I recorded this from the tv as it was broadcast on the evening of Sunday February 7th 1988,the day before the first class 91,91001,was publicly unveiled at the BREL works at Crewe.

Tha 225 sets were by far the best UK trains for comfort. Now, we use elongated commuter trains. Great video.

I’m not sure many will agree. The HST mk3 coaches have been lauded as the most comfortable ride ever. Although the mk4 was developed from the mk3 passengers said it felt claustrophobic and unpleasant. Although I bet seating was far and away more comfortable that those horrible hitachi units
