Shame you won't be based in Ipswich any more. I often ride out and see if I can spot you. It's nice to have a local content creator of your quality in the area. I did spot you both once, walking in to town across Stoke Bridge; and as I rode past you were talking to Monika, waving your hands enthusiastically, and she wasn't the remotest bit interested - made me smile. Never mind! Good luck with the move.

The Riumph is looking super cool, Freddie! 😎 Your gear looks fab! It’s lovely wearing ‘normal clothes’ - I’ve gone for the Knox armour underneath.
We’ve placed bets here on whether you get those stickers sorted, which month, year, etc 😉 ! It’s great seeing you invest in the Bonnie upgrades, btw. Another great video. Good team! Nice work, Monika 👏

Your assumption is incorrect where the garment assessed by Freddie is concerned, which when he refers to “AAA” means it meets the requirements European Standard EN 17092-2:2020.
EN 17092 Parts 2 - 5 (part 2 = AAA, part 3 = AA, part 4 = A and part 5 =B) test garments for tear strength, seam strength and abrasion resistance. AAA tests to the highest severity and A and B are tested to the lowest severity.
Part 6 is divided unto undergarments (classification: CU), tested for tear strength and seam strength, and overgarments (CO), tested for tear strength seam strength and abrasion resistance. The test severity is the same as for A and B (i.e., the lowest requirements).
AAA, AA and A classifications require jackets and the too half of one-piece and two-piece suits to feature shoulder and elbow protectors (back protectors.and chest protectors are optional).
AAA and AA classifications require trousers to be fitted with hip and knee protectors
A classification requires trousers to be fitted with knee protectors only.
B classification does not require impact protectors to be present
C classification (CU or CO) requires a minimum of any one item of impact protection to be present. This could be any one or more of back, chest, shoulders, elbows, hips or knees.
Although intended to be worn as a base layer (and therefore ordinarily treated as a CU garment), Bowtex has apparently had its garments certified as if outer garments meeting the highest, AAA requirements of the standard. (Note: I have no connection whatsoever with this or company - Google my name and add “motorcycle clothing standards” for details of what I do).
Confused by all this? It takes some understanding at first.
And for Freddie Dobbs’ information; AAA is merely the highest performance level of EN 17092. EN 13595 Levels 1 and 2 are higher, and before EN 13595 there was the Cambridge Standard Level 3. The spirit of EN 13595 also features in the Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance High Performance Awards “Platinum” and “Diamond”.

Hi Freddie, when the ECU has been unplugged from its power source and the exhaust system changed, you must start the bike from COLD! without touching the throttle. Leave it idling for 15min without touching the throttle. The ECU calibration takes place while the fuel system is in closed loop, taking information from the various sensors such as the oxygen sensor. If that doesn't work, take it back to the garage for them to check the problem as it seems it's not been fueling or running correctly since you picked it up after the work they carried out. I a retired mechanic of 45 yrs. That's my advise.

    Interesting armour.
Must admit i wear it on the outside and my normal clothing is underneath.
So i can layer up or down depending upon the weather, and keep my base layer next to my skin so I'm never uncomfortable. And washing it is much easier, especially as a good base will last a few days.
    Good luck in London.
Ride safe and happy travels 👍

Fred, you guys make me laugh, I find your videos informative and interesting with much humour included.
I must tell you that when you change your pipes that you should nip to a bike shop and have the ECU re-mapped. Another trick is to disconnect the live from the battery and earth it. This way it drains any power in the system and in the ECU, it causes the ECU to reset to factory settings, then over the course of a few weeks riding it will map itself to your style of riding and fuel consumption will get better.
I still recon both of you would love Australia. We have been living here for 15 years now, perfect biking country. Come over, you can use the KTM 1290 adventure or the gold wing to run around in, or the jeep wrangler..
    Keep the videos coming mate.

I've also had the Bowtex Elite shirt and leggings but I found the leggings a little heavier compared to competitors. No doubt this is because of the level of protection. I swapped them for the Bowtex ultralight - very happy. AA rated and very lightweight! I enjoy telling fellow bikers I do indeed have protection when they throw a couple of remarks about my attire! The shirt is fantastic although for me, the Pando Shell 03 is better. Nicer feeling materials, feels lighter and I prefer the back protection. It is however AA rather than AAA. The best abrasion resistant gear money can buy. Great review.

