I’m an EMT in Atlanta, GA. We have a tool called a “stair chair” that we use for people who cannot make it up and down stairs on their own for whatever reason. I have a female partner on my ambulance. This means that I have to radio the fire department every time we have a bariatric patient (morbidly obese) patient to move up or down stairs, because just like an amputee… they cannot get up and down stairs. I’ve had ONE woman out of about 50 who actually apologized for the amount of EMS recourses she was taking up. I’ve had several women literally say “I feel like a princess with all these men carrying me”. We’re talking about a chair with tank treads and multiple seatbelts where muscular men who stay in shape for their jobs have to take it one stair at a time, and count down to 3 for every lift. How the fuck does that make you feel like a princess? 😂 You should feel like a problem. I’m not just shaming women. Plenty of men are “bariatric” too. I swear to god they give an effort though. It’s hard enough with special equipment! I don’t know how y’all ladies at these health and rehabilitation centers get the job done. (I’m kidding. Y’all CNA’s and LPNs know you call 911) 😂. I don't think they are turning being fat or eating bad things into GOOD .... what they are doing is moving, and living, as they are - which will HELP them lose weight - too many people are fat and feel huge hate even walking down a street - most people get fat due to some horrible situations in their life they ease with food - why do many people shame them when they FINALLY can see the bigger picture and want to move, and swim and walk and dance .... in order to get healthier and skinnier. Please don't conflate saying they are PROMOTING BEING FAT - with just Being Fat and LIVING A LIFE
Tim was honestly pretty insightful with the fact that it’s all mental and when you have an addiction to food your mind picks out negative things to “ feed your addiction “ to justify the eating.

Addiction, especially when it comes to food, is about the body’s response to particular behaviours, and by the time a mere habit becomes an addiction these responses have been burned in. Overcoming addiction is the physiological equivalent of removing a tattoo, by yourself, with no anaesthetic.
Lol, quit projecting your own toxic mentality onto others. Some people just eat oversized portions because that's how they were taught to eat by their fat parents. They don't even realize they are overeating. Or have you ever heard of metabolism?? Some people actually gain more weight than others, even on the same diet. 🤦
