I bought every piece of gear in this video WITH MY OWN MONEY (except for the Haga Arai). I chose, tested, and used this gear before making this video and NO ONE PAID ME TO SAY ANY OF THIS.
I ride with full gear always. Helmet, gloves, jacket, riding jeans, boots and an airbag vest / backpack (helite h-moov). Sometimes it’s annoying to gear up but then I remind myself that I increase my survivability with a few percentages 🤓
@@deshawn4077I have owned the tech air for a couple of months and was pleasantly surprised how breathable that back protector was, would highly recommend it
Very happy I just got an Alpinstars tech air 5 and on my first ride with it at about 10 mph I hit a 4 inch deep pavement grove that threw me about 15 feet I landed on my chest, and because the vest had inflated I actually bounced and walked away with just slightly sore ribs and a pulled groin. My riding jeans did fine and my Fox Creek leather jacket with ghost armor came through without damage. I sent the vest to SeaCoast and the did a full service and sent it back the same week for. $179 well spent money.
According to my calculations it would be around 5.9 feet assuming an ideal 30-degree launch angle. Definitely not 15. Unless you meant the total distance your body traveled including something like your body sliding on the grass/road. Also I was wondering if a airbag backpack would it better or worse than your kind of vest. I was thinking about a backpack, because it would for sure be more comfortable to wear, because you can just use it as a backpack too.
@@Hiaki1000 I do not know about the backpack, but I have a choice on many jackets or coats for different seasons. I think any protection is better then the one you don’t want to wear. I landed on the front right side of my chest. The Vest gives full coverage of your chest torso and shoulders.
I prefer a balaclava myself as it helps keep my head from sweating so much in my helmet. One would think it would make you hotter but no. I use the Axial ones but I'm sure many will work.
I personally believe the He-lite air bag vest is better since it's the only one that immobilizes your neck and doesn't require being sent back the the factory to 'reset' the inflatable function.
They really need to make one that can be worn under a jacket. I'm going for the Tech Air 5 for that reason alone. Not all of us want to dress like a dad that rides a BMW touring bike.
@@chrisoz4929 I totally respect that and I would do the same if I had kids. The thing is, most motorcycle riders (especially sportbike guys) are vain. Like, neck braces work, but there's a reason you don't see sportbike guys wearing them, even the guys that wear race suits on the street.
I think that one of the most important things that people do not speak about is how lazy most people are to do their own fully fledged research on brands, standards, tech and models of said brands. The next is the importance of fit and finish. How it fits you, specifically and how it is finished, meaning how well is the item actual built, not how good it looks in design.

Currently wearing the following LS2 Advant X Carbon Modular Bluetooth Cardo Forma ADV Tourer Boots - Black LS2 Helmets Swift Gloves - Black Aerostich R3 Standard w/TF6 armor - Hi-Viz with Black Abrasion areas (I have full armor in plus chest, spine, and hips). This armor completely disappears from your awareness, but is much more substantial than the orange stuff, and also has hard armor on the surface of it. Trekker Boot Socks with Merino wool & Bison down (believe it or not I wear these every time I ride, even recently at 98 degrees and they were as comfortable as at zero). They are worth every dollar if you can get them. With my particular set of gear, I like it to wear it all year. Some people switch to perforated gear in the Summer, but what I have figured out is with the air flow that I get through the Aerostich, it is best to have a decent moisture wicking layer (no cotton) on all the time. This creates a massive cooling effect even when it is very hot and humid. You have basically no sense of being hot. It is very counterintuitive, but it works extremely well. For winter, I add a middle layer which is pretty hefty and I just close all the vents on the Aerostich. Winters in TN are pretty mild in terms of snow, but can get close to zero frequently. I come out of the backpacking and Kayaking world, so I tend to make use of some of the ideas from there in the motorcycling world.

