PI have a idea for a cake. A Kit-Kat bar cake the recipe calls for kit-kats plain or peanut m and ms also chocolate oreos so what you do is use cream cheese and mix the crushed up oreos and the m and ms to make the filling and then to make the outside you would use the kit-kats that are crushed and use milk chocolate to make the outside then you fridgerate for 30 minutes a to hour. Put your Carolyn twist on it this is my favorite . From your 10 year old Zoe thats why some words are miss spelled. THANK YOU

If you're going to be melting chocolate in the place of cocoa powder, I have no idea. You'd have to test that. Why not just make the cake as directed and use a German Chocolate icing? I went with "mocha" meaning a lighter chocolate flavor, cocoa and milk. Sometimes the coffee can overtake a recipe. It's a real fine line. You can try it but do it a teaspoon at a time.
What cake are you talking about? You don't need to add anything else to this one. Pound cakes are not always forgiving when you go adding too much moisture. Trust me, been there done that.

Coffee intensifies the chocolate flavor. It's not going to taste like coffee. The mocha refers to the cocoa and milk in the icing.
