Carissa Anderson Heck yeah!!!! We must be kin😂😂 In the cake batter there is 1 cup egg nog, cut it to 3/4 cup and use 1/4 cup of the Hennessy. It should be fine. For the buttercream, swap out a couple of tablespoons of the eggnog for the liquor.
Also, most cakes will stand up to being drizzled or sprayed (sprayed is better) with a little alcohol before frosting. For instance, Black Forest cherry cake is traditionally soaked with kirche (cherry brandy). My suggestion would be to frost the side you didn't spray (spray the cake in the pan and flip out, frost bottom). And think about how thick/difficult to spread is your frosting. Black Forest is iced with just a stabilized whipped cream, so it can be pretty wet, but if your using a butter cream you'll have to be more moderate.
Hi Carolyn. Thank you for sharing this recipe. How can I incorporate Brandy into this recipe? I use it in my eggnog. Do you think it will make the buttercream frosting break?

Yolanda Curtis It won’t a “Pound Cake” but you can bake it in a bundt pan. Pound cakes are dense, this is fluffy. Set the time for 45 minutes and then start checking it, it may take longer. I didn’t test it. Yes, once it’s done you can use the glaze.
OMG YES!!! I love Brogeiere’s egg nog!!! I used to live in Victorville and hung out in Long Beach. I would go directly to the dairy every chance I got. Some of our local SoCal stores stocked the stuff. I used it to make bread pudding and French toast. I’ll bet it is amazing in this cake, which I am determined to make soon! BTW, I’m sure your recipe for egg nog is the bomb as well! LOL

I wish or I hope that one day, if you find the time or interest...I'd love to see you make a 7-up cake the way it used to be made back during the 70's, when the 3 layer 7-up cakes were popular! I mean with the pineapple icing drippings running down the top and sides. Everyone makes the 7-up pound cakes, nobody makes the cake the original way it was made back in the day, some people have never seen it made that way...So please bring the forgotten 7-up cake back to life in it's original form for everyone to see, thank you!!
