That was very powerful what Ryan said about Chadwick. Just imagine doing that scene in the water and freezing ... That chemo treatment wrecks your body and to see him power thru that is something.
The reason, in my opinion, that tchalla's vision of the ancestral plain wasn't the UN floor where his father died is because by the time T'Challa was officially crowned and given the flower, he had already worked through his grief and rage about his father's death and it wasn't something he was dwelling on like Killmonger and Shuri did.
I also thought Shuri was going to see her mom in the ancestral plane but when they started prolonging the reveal, I realized it wouldn’t be her but I was clueless to who it would be.
I never would’ve thought it would be Killmonger but it was such a PERFECT choice for Shuri’s character development
I wish he had also mentioned the line Shuri said to Namor about vengeance consuming them, which was a throwback to T’chala saying it to Zemo in Civil War. Amazing
The film was truly incredible. Oh my God, Letitia Wright went through so many ranges of emotions so freaking effortlessly Grief, Anger, Apathy, Empathy and finally Peace!
It was also Trevor Noah in the first movie as the voice of her AI! Wanted more from The River Tribe in the movie as we were dealing with a water-based villain in Namor!
The Namor entry scene was looking so good in this clip, it’s bright and colourful but in theatres it was so dark. Both in IMAX 3D and normal 2D. Waiting to rewatch it on my XDR display , cinematography is phenomenal.
The Talokans salute is actually a Mesoamérica codex you can see in various pre-hispanic paintings doing the same gesture that means the Sun shinning
I LOVED this movie, Shuri shot up to be one of my favorite MCU characters and I feel it was beautifully done. 10/10
I liked it more than the first movie
I loved all the stuff with Namor in the film hopefully they'll make a solo Namor movie in the future that explores more of talokan
I would be totally fine with them using the T'Chala/Storm story arc with Prince T'Chala. Plus, by the time the MCU is mutant focused, we will be invested in the story.
I thought Riri’s arc in this movie was fine. The only reason we don’t think of her immediately while discussing the film is because there’s a lot more heavy elements being addressed. The grief and action would take precedence over Riri’s role in this film. Despite that she was still one of the funniest and interacted/helped the cast more than I thought she would.
Without her, the movie turns from good to great

In the comics Namora is known for being slightly stronger then most Atlantians have dexterity slight higher then most atlantians has durability slightly higher and healing that’s slightly faster ect. Maybe that explains why she was able to do what she did
Everything about what Chadwick Boseman did and endured just to bring Tchalla and the black panther to us is my reason why I love the way they made this movie he did not suffer in VAIN
they are giving her an entire series on disney plus that is why she was in the movie to promote her (iron heart)
I definitely noticed stuff I had missed on my second viewing. I actually liked it even more this time and it didn’t feel as long.
I did notice that they didn't feature riri Williams/ironheart much, but they're probably saving that for her Series that coming out next fall

the fact that she was so close to the sonic thing is the reason she did not die...those things to emit right from the start,it creates like a small vacuum at the beginning and effect starts after the vacuum....so she probably didn't die bcoz of the vacuum
Jaby, you asked in your live stream why Namor didn't get into the water before attacking Black Panther Shuri. I believe that Namor, when he declared Imperious Rex, wasn't doing just a war cry but saw he was about to achieve his goal; to get it, he had to lose. "A good king builds bridges, not barriers." Shuri released her final blow. But there is soon after a scene where his entire influence over all events and her is shown in reverse. Shuri is able to connect to her mother on the astral plane, but she had to burn her enemy down, literally, first. The reverse rememberance goes back to Namors first demand-Wakanda will assist Talokan in fixing the problems associated for the race for Vibranium. The final scene with Namor shows him drawing a picture with him looking into the mouth of a black panther and his head looks like it is surrounded by the panther's teeth. The picture looks like a big cat tamer in action. Shuri gives Namor what he wants. Namor fulfilled his promise to his people, having only potentially losing some face as a price. No loss of resources. No loss of his own power. No stated commitment of support from Talokan if Wakada needs it. A full commitment from Wakada to protect Talokan. Shuri saw her mother but actually did the opposite of what Ramonda did in life. Namor took a beating, helped a young woman release the bitterness of her grief, protected his people and their interests, and gained his mother's approval.
Interesting take. Gives Namor perhaps a bit more credit than I - but it is a fact that Namor killed the mother, making the daughter the Queen, knowing that she wanted to burn the world. To be continued.
So much to talk about with *this* film.
I have to laugh at the MCU or DCU fans who think the Black Panther films are somehow overrated and really can't see the difference in the level of sophistication between Cooglar and something like SpiderMan No Way Home or SnyderCut, which are absolutely simped out films, aimed either at little kids or adults with little kid thinking.