I'm an off-road rider 95% of the time these days. I ride hard enduro style terrain but I'm not racing anybody. I wear a Leatt 7.5 MX helmet, Alpinestars tech-air off road shirt, RST jeans, Leatt dual-axis knee guards and RST adventure II boots. Oh, and Knox Orsa textile gloves. On road, I'll swap my helmet for a Bell Race Star, the same airbag shirt but an Alpinestars Missile leather jacket over the airbag. Knox handroid gloves instead of textile. I'm suggest more protective jeans instead of level A. That's barely better than cotton denim. In fact, cotton denim will pass level A. I like part kevlar lined jeans. Also they don't get as hot as fully lined kevlar jeans but are still so much more protective than single layer jeans.
I love these boots so much. I’ve done 65k miles in them. I took them to a shoemaker to get to sole redone after 40K miles. They are, 6 years later, still water tight, breathable and comfortable as hell. I will buy the same again if available. Not sure when lol. I ride a 3 season RST full textile jacket and matching bottoms with all the protection. In the summer I wear jeans and a lighter jacket with the same full protection. I only have one helmet, rain gear in my back pack at all times, three gloves for different seasons and that I believe all one ever needs. I do like the airbags; however atm the price outweighs the benefit for my wallet.
Love Rev'it gear. Just recently turned on to it and it hasn't disappointed. Get yourself a pair of really good quality waterproof gloves. Rev'it and Dianese make outstanding gloves. Wore Arai for years but switched to the new Shoei R-1400 last year and really like it.

personal tip... use quick ceramic detailer for your helmet visor it will keep it cleaner and you can remove any insect with your hand easier when riding
Hey Yammie I loved the video and you've basically saved my life with your video on NBT and such. One question that I haven't been able to get answered looking at all your gear video reviews or videos similar is what type of brand would you recommend for riding shoes? Me personally I'm just starting out and I would prefer to get some riding shoes before I get some big boots and I haven't seen much anywhere that talks about what the best brand/style of riding shoes are the "best" so to speak. Thanks again!
I'm absolutely on the ATGATT train. Helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, boots and even a helite airbag vest. While cumbersome and a lot sometimes, I know it's always worth the extra hassle to make sure that if I do go down I will come back to my wife alive and intact.
@@nothingtoseehere93 what does that have to do with the test results from surveys in medical journals about state troopers being clipped by mirrors while making traffic stops? While wearing body armor usually level three or better if they are smart.
You should check out the 3M E-A-R TaperFit Foam Earplugs they have at Northern Tool. They have a 32 NRR rating and come packaged in pairs in a 200 ct box so you can put a bunch in a pouch or bag and they won't get dirty and you will always have two as long as you have an unopened pack.
I got a modular ECE rated helmet Alpinestar textile mesh armoured jacket with back protector and chest plates. Alpinestar armoured gloves, not gauntlet Alpinestars armoured high top sneakers And I’m getting armoured Kevlar jeans this season
I work parts at a dealer and I always tell people "Safety is a sliding scale. It's up to you to decide where you fall on it." Another thing that people, even more so new riders, don't think of is: Gear isn't "Just for the crash." You ever take a rock or big ass bug to the knuckle or shoulder at 80mph on a highway and you'll wish you had gloves or a jacket on.
I bought SMX boots purely on the recommendation of Yam after watching a video a few years back. They're probably not the best value for money but definitely steered me in the right direction because I was about to buy something alot worse.
I've put those boots on my wish list. But I have 3 pair of TCX boots (no matter how much I look at others I keep buying TCX boots) so I don't really NEED more boots. I like boots that don't look like I'm walking on the moon, those Alpinestars definitely do look like that, but next time I'm at the gear store I'll try on a pair.
Nice! My gear; Helmet- Bell Srt Predator Blackout This helmets alright, good protection but the wind noise is a but much Jacket- Dainese SuperSpeed 3 Perf Pants - Dainese Delta 3 Perf Gloves - Dainese Full Metal 6 Gauntlets Boots - i wear vans right now like a squid, but will be getting the A* SMX-6 v2 boots soon. I did buy all of this myself, but i waited until the end of the year for HUGE sales when they are discontinued and new products are released. Over 40% off every item except the helmet.