Ohh Freddie & Monika, all the best with the move & brightness to the new home⭐️ Excellent filming as usual & story telling from both of you ❤️ Freddie, I have a thought… your “original” exhaust still sounds to have a leak somewhere? It still sounds like a VW kombi van🤔 The ECU tune ought to have been done right at the point of re-assembly. 15mins… just at idle (no revving) and triple check the gaskets & muffler to pipe sealing🤔
Anyway, enjoy the new digs to both of you 🤙

Take the bike to a mechanic and get the injectors cleaned/synchronised. Check plugs, your current ones are probably jet black. For ease of access to spark plugs, get rid of the secondary air stuff. Great video. Cats love cardboard boxes. The AAA classification mentioned by Freddie is specified in EN 17092 Parts 1 - 6:2020.

Hi Freddie, the guys comment about fuel use could be right. When I went from 4 into 2 on my Z650 to a 4 into 1 in the 80s I bumped up 5mpg because the 4 into 1 extracted exhaust more effectively. I also picked up 10kmph in top speed. So new exhausts 2 into 2 might be stifling air flow a little more than the old set. Someone who knows more about these things will need to help you out. But I have seen it happen in the opposite direction.

Classic!! I do believe, that there is indeed a theory about missing letters in words. I went to Dr Google on it a while back as a TESOL/EFL/ESL/stop with the acronyms before we all go mad teacher, and found (and tested on my willing ESL participants - and it worked) that the mind sees the first and last letters, and puts the rest together in the context of what is being read, and what the mind expects. I eneded up discovering what they meant by speed reading. So, sorry Freddie, at 15.44 your bike is a Riumph. :)

Hey Freddie, if you want the best c-2 level under armor gear…especially in hot weather, Bohn under armor is great. I live in south Louisiana and riding in 110 degree heat is normal.

Nice vid Freddie. One question, what’s the cost of the under armour garments? Or did I miss that bit in your vid? Would you recommend this above the Knox items?
Also what’s with the American Indian jacket?? Love it! Have just bought a Belstaff Brioklands Mojave jacket, but also fancy a tasseled tan jacket! 😂😂

You need to consider a little LED conversion for that headlamp. You may not ride at night but in the winter months it's as much about others seeing you on a black bike as it is about your own sight.

4:15 I don't think Bowtex developed Dyneema themselves; it's a proprietory fabric like Kevlar. Spidi do a riding jean with the Dyneema woven into the denim.

    Please confirm.

Hi Freddie. When they did the engine work recently did they hone the bores and put new rings in? If so, the engine will run hotter and burn more fuel with the extra friction until the rings and bores machine themselves in. Just a thought. Looking forward to your London videos. I have a Street Twin and live in Canada.

I think I may be one of the many people who can't understand why you would choose to return to London. Since the pandemic, right minded people are doing precisely the opposite and heading to the kind of places you are choosing to leave. Each to their own, but given your love of bikes, the countryside and freedom to move, I think you are bonkers.

About the under armour - it must need frequent washing, if worn close to the skin. Thus, one would need more than one set. Then it becomes expensive, presumably.
It's a very good product, I'm sure....but, you know, it's just easier to wear 15oz denim jeans and an armoured jacket. And in summer, an armoured over-shirt. Sorry if that sounds negative - but it's not for me.
    Good luck with the move!

I think the idea is to wear a base layer underneath, I know I wear merino wool under mine which adds a little bit more warmth in the winter and a little bit of wicking in the summer, and of course means you don't have you wash your armoured layer quite as much.
Then just throw on a Dobbsian jacket over the top (he's going to be so easy to spot in London) and off you go.

Good luck with the unpacking, south east London offers plenty of scope for escapes to the countryside.
My favourite is a trip out via Box Hill (you can go to Ryka's if you must) and then choosing the twistiest little roads to Shere which is truly lovely - the gelato place is to die for winter and summer. This time of year I tend to head on to Newlands Corner and then back up the A3 to London.
It's not quite within Monika's 30 minute riding distance, but you don't have to say 😉

My pleasure Freddie, I'm looking forward to seeing where you both go riding, you've both got the knack for sniffing out lovely spots.
It'll be fascinating to see where you find in and just out of London, and maybe it'll even go someway to persuade people the Capital isn't all hipsters and hyperinflated coffee.