@@summertyme5748 Thanks for your reply. When I went to see Devotion last night I walked by a theatre patron who had exactly the attitude you've described. I've watched WF 5 times now. I can't help but think that some of the negative reviews with people with this attitude stems from people having an expectation that what they watch SHOULD be the same thing they watched before, only a better version of it. I compare this attitude to parents who read Mother Goose to their children thinking these are nice childrens stories, never knowing that Mother Goose almost got executed for her criticisms of the government, and got saved because a young prince was just too entertained by what she wrote.
In reference to Chadwick - I survived stage 4 colon cancer w/liver and colon cancer as well - his issues were probably with the chemo - it weakened the sh*t out of you and strains your immune system - I was dealing with chemo in a fetal position on my living room rug - I can't imagine trying to film a movie with physically exhausting shoots over and over again - he was a real superhero

I'm surprised that no one's brought up the possible repercussions of having the ability to produce an effective synthetic heart-shaped herb. I am interested to see how/if they explain why they wouldn't just give that to all the Dora Milaje at least... even if you invoke the idea of "tradition", Shuri is someone who scoffs at tradition, right? I do think it's an interesting situation because this data is now being stored somewhere in Shuri's lab in Wakanda, yes? I would think that would be as valuable as stealing vibranium. Maybe Riri should come back to work on the encryption, lol.

The nano suit is super air tight, so pulling the spear will clean the surface in a microscopic level, atleast thats how I think,. It's also a clever way to not show blood
I watched the movie today in the theatre. And it was good. Suprisingly. I had felt it would be hard to watch. While the coverage and mention of Chadwick Boseman's character in the movie helped the Wakandans overcome their grief, it probably did the same for at least some of the fans of the actor as well.
The Midnight Angel's outfit reminded me of Blue Beetle.
I noticed the dryness of Shuri's clothes when she rises out of the water in the ancestral realm, but felt the water was somehow there because she had mixed Vibranium from the ocean while recreating the herb. And because the ancestral realm has always been observed to be on land (and not having any bearing on the outward appearance of the Panthers - the mud and the sand seemed to fall off T'Challa's clothes as well when he visited his father), her clothes didn't get wet to reflect this dryness.
That scene with Namora breaking the sonar 'gun' reminded me of Superman in 'Man of Steel' going up against the gravity in that penultimate scene...
Paul walker did talk at the end
He said "Thought you could leave without saying goodbye" but if you listen closely you notice cuts making it hard not to notice its different dialogues stitched together
The kamehameha thing they do lol actually has some significance in old Mayan paintings High Royals and Gods were depicted using that hand gesture just a lil knowledge not many people know :)

The Talokan salute is based on the Aztec codice like saying hi or a appreciation like opening a gift.

Just wanna point out that Lupita is part Mexican and it was nice to hear her speak the Language. Also she's sorta dressed like Mirabel from Encanto in that scene
She was born in Mexico but is of Kenyan descent. She lived in Mexico until she was 3 years old and moved to Kenya with her parents.
Namor is easily the best written anti-hero/antagonist... truly a badass

I think Wakanda already has a device that can locate vibranium--why did aimlessly in Wakanda for it? We didn't see that in Wakanda Forever, I figure, because they weren't looking for Talokan, but where they might have hidden Shuri, since they didn't know.

So instead of being surrounded buy everyone who came before them, they were with the person they were closely connected to. For Eric that was his father. Shuri saw Eric, I assume this is because her heart was not a piece, she was still very much angry. When she finally calmed down and was at piece with herself, she was with family, her mother. When Eric was finally at piece, near death, he saw the beauty in the world around, albeit Wakanda at sunset, his twilight.

49:41 I still don't like the idea that you can challenge for the throne through ritual combat, coz then anyone with royal blood just has to be a better fighter in order to become monarch over Wakanda. Like, you could be a terrible person, but so long as you're the better fighter, you get to rule. Your fighting skills don't really equate to how well you can rule a nation. This is how you end up getting a "Killmonger". Wakanda, super advanced. Their politics tho? Maybe not so much. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the comics, ritual combat was never about challenging for the throne, but was about challenging for the mantle of Black Panther (which isn't just passed down from parent to child but can be inherited by anyone in Wakanda). Even T'Challa had to earn that title by winning in ritual combat. To me, that makes way more sense because as Black Panther, you need to be an expert fighter.

