Very nice comprehensive gear explanations! Especially for newbies, but a great reminder for those of us gray-haired riders who are gear junkies. Glad to see that your store is carrying single-layer jeans. My only suggestion would be to include at least a passing reference to the slow but steady increase in availability of women's motorcycle gear. With the possible exception of helmets, men's gear usually doesn't fit us very well, and the search for well-fitting, safe, and attractive gear continues to be a huge source of aggravation for most female riders. We may be only about 3% of the rider population, but we buy a ton of gear per capita. In the last 25 years of riding, this woman has purchased a lot more riding gear than her husband (and just as many motorcycles.) Please consider adding more women's gear to your store inventory. I do appreciate the video your female co-worker did on women's gear. I would love to see more of those. Your channel is endlessly entertaining! Thanks!
Aerostich suits have been in very specific women's sizes for a long time, for 3 decades. The jeans/jacket combo isn't very practical as it always puts form before function. In my opinion, riders should have the 1-piece made to measure leather suit for the track and the 1-piece Aerostich suit that goes over street clothes for "everything else". However, I do understand that we live in the age of motorcycle cosplay and so it can be extremely hard to buy that last street suit you'll ever need in all weather.
I've had some Vanson track leathers--wonderful leathers-- but the over-everything nature of Aerostich (plus their ever-escalating, already high prices--yes I understand it's a quality, custom-made American product--always make me pass on them.
I strongly suggest avoiding matt black helmets and jackets if you live and ride where it gets hot. I had a matt black 3/4 helmet for my Triumph cruiser and I would get a headache after 15 minutes on a day Over 90. Thinking your gear makes you "look" cool doesn't translate to actual body temperature. Nowadays I have a gloss white full face and a white/grey ReVit airflow jacket for most of the year.
Great video about riding gear. Just one thing that did catch my attention. It was those lightweight riding shoes. If you want to use such shoes, go with the ones that have no laces or that have quick laces that you don't tie. Tied laces, the loops on the knots to be more precise, can get caught on your pegs wich can cause you to drop your bike in a very awkward manner. I wouldn't use those Rev'it Arrow shoes for riding.
being a 155cm woman isnt easy but luckily theres one Dainese suit thats perfect for me so im definitely buying it. and rev'it also makes some great gear for shorter women!
@@ashash1338 im not an expert but i'd suggest trying the mens section if you struggle to find gear that fits bc guys are generally pretty tall. dainese also does custom works so if u happen to find a suit in the womens section, you can have it altered to ur measurements(: (though they only do alterations to the fit in person (the stores) i believe) and only some of the models are available to be custom made!
Love the content yams ! One of my friends gave me a ride one day and ever since I've wanted a bike. Hopefully I'll have a bike of my own soon and start my riding journey. Thanks to your vids I'll be doing so safely.
I only ride in my "Borat swimsuit" since it makes me look hot. And i saved my styrofoam helm from when i was riding a bicycle as a kid from the 90's, so i thought i just use that to save some money. Got duct tape with me at all times, just in case.
Hi.Good evening. I just wanted to say thank you for this information. I'm a beginner this halp so much. And for you and family. Happy Holidays. God Bless.
This is the way I look at it: Is it made in Italy? Yes, then buy. No, then buy from Italy. Helmet: Is it ARAI? Yes, then buy. Is it SHOEI, well is ARAI available, if no, then buy SHOEI else buy ARAI.
Over 1000 here in nz but safety first mates just running normal jeans i said yea its algood till you come off and skateing down the road, i perfered to spend the money and got revit jeans wouldnt even know they are riding jeans and thats with wearing them over my work shorts
We need sizes for bigger people. Bikes don’t come with a size limit, protective pants shouldn’t either. My first riding pants is gonna be a weird combo of bohn armor mesh, regular pants, and leather daddy chaps that collectively will cost 4-6 times more and be more time consuming than buying one pair of actual riding pants. All because I’m a big guy who likes my skin ungrated.
My problem is my fat ass can only fit in helmet, gloves, and boots...I wear a size 58-60 (i measure with sewing tape and 60 inch is tight) pants US sizes and 4-5xl t shirts 60 suit coat...really really really hard to find full gear (pant and shirt) with armor...NOTHING i can go into store and try on...not sure if the ones i see online will even fit because I think they are (60 for example) are EU sizes which mean nothing for me. I am 5'10" and about 365 lbs...and YES I RIDE so have to just wear blue jeans from fat guy store and a coat...which is better than nothing i guess, but would love armored gear I can wear and be safe...FAT GUYS TO RIDE...i love watching the forums with some guy calling himself fat and wears a 42 pant...lol i laugh at a 42...I am a disabled veteran (Marine Corps) and can't lose weight or exercise like I used to.
I don’t remember where I saw a video that said you can go to a tailor or somewhere to get pockets sewn into existing clothings for armor. If you have a jacket (leather preferably) or a piece of clothing you enjoy and fits well, I think you can get the armor (elbow, shoulder and back) fitted into sewn in pockets, it can be mesh pockets. I would also (depending on fit) get a thumb and belt loop, so if you ever go down the clothing doesn’t move around and leave you bare.
Hey Yammie, went to your site looking to buy some gear. Im just seeing apparel. Am I missing something? Lmk...I'd love to buy from you if it helps support your amazing channel. Its been awesome learning from you. Looking forward to getting my first bike soon...Husq 401 ( Thanks to you) Mahaloz from Big Island😎🤙
Depends on how fast your scooter is. Realistically you would just need a helmet and gloves WITH palm sliders. If it goes over 30+ mph you 100% need gear. What I recommend is LS2 Rapid II which is DOT certified and ECE 22.06 certified.
Bro! I'm a hefty boy! Why is it so hard to find the max rider weight for motorcycles! Are they not for the big and tall? I want to start riding but weigh 420# any advice? (Other than loose weight! 😅)

