Brought back some happy memories of spotting on the WCML back when I was a spotty teen, 1979 (I think I started, all those lovely Ian Allen Number books), thank you so much for making a stress filled day a bit mellower!
@Para2normal I've always wanted a book to write down all the locos and units I've seen, but with old and Morden stuff, I wish I could have seen the wcml in 1979 would been so much better back then! And your welcome glad my video made your day a bit better! :)
Drivers are so friendly up the far north line. I remember catching the first train out of Wick and watching the sun rise above the countryside such a scenic line
I have always loved this line from childhood. We were quite close in moving to Helmsdale just before Covid hit. That more or less put the lid on it sadly.
I love The Far North line and your great videos bring back the lovely memories that I have of it and of staying in Brora. That one was especially good.
Yes very good weather considering what September can be like what is the diesel train in your video this being one pulling the old carriages the reason for asking is that I have seen it before but can’t remember
On Sundays the 1754 splits at Dingwall and one goes to Wick and Thurso and other set to kyle, just says the it's the (1754 Inverness - Wick & Kyle of Lochalsh) 😅
@@atlasduff4628 Class 47s were my favourite diesel back when I was a driver for BR, 57s were just 56s that we used mainly for freight especially MGR to Didcot and Ironbridge power stations which don't exist anymore.
Having said about the weather it’s turned sunny with you not sure how it will stay that way having seen the weather forecast for next week until the middle of October very wet but a few days of sunny weather
Yes having said that looking at the long range weather forecast it should be dry winter but cold and possibly more snow which the last video you did in the snow was really very good
That’s good to hear the last time there was a lot of snow in Scotland I driving an old Mercedes Benz truck up to aberfeldy but the snow drifts were 6 foot deep which wasn’t so good but very good views
@stephengunn-w7t Yes of course, I use a website called Real Time Trains on Google, sometimes very crap for some stuff but also very handy for these special movements! :)
Great shots of my local railway. Small request, don't stand next to your video camera whilst clicking away with your DSLR the mirror flapping noise is very annoying and spoils otherwise good video work!!
@ieuandavies4134 No worries! Luckily living on this line makes it amazing for scenery! Yes i understand that issue, sometimes it's hard to stay away from the phone but I do try my best!
That train from Dunrobin has the screechiest brakes I've ever heard!
@@TommyWylie they are so loud, it hurts the ears!

@andyc3088 you are right the drivers are amazing! But getting the 0618 from Wick and watching the sunrise is just amazing! Very nice feeling
Many thanks....the low stress railway in action.
Very low stressed up here to be honest aha!

Never seen so much action at Helmsdale! Nice one
I know it was some day! :)

Cheers mate! :)
Very good video not sure about the weather in Scotland but the sound quality from this video is actually better than your last video
@FraserWest-um4ue Thank you! Yes that Sunday for the northern belle was perfect, no wind, no rain, just sun and heat, especially for September! :)
Yes very good weather considering what September can be like what is the diesel train in your video this being one pulling the old carriages the reason for asking is that I have seen it before but can’t remember
@@FraserWest-um4ue they were 2 class 57s on the northern belle rail tour!
That’s what I wasn’t sure but thank you for the information and looking forward to seeing your next video
Super video 👍
@@matthewtowe755 Cheers Matt! :)
Kyle of Lochalsh ? Dingwall is where that line goes west! Think you meant Thurso.
Picton, South Island, New Zealand.

Nice video Kyle👍 It’s a shame the railtour was 57s and not 47s, but you can’t have everything I suppose😉
@atlasduff4628 thank you! It is a shame, but was still good to see something different ahah, hopefully something will come up next year!