I always liked the idea of buying an Arai helmet, but they do not offer any internal fighter pilot sun shade option. I don't want to pack different visors for sun and night, so i went with a Shoei GT-Air 2 instead. Not sure why Arai refuses to use internal sun visors.
I don't believe you can have the max safety rating with the sun visor. Whatever space the internal glass and mechanism takes is going to reduce the amount of foam/armor in that area. Easier than carrying two visors, wearing sunglasses in your helmet can work really nicely.
lol changing visors takes less than 30 seconds. If you’re really going on such long trips you’d have to carry another one, take sunglasses. This is a silly complaint, ngl
I know shoeis have photochromatic visors which change from light to dark depending on the weather for the RF models, unsure of the GT models. And yes, internal lens means less protection usually.
Im looking to by a helmet but i tried getting one online and it was made for a perfectly round head. So my front and back where smashed and then my sides had a huge gap. How are helmets sized?
I like the airbag idea and if I had the money I’d get one but I’d get tethered cause as advanced as it may be I don’t want to put my safe in the hands of a computer 🤷♂️
Just out Italian maker of the most popular brand of motorcycle gear is now producing a line of full body suits called the “ cannoli” in a crash the whole suit fills up with whipped cream! 😂
Because your head is bigger than your neck, and the helmet fits over your head, there's a big gap between your neck and helmet. That gap allows a lot of wind noise at speed, and helmet padding only helps so much because it's designed to reduce impacts, not noise. I'll wear ear protection every time I ride, because some helmets and bikes produce a high pitch at speed, especially if my vents are open.
No helmet blocks wind completely. You're literally getting hit in the face with it while you ride. I have a $300 scorpion and a $900 bell. The bell obviously does better than the scorpion, but I still wear earplugs.
8:32 about leather being more protective. Can you give a source to this claim? I'm wearing leather for the looks. Didn't know it was more protective. I'm curious. Thanks.
Make sure them earplugs are not the 3M earlugs brand cause we got them issued to us in the Army and now im sucfering from tinnitus since 2012. And im one of the 1milion plus in that lawsuit
I've never rode with motorcycle pants ever. Just started to now after riding for 7 years. It is the most uncomfortable feeling in the world. My pants get stuck to the damn pegs. It's a struggle to not wave your legs around like an idiot when you're taking off from a stop. I can't wear these anymore. And I paid $400 for it
Tryna find a quality quiet long oval helmet or longer intermediate oval with good venting, good wind buffering and speaker pockets, but no one makes a long oval and if they do theyre loud as all fuuuuu. The only Aria that comes in long oval is the signet and it is the opposite of quiet. Great helmet but loud af. If anyone has any suggestions. And no I dont want a scorpion or an icon. Im in Mississippi, so humidity and weather isnt much different. Yeah it gets hot, but unless youre in butt to butt traffic its pretty doable to wear the helmet/jacket/gloves/pants/boots. Theres also plenty of statistics to indicate that wearing gear is significantly more beneficial. Praying to be safe and then putting on gear that keeps you safe doesnt have anything to do with faith.
Deployed the Tech-Air 5 after two "whoops" on track and it is 100% worth the money. No injuries both times.
I use my SMX-5s not only for street and track days but also for Enduro riding. Just a great all around boot
I'm so glad you mentioned the isle of Mann. I watch some form of real road racing every day. Glad you're a fan! This is a well done gear recommendation video. Love your content
I wanted to buy my first pair of boots today and was really undecided about which kind and model to get, but you just set the tone! Thanks!
personal tip... use quick ceramic detailer for your helmet visor it will keep it cleaner and you can remove any insect with your hand easier when riding
Arai/Shoei helmets, Dainese leathers, Held gloves, Daytona Frey boots ...best of the best in class
Yam has Hair ?
Keeps sponsorship incoming
He looks different/better without the cap.
Best chest protector in an accident is a level two ballistic vest, studies shown its good at that. Doesn't need to inflate to work.
