I decided to take on motorcycling at 40 years old but then, the pandemic came. While I was waiting patiently (and painfully) for the lockdowns to stop, Yammie Noob was the channel I listened to to keep me motivated, positive and entertained. 2 years later, I now have riden for one summer, over 5000 KM, and decided to buy the PERFECT TOILET. Yes, the Ninja 400, Haha!
37... I am negotiating a fair price for a garage space (city life suck), my big bike course starts next month and I am eyeing a vulcan being sold by some hipster living about an hour from me (ride home should be my virgin ride)
hey thanks for this info man. my uncle Jim passed away awhile back and my other uncle got his bike (my uncle jim was my hero, just never showed me how to ride). my other uncle who purchased the bike is no longer able tor ride due to health reasons, so your vids have helped me alot. binged your videos over the weekend contemplating the purchase, laid down the cash today. signed up for my local ABATE class and buying proper gear later this week. really do appreciate the channel, wouldnt have had the confidence to honor my uncles name and legacy through his bike without you guys
Yam mentioned generally going for a good brand if you know nothing else, and I agree with him there. You can get some pretty inexpensive starter gear from all the big-name manufacturers if you just take a little time to check their sites and then shop around. With summer coming up, also consider a mesh jacket. These are lifesavers, especially if you're planning on commuting.
Although I currently rock a very stylish Airoh Italian helmet, if you are on a budget, HJC all day long. They race at the highest levels and their helmets have fantastic build quality.
Make sure u check the cc's of the bike. I bought a 750cc bike and haven't ridden it because it's just too much for me😅. Considering downsizing. I start the MSF tomorrow. Wish me luck!
I grew up riding dirt bikes and my first street bike was a 200 enduro obviously slow but a super fun bike, I sold my 200 and got a Yamaha 650 cruiser and rode that for about a year I wasn’t super into the bike simply because it wasn’t my style than I got a ninja zx6r and I fell in love! Put about 10,000 miles on it the first year just recently I upgraded to my dream bike a 4th gen Yamaha r6 I’ve put a ton of work/time/money into it but it’s a beautiful bike!
I have to admit, I’m really enjoying your videos. Even though this video is geared more towards the noob, there is still a lot of good information here for us old timers who have been riding since the training wheels came off the Huffy.
i was just in a motorcycle accident yesterday please wear all your gear i know its not comfortable but it saved my life helmet chest and back plate are the #1 according to my emt
Thanks yammi as a rider who took a break for a few years this is comforting and helped with my setup. I ride a zx14 went to my local shop asked for proper gear and the wonderful employee said why? if you fall it's one a done. Very true but holy shit lmao
HWK jacket and pants, (Amazon) Joe Rocket Alter Ego boots LS2 Assault helmet EVS Misano gloves, I’m probably 750.00$Canadian, ~600.00$USD in on the setup.
I just did my estimate on my gear on Amazon. And I got full face ,cardo 4x , Milwaukee flannel armor , fingerless hard knuckle gloves, all for $660 or $670. I already wear work boots with steel toes. But still well under money on my motorcycle budget. And I'm pretty confident on my setup.
Watch your ankles. Work boots do nothing to protect them when you drop your bike at low speed. My best friend had to have two surgeries on his right ankle after laying his bike over in work boots.
im almost 15 and i have convinced my dad to get me a mt 03 2021 motorcycle im so excited to ride it to school and i have experience riding some good and some bad on my 2003 ttr 125 im so excited to get riding and thank you for telling me a little bit more about gear!
ive definitely crushed my ankle at work (i was wearing slip on vans) between a concrete carstop and a uboat full up with groceries probably weighing close to a small bike and then worked on it the rest of the day and then skated home on it
Here sitting with a $250 Amazon Bluetooth helmet, $200 padded leather jacket, multiple different leather boots (thanks pops for the freebies - some dude giving away brand new pairs). First year riding was good, this one should be too. Boss planning on giving me his old GoPro too.
My dainese racing 3 jacket arrived yesterday and I just can't get over how good it smells 😂 every time I walk into my room it just smells amazing because of my jacket on the back of my door 😍 can't wait to break it and my alpinestars spx gloves in
Thank you for this and all your vids for I am about to be a Yammie Noob in a few hours lol, my 18 year old son just bought a kawi z400 and I want to ride with him so I chose the MT03 and will be getting it later today I have watched many of your vids and appreciate all the awesome info and the way you give it. Wish us luck and two wheels down squids lmao.
a tip, at start of the season, i just bought everything on 70% discount on last season gear discount, and i got jacket, pants, boots and gloves for 350 eur together, which were discounted each by 70%, cos it was last seasons gear discount. Tho boots you recommend here are far cheaper than i got ones with the discount. mine were 120 eur after discount, without discount they were 389 eur. ( alpinestar )
Love the vids other than the dirt bike vids. Always looking for new hentai hornet news and turbo busa updates. Gear is as important as going to battle.
You probably won't see this comment, but I need help choosing gear for the track! Race suits, chest protector, back brace, neck brace, air vest... HOLY SH*T! Where the hell do we start? What do we actually need? Does the $1000 suit Not come with back Protection?? 🤣😐 Your videos guided me through picking my R3, and now 4000 miles later, I've upgraded to a 750 and ready for the track, but it's like I'm a beginner all over again! If anybody could point me to the right video/s I'd be Grateful
I bought a nice leather jacket with pads in the forearm shoulders and back I laid my bike down a couple weeks ago and it held up really well and the best thing about it is I can upgrade the pads to better ones when I get the money
Different helmet makers shape the inside of the helmet do fit different Shaped heads. Try on several high End helmets Get the One that fits the best, your family will thank you.Remember to get a new helmet every 5 years the inside does deteriorate over time.
Helmetwise, open face helmet do not protect the space where you have statistically a 50% chance to have the first contact when crashing, wear full face, it is simply better to protect you.
I bought some mesh overpants and wore those my first couple of years when I was going on the expressway. Very nerdy but cheap and functional. I'm still not used to spending $300 on pants so I only have one pair of proper jeans to this day.
From the REV’IT! Eclipse, SS united, SS Rust & Redemption, SS hot head, and SS Straight Savage 2.0. Which one is cooler (in the sense of most ventilated) I live in Miami. Also! Thank you very much for your video they’ve been a TONS! Of help