Doom which is the villain, who's after wakanda's vibranium. midnight angel suits are in reference to the comics maybe a disney+ series will be an aftermath of this. riri intro is a tease for viewers to be entice to watch a separate series or movie ecplaining her origin ( abt death of her father bff etc.) the question why did the palace doesn't have force field defense when namor attack it?
You know about that underwater speed tunnels, you'll see in movie Kong vs. #godzilla they explained it .
I know it's out of respect that they didn't reveal T'Challa's disease, but they could've built a connection with Kang. They could've shown that T'Challa was affected by some kind of Quantum virus released by Kang to kill the the Avengers, and T'Challa was the first victim of that. It's just my personal opinion. I think they could've include Kang in every movie like that to establish him as a threat like Thanos.

I hated the predator suits.. I hate everyone getting iron man suits period in the MCU, it's just diminished iron man's suit I guess with so many people doing and getting essentially the same thing.. hopefully they come out with Adamantium before Wolverine, cause covering his bones with vibranium will be lame, sorta like making Caps shield Vibranium is sorta lame now...
I do agree that everyone having an Iron Man suit does take away from how special it was in the original phases of the MCU but honestly it's been 15 years since the first Iron Man movie came out the MCU has expanded so much I think I'll get used to it man

I definitely think the Nope homage is a stretch given that movie just came out a few months ago. Sure Coogler and Jordan Peele were probably in conversation during their respective productions, especially since Coogler probably would've liked to get Daniel Kaaluya in Wakanda Forever. Still seems like a stretch.
Guys did you see that when Shuri was stabbed by Namor at the end fight scene and when Shuri pulls herself out, there isn't any blood showing on the spear...I didn't understand that, whether it is something which I didn't get or a another VFX bomb by MARVEL....

They always want to 'bring back' - which if you think about it (and they *don't* think) means they want creative people to just repeat the same chapters in stories already written.
But creatives are bored with that and want to 'create' new chapters.

I think folks not talking much about Riri isn't a sign of her development not being enough but rather a side effect of what this film is focused on, this film is about Shuri and the rest of Wakanda dealing with the loss of T'Challa and the conflict with Namor, by the nature of the story and its themes, that story and those characters would have more focus and would be the main focus of any discourse about this film. Riri is brought into the story to more or less give her a quick intro into the MCU, we don't yet need to really know that much about her full story because they have much more space to develop her in the Ironheart show. All they needed to do in this film with Riri is make her a fun likable character so that we'd want to see and know more of her, which given ya'll wanting more of her, they did their job. As for the armor, her having a covering armor isn't really an issue given we can see her face when we do close ups, besides, the Black Panther armor doesn't have a screen showing their faces either so I don't think it's necessarily needed.

I enjoyed this movie a lot more than most of this phase of the mcu and still am a long way from loving it, to me its good but not great
it was really good but shuri's suit doesnt look good on her and i just dont like the suit in general
so the whole end fight i was rooting for fish dude (thats what i call Namor) lol they made it look way better in some of the trailer scenes so i wasnt really expecting it to look like that

after Chadwick Boseman died, Ryan and all have to rewrite the script.., and thus we got Wakanda Forever plot.., what I’m thinking should have happened is that when they were rewriting.., they should have only put US GOVT in the plot as the villain and focused on that.., and that would justify the name Wakanda Forever.., Namor storyline is something that it needs a whole film for that.., the addition of US govt in the movie doesn’t do much.., it should have been a whole movie on its own.., Wakanda fighting US Govt on their own without their king and this the line Ramonda says that we’re the most powerful nation in the world would really really justify..
I believe that will be the third Black Panther movie as Namor suggested near the end of the movie

I enjoyed this film because it brought gravitas back to the MCU.
I felt like No Way Home was just too childish, and Multiverse of Madness to incompetently written and directed to enjoy.
This film continued the 1st films mature themes of loss and the struggle to find a way forward.
It's a successor to the first film in deeper ways - than just continuing a story of one fictional character.

For me as a non-native english speaker, that guys style of talking, literally like a machine-gun, is just way too much and my brain shuts down after 30 seconds and then after 1 minute i wonder why i still watch at the screen even since i have no clue at all what he is telling.

The starting, the ending, the post credit scene got my heart wrenching. Namor was badass. Letitia Wright, Angella basett was amazing. 🤍
It was also Trevor Noah in the first movie as the voice of her AI! Wanted more from The River Tribe in the movie as we were dealing with a water-based villain in Namor!