False airbags absorb 7x more than any CE rated protector
@@nothingtoseehere93 what does that have to do with the test results from surveys in medical journals about state troopers being clipped by mirrors while making traffic stops? While wearing body armor usually level three or better if they are smart.
You should check out the 3M E-A-R TaperFit Foam Earplugs they have at Northern Tool. They have a 32 NRR rating and come packaged in pairs in a 200 ct box so you can put a bunch in a pouch or bag and they won't get dirty and you will always have two as long as you have an unopened pack.
I got a modular ECE rated helmet
Alpinestar textile mesh armoured jacket with back protector and chest plates.
Alpinestar armoured gloves, not gauntlet
Alpinestars armoured high top sneakers
And I’m getting armoured Kevlar jeans this season
I work parts at a dealer and I always tell people "Safety is a sliding scale. It's up to you to decide where you fall on it."
Another thing that people, even more so new riders, don't think of is: Gear isn't "Just for the crash." You ever take a rock or big ass bug to the knuckle or shoulder at 80mph on a highway and you'll wish you had gloves or a jacket on.
I bought SMX boots purely on the recommendation of Yam after watching a video a few years back. They're probably not the best value for money but definitely steered me in the right direction because I was about to buy something alot worse.
Yep.. the airbag vest works. Personally crash tested it 1,5 weeks ago 🙈
The Napolean Dynamite reference with the pants was a nice touch
Are AGV helmets good I just like the look but I want to be safe
RF-1400, Alpine ⭐️’s gloves, Dainese jacket and boots.
Nice. I’m on my 2nd Arai. Tried a Bell. Was a bit noisy. Thanks again.
Rokker is expensive but have some great pants. Short of leather, Draggin' Jeans offer the most protection. They're pretty close to leather.
Isle of Man TT, you have got to go, there's nothing like it. I was there 3 times before I moved to the US from England in 2000.
AGV, Alpinestars gloves, Langlets jacket, Alpinestars boots.
I love your work, most useful stuff I've heard yet
Cargo shorts, filp flops, and a tank top and you're good to go. Don't forget the shades
Very helpful!
Nice! My gear;
Helmet- Bell Srt Predator Blackout
This helmets alright, good protection but the wind noise is a but much
Jacket- Dainese SuperSpeed 3 Perf
Pants - Dainese Delta 3 Perf
Gloves - Dainese Full Metal 6 Gauntlets
Boots - i wear vans right now like a squid, but will be getting the A* SMX-6 v2 boots soon.
I did buy all of this myself, but i waited until the end of the year for HUGE sales when they are discontinued and new products are released. Over 40% off every item except the helmet.
Buy a scorpion exo r420... better helmet and can be found for around$200
I always liked the idea of buying an Arai helmet, but they do not offer any internal fighter pilot sun shade option. I don't want to pack different visors for sun and night, so i went with a Shoei GT-Air 2 instead. Not sure why Arai refuses to use internal sun visors.
I read, they feel it compromises safety.
I went with the shoei rf1400 with transition visor, you cannot convince me there is a better helmet on this planet I lov my shoei
I like that leather jacket! I'm gonna get it. Thank you YAM YAMS! 👍🏽
I have the RST track tech evo 3 and they’re pretty nice for the price of $180 new.
your gear costs more than my bike
My gear cost half the amount of my bike, and its a ninja 250 no matter what you ride dont cheap out, be safe bro
I dead ass thought my vision was blurry since I didn't have my glasses on 🤣
Why don't yall sell gear on the website anymore?
AS far as helmets go, i absolutely hate the arai logo. if i could buy one without any of their logos id probably try one out
Im looking to by a helmet but i tried getting one online and it was made for a perfectly round head. So my front and back where smashed and then my sides had a huge gap. How are helmets sized?
What did happen to the motorcycle gear used to sell?