Anyway, would love to know your take on women’s gear.
I’d love a CC pocket. Way better than inadvertently breaking the law when your shirt or jacket ride too high going down the road, depending on your state. Plus no need to cause concern amongst other well-meaning drivers.

I’m probably the guy who makes the Frankenstein gear with pads sewn on Levi’s and touchscreen pads from a crappy pair of gloves on a full leather pair of biker gloves
Just starting my riding journey at 49, and no it is not a mid life crisis....lol With the removable hoodie liner for the Straight Savage Jacket, would this be good for summer, or should I invest in a summer jacket as well? Thanks for the great content!

It's crazy how that moniker for the bike really stuck haha, people still come up to me years later about that video on the Ninja 400

Why did u call it a perfect toilet??I'm looking to purchase 1 as my 1st bike
@@salinaslim23It's actually one of the best beginner bike you can get.
Never owned a street bike before but you yammie, single handedly convinced me to buy a turbo busa

got a 2 pcs set from dainese for 470 dollar new. Kind of a Bargain heheh
Although I currently rock a very stylish Airoh Italian helmet, if you are on a budget, HJC all day long.
They race at the highest levels and their helmets have fantastic build quality.
If you're riding off road, nothing beats a motocross boot. Works great for dual sport and adv.
Any recommendations? I have a dual sport
Y’all should do a video like this for ladies gear.
Right, because ladies don't wear normal clothes. They wear dresses and skirts.
Don’t tempt the dork with more videos to fill his pocket without ever having a real job. Tell him to go work a ranch or do some carpentry instead.
fr, why cant you man up
They tend to have different cuts, sizes, and styles. I shared this video with my wife, wouldn't mine having other options too.
They don’t make racing skirts sorry
Thanks for all the info Yammie I’m finally buying my first motorcycle in about a month and I’ll be safe thanks to you

As someone who wants a motorcycle, my "research" has just been binging your videos at 11:00 pm
I've been riding for a year and a half but for some reason the "beginner series" is still entertaining
I just finished my msf course and got a cyclegear discount thanks yammie

I hate to say but it is really convenient to just wear your normal shoes while riding, it saves me from having to wear a bookbag for my everyday shoes
I just got a Nolan N70-2 GT and I like it pretty well. An unexpected choice in this video, but a good one 👍️

Taking the plunge this weekend and getting my first bike. Guess it’s time to head over to the site and order some gear.

Me poor but want to go vroom 😕.
Speaking of Texas gear, is the savage jacket cool enough for these summers down here in south Texas?
