Funny that the "lowest in the country" question came up. I spent 10 years selling houses and whatever you're selling you need to put yourself in the shoes of a buyer. Serious buyers will always pick off the lowest price examples. You can ignore any listings that are significantly higher. Fed's clearly buying at the lowest possible price and has the lowest margins. It's not rocket science.
Aha you answered my question on the Raymond Weil! Agree the movement is disappointing - but I love the look of it. Maybe I can get it at a bargain price in the future. I’ll keep watching the brand. And keep watching the channel of course!
First time commenting, but I'd like to congratulate you on your content. Regarding the Raymond Weil, I'm stunned that it won the award it did. To me it's a blatant copy of the Longines. Considering the price point and brand cachet I'd take the Longines any day. Keep up the great work, and all the best from New Zealand.
Great to have you back Fed and a very Happy New Year. Always value your outlook and opinions it’s usually quite refreshing too. Would be nice if Raymond Weil do go up in value as I own 2, a dress two tone (hey c’mon it was the early 90’s), and a Chronograph with the valjoux in it. Also agree that Longines is going from strength to strength. 😊
great video....great advice and great piece of advice on turn around your money and keep low or no hustle and sale a lot. I hope everybody that is a business owner thinks the same way! Incredibly a lot not!!!!
EVs are the Quartz watch of the auto industry. Not necessarily saying that as a bad thing. There are certainly some interesting aspects but it makes sense that someone who is into automatic watches would be more interested in ICE cars.
Agree completely with your call on Tesla and other EVs. EVs are heavy as hell. Yes, their center of gravity is down low, but compared to your Carrera even a really, really fast Tesla feels like driving a concrete truck full of concrete. Not perfect comparison because there are some great quartz watches, but the experience of EV vs IC (especially that gorgeous flat 6 sound) is like the difference between an anodyne quartz watch at the beginning of the quartz crisis and a beautifully finished classic mechanical horological piece. Keep up the great work. Really nice to have you back.
I have a Longines with the modified 2892 and silicon hairspring. It is more accurate than my Master Co-axial & Breitling B1 and right up there with the Tudor in-house. Probably only Rolex is more accurate.
How did Google know to show me that RW 6 hours before this video came out? I was just thinking that dial would definitely be one that would be on John Goldberger's IG page.
Bang on, so many recite the accuracy results having no clue about what that brand did to achieve it. Transparency is so important should comparisons be made. Unfortunately so many either don't understand this, or simply don't care.
Yes, Longines is killing it with their watches and Vintage re-issues, they are simply not cheating and it shows. I don’t have a Longines yet but I Will Nader how long I will manage to resist…
Oh please! The only reason you say it'll become a collectible is because you're getting paid to say that or because you're looking to sell some inventory you've been holding on to and want to create artificial hype to inflate the price.
EVs are very fast, for very short amounts of time. In fact, you probably need a speedmaster to time how quickly their batteries drain - especially in the cold. 😂
EVs are a fad. They are not economical, not significantly better for the environment, expensive, and there is no realistic way to support its infrastructure with our current power grid. The improving science with zero emission fuels will hopefully develop enough to finally put the final nail in the EV coffin. Or at the very least hybrid technology will do it. But all the cars on the road don't even emit a fraction of the emissions that ships and planes do, so it's not really the the cars. It's just about control and the backroom pocket lining of the people pushing the nonsense EV legislation.
@@BourbonInhibitions most of what you have just said is wrong. They are definitely more efficient and less polluting than a combustion engine when considering whole life cycle. Read any study from a reputable source. They all say the same thing. They are not a ‘fad’. They have been in production for over 30 years and market share increases year on year. It’s true that road traffic only produces a fraction of global CO2 emissions, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do anything about it. I agree research into low emission fuels should continue.
Manual transmission for me, only available on gas powered cars. EVs makes sense for day to day driving but let's face it, it's more fun to drive a sports car
As a daily driver, i feel an EV can't be beat for various reasons. I will never buy another ICE car unless it's a trailer queen or weekend warrior. No tree huger here, been around race cars my whole life. Really like the safety, electronics, convenience and acceleration of MY daily driver. EV's aren't for everyone, Exotic sports cars aren't for everyone either, drive what you like and let other people drive what they like, simple.
Longines are killing it, i just picked up a master small seconds salmon dial and love it. Punches well above its price point
"Like Hodinkee back in the day when they were still relevant" 😂😂💪💪

Great vid Fed, keep up the good work!
You are right, Fed - EVs don’t offer turbo lag… or any lag whatsoever ;-) Cheers
Just refueling lag…
Thank you for the episode, Fed.
Ciao Federico, grazie per tutti questi video. Sei molto bravo. 👍🏼🇮🇹

Happy New Year, Fed!
Good to see you back, Fed

Love that raynond weil, i might ve interested in it but ive got the omega ck895
Just had my fiancé pick up that Cartier for my wedding watch! Really appreciate it.

Always great videos, top notch and honest info. Thanks.
This is why we watch. Thank you for the honesty!

Can you go over the brand Jaquet Droz and the complete business model change they did?
Happy new year!

Fed please put subtitles on i am deaf and need them thanks
Can you not click the subtitles icon? You tube transcribed what is said and puts it in the video.

Both my Rolex Submariner 14060m and Explorer 1 114270. Run ➕ 1 second per day
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 My Tudor and Longines can do that too. I guess Rolex isn’t better.
Have not heard Raymond Weil in so long lol
Basic Fifty Fathom a vanilla watch ?

Love this channel
What longines watch did you show while talking about the brand?
Longines Avigation Type A-7
Panerai: surely they should change their name to "Pan'lid"?
Happy New Year, Fed. Welcome back!
Glad you’re back!
Turnover - amen brother!
Longines spirit zulu time or legend diver❤
Longines is killing it right now. I recently picked up a 39 Zulu GMT and have been very impressed by it.
Decent lower end company, spending a fortune on marketing.
Stick with "best price in the country" as you said in your discussion. In the intro, it's so often "cheapest," which has connotations beyond price.
My sentiments on EV's. I don't even like electric steering...
Acceleration/top speed in cars = precision for watches. It’s not about the result, it’s about the “how”.
Bang on, so many recite the accuracy results having no clue about what that brand did to achieve it. Transparency is so important should comparisons be made. Unfortunately so many either don't understand this, or simply don't care.

WTF likes turbo lag? 😂
Its fun, take skill to drive well ;)
@@FedericoTalksWatchesI quite like what Longines has been doing recently
@@OscarOSullivanme too. Since the splash the heritage 1945 made, it looks like longines has their design mojo back.
The first few 911 Turbos were called “widow makers” for a reason…. Humongous turbo output after nearly a second of lag, it’s the thrill……

Tesla are boring. Proper combustion engines give you the connection to the machine, that and the roar from a high powered engine!
Absolutely 💯
