  • In this video, we attempt to repair another dead fat PS4 that only beeps when the eject button is pressed.
    I was using a new microphone is this one and I don't think it is as good as my old one. Probably won't use it again.

    Have a board now where someone was trying to do some HDMI work on the encoder. Haven't lifted up the shield yet on that but the board is dead like this. No beeps at all from power button or eject. It must've been powering on at some point for them to attempt a no display issue. Love getting boards with previous repair attempts 😂 good video as always. This board is at the bottom of my que but I may look into the south bridge as well on it.

    Great repair!
    I have one sab-001 board that has the same behaviour, eject beeps but no power at all.
    Using the power supply setup as yours it starts to initialise and then stays on the top A rating.
    I’ve already replaced the Southbridge with a new one and no go. Exactly the same behaviour.

    Nice repair 👍, did you reballed the south bridge chip? Or did you replaced it?

      I replaced it with one from China that was already reballed. It was internally shorted so I reball would not have helped.

    Nice content! I'm following all of your videos as much as I can cause I have a broken SAC-001 wich is not turning on, 1 beep, blue light and thne off. In one of your videos you check the 1.2 vcore and 1.5 vram at least for a moment while you press the on button. In my case I'm not getting neither 1.2V on the cpu are nor the 1.5V on the ram. Any clue where to troubleshooti? Thanks again and amazing content!

      You may have a blown fuse

    Can you test the standby voltages using the standard ps4 power supply?

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  2 года назад +1

      Yes of course. I have limited room on my workbench and like to see how much current the board is pulling so I use a bench supply.

    Greetings brother, you repair blackmagiec devices whose HDMI/SDI outputs do not work correctly. I have an ATEM STUDIO HD and the multiviewer output is not functional, comments saying that it is the CPU or voltage so that the cameras can be seen in the multiviewer. Anything I can send you repair examples

      Puhui T-8280. It's a 120V model. It is sold under other names as well I believe. Just search for the model number.

    Hello, I know this video is old but I would love ur advice, I have the same board than you do and my problem is that i got NONE of the Voltage you tested around RT5069 Except 4.7 is 0.401... And got 4.8V out the PSU .
    Any clue if they're a leaking or if the RT is bad ? Thanks a lot if you take a bit of your time to reply me :)

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  Год назад

      You might check F5001. It's a tiny fuse near the large metal thermistor TH6201. That area seems to be where the 4.8V is supplied to the RT5069. It may be switched by a MOSFET in that area but I would start with the fuse.

    Hello, thanks for the video. One question: I have a fat 1001, with memory error 0-1 and 7-6, I have changed many, I have changed the motherboard, but there is no way to repair that error, I have taken memories from another motherboard that does work. Any recommendations on the memory changes of those boards that have 16?, Regards

      It is likely that your problem is broken solder balls under the APU. You will need to remove and reball the APU.

    If the standby volts are missing around the ic needs to be replaced?

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  2 года назад

      You should make sure you have the +5V standby from the main supply. It comes from the 4-pin connector.

    I have a ps4 slim that i thought only psu is the issue as there is 4.7v standby but no 12v after shorting 4.7v and acdc_stby. But after seeing this video, I think my ps4 motherboard is also busted. Because even with this standby voltage there is no beep or blue light at all. 🙄 What do you think?

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  Год назад +1

      A PS4 should beep if it has standby voltage. I could be a dead South Bridge.

    Recently replaced a wifi bluetooth chip on my ps4 and after replacing the part my ps4 didnt not turn on at all and i dont know what may have caused that but it could be that hip you replaced in this video maybe there was a short or connector. But still cant find the right solution

      Remove the Bluetooth module and see if it works. If it still does not boot, look very closely to see if you could have knocked off any components.