I actually bought the armored flannel which I wear all the time haha and wanted to buy more
I like the airbag idea and if I had the money I’d get one but I’d get tethered cause as advanced as it may be I don’t want to put my safe in the hands of a computer 🤷♂️
you should look at an frz400 there pretty interesting for an older bike.
Just out Italian maker of the most popular brand of motorcycle gear is now producing a line of full body suits called the “ cannoli” in a crash the whole suit fills up with whipped cream! 😂
I use the same airbag vest for the last 3 years.
This is my first time seeing your hair 😯😄👍🙂💯 GOOD VIDEO YAM ✨
Why did you stop selling gear?
Why only the A rated jeans when you can get AAA? Seems like an unnecessary compromise.
How does the airbag vest work in hot weather?
Excuse the ignorance but shouldn’t the helmet be able to isolate enough wind noise to avoid tinnitus?
Thanks.
Beardless Linus is back
Now Yammie is growing some hair on top?
Wild times
Do you wear the Airbag underneath ur Revit leather Jacket? Or does it even fit underneath?
Arai Qantum X for me cuz I got that bowling ball head 😅
Thoughts on the SMX-6 vented?
I don’t see the SMX-5, would the SMX-6 be seen as an upgrade?
Can you do a video about 750cc I’ve been looking for a 750 and I’m not sure if it is the best bike to get.
Do you know any otber brand besides HJC that have XXXXXL sizes?
Make sure them earplugs are not the 3M earlugs brand cause we got them issued to us in the Army and now im sucfering from tinnitus since 2012. And im one of the 1milion plus in that lawsuit
Did you get a hair transplant? I just ask cause I’m 29 and strongly considering one
And I paid $400 for it
What was your 2016 crash? Was it ur fault or a car? Genuinely curious
Thanks noobie 😸
Tryna find a quality quiet long oval helmet or longer intermediate oval with good venting, good wind buffering and speaker pockets, but no one makes a long oval and if they do theyre loud as all fuuuuu. The only Aria that comes in long oval is the signet and it is the opposite of quiet. Great helmet but loud af. If anyone has any suggestions. And no I dont want a scorpion or an icon. The build quality is trash
Aerostich ?
I watch ''CHiPs"every day and they didn't wear all that crap, crashed ALL THE TIME and were fine so that's what I do.but I don't crash all the time.I just say a prayer and ride safe with faith in the lord.praying to be safe then preparing for an accident isn't faith btw.put all your gear on and come ride around south Louisiana in the middle of July when the temp is 101 and the heat index is 125 with 99% humidity and you'll either be shedding all that crap or going to the emergency room for heat stroke.just isn't practical here to bundle up before every ride.winter time I wear a fair amount of stuff but not because I'm expecting to crash, to stay warm.
I dont really care what you do or dont wear. But dont lecture us on what to wear, and we wont lecture you on what to wear.
You put all that gear even if you go downstreet to buy something quick or to grab a coffee?
I am using a tech air 5
We got Yammie with hair before GTA 6
You get do anything with an SMX5, except hang out in public without looking like you just got off a motorcycle.
"THIS is not a sponsored video for Revit, But I recommend everything I sale on my website." "As you know we are a dealer for Revit." In others words I get an owners discount from my website that sales mostly Revit items😂"
This is not a sponsored video for Revit, but it is promotion for my website. 😉
Yo Wig be Funny ‼️
Can I replace ear plugs with Apple Ear Pods?
Who else realize that papa yams now got hair😂😂😂
Some hair
Thanks to vanced i can watch your videos again, those "giveaways" gave me cancer, luckily vances skips those automatically.
What is vanced

ATGATT
Thanks for the Video. It's Helpful. I'm Trying to Gain as Much Knowledge as Possible Before I Start Riding.
Well let me just say that those tinted visors are the worst because your ass is screwed at nighttime when there are numerous helmets with drop sun visors
I prefer a physically armed tethered airbag. No batteries, no algorithm.
Are you not selling gear any longer? Is this just temporary or are you out of that side of the business for now?
Wait, Yammie’s got hair?
Have you had a hair transplant ? Looks good 👍
