I found it can work with a cracked PCB as well. It makes for a pretty good extra wide trace like used for power or ground.

For destroyed anchor points or to repair large tracks, I use spot welder soldering tabs for Li-ion batteries. They are much thinner than the wick and the connector sits flush with the board.

Smashing idea, I've been using the thinnest Kynar wire I could get, crushing it a bit if necessary, and keeping it in place with UV solder mask, though obviously this is for fine-pitch legs on chips and the like. That sounds like a great idea for the larger stuff.

Those ps4 power connectors break off the board far to easy to be honest. I had my brothers PS4 in for a complete strip down and deep clean a few months ago. When i was very gently trying to remove the power cable from the connector, the connector just came straight off the board ( and took 3 of the trace pads with it ). With carrying out the same type of repair your doing here. Alex. I got his console all fully back up and working for him.

Still worth it. Knowing you are having an otherwise-working PS4 fixed is worth that price honestly. You could buy a new(used) one for $250-350 off eBay...but you don't know what other issues it may have under the hood.
Anybody checked what PS4's are going for these days? holy MOLY. Hold onto what you've got and take care of it, guys and gals.
I just thoroughly cleaned/dusted, replaced CMOS battery and repasted my PS4 Pro in hopes of keeping it running for a good long time. Electronics like this are becoming more and more valuable as inflation/chip shortage/production issues continue.

Being that this component sits up high with a lot of vertical exposure, AND the connection teeth make for a massive surface area, YOU are right to want to make it as secure as possible.
It will get yanked on again, I'm sure. People sometimes are like bulls in a china shop causing damage when it is not necessary due to their own carelessness.
You're beginning monologue was good today.
How bout writing down those thoughts and then when you have a few hundred pages of them, make a book.
Call it, "Thoughts to live by from Mr. Alex".
    Great Show!!
Oh, I do like how the "salesman" in you uses your inventory to show not just its value but how it actually works in the repair process.
It's no wonder you keep running out of supplies.
