and my.room is about 10 feet away from.my router .m the question is .. will the powerline adapter do its job and give me good internet

    • @jacktechtips
      @jacktechtips  8 лет назад

      +Leafy Pride yes only up to the speed you power line is as they come as 300Mbps , 500Mbps and 1000Mbps so it should be good for gaming on :)

    Hey brother.. That is a very nice video that you have posted. I have been looking for an alternative to the already existing bridge setup that I have at my place, with Ethernet cables running into almost all switch boards that I have. With that said, I am pretty much doing good with the wired connections everywhere I have the Ethernet sockets. But the master router that I have is in one of my bedrooms which is far from the living room and hence I can't help to get a good witless signal (speed and range both) in the living room, the kitchen, and the other bedroom. Sometimes the connection just cuts off. So I thought of adding a slave router and switch off the DHCP on that one and connect it to the master and have this slave one in the living room. But that didn't work either.
    I wanted to ask you the same thing that you shared in the video, about buying some more of that bigger power line adapters so that we could have one in all rooms. Does that solve my problem here? And have Wi-Fi connected everywhere from the same master router that I have in that bedroom?
    And then, will I be able to be connected to Wi-Fi all the time even if I walk from one room to another even if I have doors or walls in between?
    And how about streaming videos over these power line networks?
    And yeah, is it possible to use one power socket for more things like say if I had to charge my phone and also have the power line adapter connected ??
    I am sorry about this long comment, but I seriously felt that you could help me out in this situation.
    Thanks mate!

  • @hmongler8994
    @hmongler8994 5 лет назад

    Would like to see how to add another powerline wifi extender to another living area. Is it the same setup and pairing but with a different password for the new powerline wifi extender, or do you have to set up a new SSID? Do the plugs for the extenders needed to be on the same electrical circuit breaker, the same circuit breaker would mean it's wired to the different living areas from that breaker. There are multiple circuit breakers for other living quarters in a home. Homes are not wired with one circuit breaker throughout the house for the extenders to travel through. Just my thought on this.

    just bought this and can get it to pair ok, but how do you get the extended wi-fi to work?? I was under the impression it would use the same network and settings that I already use, however when I press the WPS button on my router and then the wifi button on the extender unit which is located in another room, it creates a new wifi device called tp-link_6b9100 and asks for a password. Few issues here. Is it supposed to do this, or should It connect using my existing virgin media network? If it is meant to create a new network and I am meant to use a password, is this the 16 character password found on the back of the extender unit, or on the back of the main unit plugged into my router? Not having much luck at the moment.

    • @jacktechtips
      @jacktechtips  9 лет назад

      +VeeDubRacing Right out of the box it create a new wireless Network so new SSID and Password which are all printed on a business card within it box, it also mark on both power line boxes, you can modify it to work with Virgin own Setting which i working on a video to show you how to keep it on one Wireless Network.

    Hi Jack, bought a new WA4220KIT.. followed your steps. all the indicators are fine, but the extender doesnt have internet connection, no wifi, no LAN. There is no issue with the ISP, direct internet works from the router.

      I would open the web interface to your wa4220kit as you may need to change some settings.

    Sorry for the dumb question to follow... but have to be sure before I purchase... how far apart can I have the two extenders (the first I realise right next to the router).... but the distance away from 1st extender ???? and some daft?? souls are talking about it not working due to a different electrical main ring.. I have a shed that is powered using lighting cable (dont ask!) .. surely the electric supply to the extender is there to power the extender only and has nothing to do with the electric ring within the house?? Please tell me I'm not going nuts? Like your kind and frank video xxx

      +S Avgoulis as long as all the cabling from one socket to other socket are on the same fuse box then i don't see an issue with using them. I know if i plug both into an extension lead it start having issue, so make sure the first one which plug into router is on a direct socket as the other one can work on extension lead ok. But i do like to see both of them running from the main sockets for a better speed.

    Great video but I have several TP Link units in my house. How can I move my iPad seamlessly around the house without loading the passcode for each of the TP Link units into the iPad. I.e. can I change all the TP LInk units to use a common password. Thanks

    Thanks Jack. My modem is hard wired to an Apple Airport Time Capsule which provides my wifi signal. Will this product be compatible with that set up for boosting signal to a dead spot.

    Hello cloud123uk.
    I followed your instruction videos to install my tplink plus an additional extender. It was really clear and i managed to set everything up so quickly. My router does not have a WPS button and therefore i seem to have managed to get 3 internet connections. Home, the extender starter kit and then the additional extender and all with their own password. Please can you suggest what i can do to make them all the same network address with the same passphase.

    You may have answered this already, and I think you said you'll be making a video about it, but I wanted to ask just to be clear in my mind. I'm currently using the AV200's and they work GREAT! However, the way I have things configure in my home, I have my wifi router in the basement but the signal is rather weak upstairs. The way I understand how this 4220 kit works is it can "extend" that wifi signal. But then I read it creates it's own wifi signal and not extend or repeat the original one. Can you clear this up before I purchase this item? Thanks!

I have now just purphased a D-Link DIR-X5460 EXO AX5400 Wi-Fi 6 Router with Gigabit Ethernet Ports, MU-MIMO, Band Steering, 1024 QAM, OFDMA, WPA3, Firewall, Parental Controls and Speedtest. Works with Alexa/Gooogle Assistant. to see if thsi will help. Have you any advise of this router to the TP-Link at all? Thanks

    I am using the TL-PA411 model and often get disconnected at random times, the internet connection dies for a short time before being reconnected. Wondering if there is anything I can do to stop this from occurring?
    Ive installed the tp-link powerline utility program and downloaded the version 2 of the firmware but have no idea were to install the two files for V2 firmware upgrade. Do they go in the powerline folder?
