    Superb footage of the tour mate! Certainly some traction there! Must say 37401 looks stunning! My the Swange Diesel Gala for her one year... :p Bit of a mixture of stock in that rake! Excellent work and thanks for sharing!

      +SDJR7F88 Thanks mate! It was great to see her carrying Large Logo Blue, suits the 37's very well! We can hope. Certainly was a bit of a mix and mash with the coaches! Glad you enjoyed!

    Cheers, shame you didn't get to see it. Already informed by Jordan L. Hardy, but thanks anyway. This evenings services are possibly down to Air festival commuters, while on Tuesday, it's a Furzebrook Ballast service.

    Great video.
    Getting bowled is part of life these days.
    Originally the plan was for the 37's to drop the passengers off on Platform 4 and not platform 3. But hey ho. Its good to see them using Platform 4. They dont use it for much these days.

      HentisD6569 Cheers.
      Was a right bugger, but there's not much we can do about it.

      Exactley I try to make light out of it aka the little sound effects tyhat are on their when I get bowled. Shit happens its no good throwing yer coal out of the tender as you get bowled. Its not going to magically rewindand go through with out the train that bowled you. Its life just move on. :)

    Another great vid Matt. Those locos look like they're being very well looked after - nice and shiny, looking very fresh! Bit of a pain in the backside with that 450 obstructing you in the first clip but that's life I suppose.
    I might just be going mental, but I'm sure there were some unusual loco end-changes; the all 3 locos seemed to change their order relative to the coaches, if you know what I mean!
    On a side note, I have just uploaded a video of the Camberley car show and I'd be very grateful if you could check it out - I understand you're rather into the car scene yourself (ooh, shameless plug!).

      FirstGearSims Cheers mate! They do look nice 'n tidy! Ah well, we all get bowled at some point. Your no going mental, the ECS move to Eastleigh was so that the locos could be turned, and swap ends so the 37's could work the return.
      I'll check it out.

    • @HentisRail
      @HentisRail 9 лет назад

      FirstGearSims The whole train was turned at Eastleigh. They have a very large loop that goes round the back of the deopt (through or past the old washer plant at the back of the depot , go all the way down campbell road to see it) So if the 37's drove round the loop at the head of the train they would pass the depot along the Botley line come back into platform 3 at the London end. Hence they would be ready then to lead out of Bournemouth.

    • @TheSouthernerYTChannel
      @TheSouthernerYTChannel  9 лет назад

      HentisD6569 You sure the whole train was turned? It seemed the coach formation remained constant, as for example, the DRS Mk2 Brake remained toward the London End of the station. And the ECS working at 3:22 would've had the Mk2 behind the 57.

    • @HentisRail
      @HentisRail 9 лет назад +1

      No you are correct they swapped loco ends then. As the two 37's and the were next to the ex anglia coaches on the way down. And the 57' is now next tot hem. Well surely it would have been easier to turn the whole train instead of long ass loco run rounds?

      HentisD6569 Since when have these companies ever done the easy option? :D They always seem to make things more difficult for themselves.

      TheSoutherner doesnt matter of its a 47/57 37 or what ever. Its different from all the EMU cr;ap we have down here. Think ourselves lucky as this year really has been crap with no regular booked freigh and just the odd engineering train that has passed through.

      This year really has been one to sweep under the carpet.
      This is some regular banter between me and Swifty. :D I know he's a massive fan of 57's, and won't hear a word against them. Hence I slagged them off. :)

    Good filming Matt, I see 401 has gained black headcode boxes since I saw her 2 days ago. I like the little cameo of the RAF roundel over the tail lights! The tour headcode was 1Z37 btw :)

    • @TheSouthernerYTChannel
      @TheSouthernerYTChannel  9 лет назад

      TheIntercityhst Cheers Ellis! The RAF roundels were in place, I suspect, since the tour was coordinated to run on the same weekend as the Bournemouth Air Festival. Cheers for that, RTT comes up with sod all for the Headcodes. Can I ask where you got the intel from?

    • @TheIntercityhst
      @TheIntercityhst 9 лет назад +1

      TheSoutherner I know mate, RTT disguises the freight headcodes as another number due to security purposes. If a company regularly carries hazardous chemicals then the headcode is not allowed to be stated, hence why RTT make up a fake headcode. This is with the exception of GBRf who have let RTT use the correct headcodes on their biomass trains.
      I got the code from a report on 'backline gen' this morning, when one of its members posted an update as the tour left Chester.

    • @TheSouthernerYTChannel
      @TheSouthernerYTChannel  9 лет назад

      TheIntercityhst Oh right, makes sense I suppose, even if it is a right pain for us.

    • @TheIntercityhst
      @TheIntercityhst 9 лет назад +1

      TheSoutherner It certainly is a pain, but headcodes can be easier to get than you think. A lot of gen group moderators and some of the members have access to TOPS, and so often post weekly TOPS lists for locos which sometimes gives the headcode. Freightmaster books are quite good too if you want to take the expensive route.
      Usually I just type in the tour/working into RUclips and hope someone else has posted the code before me!

    • @TheSouthernerYTChannel
      @TheSouthernerYTChannel  9 лет назад

      TheIntercityhst Ah, I'm not a member on gen, so may have to look for other ways of finding out the codes. I get the concealing of the working codes is for security reasons, but what really do the companies have to hide, or indeed gain from keeping the codes private? Just sounds like H&S gone mad again!

      dorset steam boy Shame you didn't get to see the tour. A little busy, due to the Air Show 'Traffic', but not too bad in terms of 'spotters. Yes, I did see the rain...cycled through it too.

      dorset steam boy Pretty good fun actually, and great practice for wet weather control. I will admit to jamming on the rear brake when coming up to a red light, and drifting the bike near sideways for about 20 meters.