After watching your videos for many years, I finally bought my first motorcycle

@@amygardiner2278 Aerostich is intensely disliked by cosplayers, I know.
Female riders tend to be a lot less enthusiastic about one-piece oversuits than male riders. 😂

There cannot be enough videos highlighting good riding gear 👏👏

This! Very good info!
I’d recommend doing gear shopping during the upcoming holidays. Many brands have great deals
Wearing my dads 20 year old racing gear, fits really well so i’ll just keep using it

For those thinking of open face… I was launched off a bicycle and the first thing that hit… my chin.

Get good gloves. I still got big blisters on my palms in my last wreck but the street didn't grind them off. Just friction heat burns.

I have been to the website.,... I never see any helmets, gloves, or riding gear for sale ever... just key chains and t shirts. what up with that?
Yeah that's weird, eh?

The visor on "off-road" helmets is for roost protection.

I love my Schuberth modulars but you can't see in a full tuck.
Get gauntlets with stiff wrist reinforcement. I went down twice in the MSF course and my wrists are still sore 2 weeks later.

Is the SS900 helmet available on your site at all? The link in the video description doesn't work (404 error).
I found it on Amazon, I was having the same 404 error repeatedly
I haven't rode my bike yet waiting on my oil gaskets but my boots are so stiff at the ankle I wory about being able to shift properly
how can you not mention ECE 22.06 if you talk about it that long?
Is the Shoei RF-SF helmet a good beginner helmet? To go along with a Honda rebel 500?
I bought the best I could find… yea, I’m the banana man with and airbag vest.

My full face helmet saved my jaw. I would have lost half my face with any other style.
Buy the best most expensive helmet you can afford. Your brain will love you for it.

It probably won’t be listed as max rider weight but as maximum capacity. Check owners manuals for those limits.
What gloves are at 4:50 mark?
How come your gear is not on your website? 404 codes
👍
Hard to get leather pants that fit those of us who don't skip leg day
